The founder of a U.K. charity, to which Hugh Grant is famously a major donor after contributing around 75,000 pounds, has become the subject of an extensive BBC exposé for faking viral stories of kindness to make money.
On Thursday, the BBC released a documentary, Britain’s Hero Plumber Exposed, with an accompanying report accusing Depher founder James Anderson of lying in X posts, using photos of non-consenting beneficiaries and spending company cash on a house and a car.
Anderson has accrued a huge online following in recent years for his social media posts detailing the desperate pleas for help his charity has answered — prompting two million pounds in donations, according to BBC analysis of company accounts and even receiving letters of thanks from the late Queen Elizabeth II and the now-King Charles.

Having your famous father’s last name would seem to be a huge advantage for someone who wants to pursue a career in Tinseltown. It appears that Joseph Baena is attempting to steer clear of such a situation. He wants to earn his way, just like his father did.
After rumors surfaced in 2011 that Arnold Schwarzenegger had fathered a son in 1997 with Mildred Baena, the family housekeeper, the public was first introduced to the actor’s youngest child, Joseph Baena.

Although Baena enjoys working out and even dabbles in bodybuilding, he does not feel obligated to follow in his father’s footsteps. While Schwarzenegger is known for his intense bodybuilding workouts, Baena focuses on overall fitness and functional strength, which includes swimming, cycling, running, and weightlifting.

Inadvertently kidnapped, bumbling information technology specialists Mitch (Hendrie) and Lenny (Rudnick) find themselves on an exotic world of constant partying, mingling and cuddling, all run by the Golden Ram Man (Mariano), a mad tyrant who abhors insubordination and seeded grapes.

Gary Goldsmith may not be on Celebrity Big Brother anymore but that hasn’t stopped him from discussing his niece. The Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) uncle was evicted from the Big Brother house on March 8 but he’s now giving his take on the Photoshop fail seen ’round the world.
What Kate’s uncle thought of the Photoshopped Mother’s Day snap
On March 11, Goldsmith, who is Carole Middleton’s brother, appeared on Good Morning Britain and revealed that he hasn’t actually seen Kate in quite some time.
He told the show host it’s been about “a year” since he saw her last, adding: “So it’s weddings and funerals unfortunately. We don’t get to see them that often. Pippa more so. James more so, I’m his godfather. And my sister and I checked [in] when Kate was in hospital.”

Kensington Palace has to open up. That’s a commentator’s advice for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s office amid conspiracy theories about the Princess of Wales, who hasn’t made a public appearance since late 2023. The palace should be “candid and open” about whatever they can or, the commentator says, risk appearing “very secretive” about much more than Kate’s surgery recovery.
Kensington Palace must ‘work overtime’ to be ‘candid and open’ amid questions about Kate Middleton’s recovery
After the Prince of Wales pulled out of a memorial service for King Constantine II of Greece due to a “personal reason” and a very brief update on Kate’s recovery, royal commentator Jack Royston discussed Kensington Palace’s image with TalkTV’s The Royal Tea.
“I think what the palace needs to be really careful of here is that it’s starting to look like they’re being...

Piers Morgan has announced his “Uncensored” show is moving from TalkTV to YouTube, citing the “unnecessary straitjacket” of TV schedules.
In an interview with The Times, Morgan said he will now focus on growing the “Uncensored” YouTube channel, which has over 2.3 million subscribers. “Uncensored” has aired in the 8 p.m. slot on TalkTV for the past two years.
“It’s clear there’s a huge global demand for the content we’re making, but the commitment to a daily show at a fixed schedule, with all the editing and time sensitivities that involves, has been an increasingly unnecessary straitjacket,” Morgan told The Times.
He cited controversial podcast host Joe Rogan, who posts his full interviews to YouTube, as an inspiration for making the move.

If you spent Monday morning watching or listening to the news in the UK, you would be forgiven for thinking that the BBC was getting it badly wrong on impartiality.
Lucy Frazer, Britain’s Culture Secretary, was interviewed by almost every major news show in the country, ostensibly to speak about some uncontroversial reforms the government is making to the BBC’s regulatory arrangements.
As she was paraded in front of a variety of presenters, Frazer was repeatedly pressed on whether the BBC was biased. She answered yes, on behalf of both the government and the BBC’s millions of viewers and listeners
“There is a perception amongst the public that the BBC is biased,” Frazer told Sky News. She went further in an interview with Gb News: “Audiences are feeling like the BBC is not performing that role in relation to impartiality and they are getting less impartial...

Sharon Osbourne insists she has no regrets about taking Ozempic. The reality television veteran, 71, lost 40lbs when she started injecting the weight loss drug that has become a hit with Hollywood stars looking to drop fat.
She said that she is glad she took it despite wanting to have a fuller figure again, reports Female First UK.
She told ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ show: “I don’t regret it. Everything with weight with me was, ‘I want it now’. The injections that I was on worked, but it just seems that now I can’t put anything on really.”
Sharon added she wishes she could add 10 pounds back to her frame but has been unable to do so.
As per Female First UK, the former ‘Osbournes’ star admitted in May she took Ozempic jabs for four months in an effort to drop 30lbs, but was hit with horrible side effects.

Laurence Fox’s highly misogynistic rant on Dan Wootton Tonight, which led to the actor and politician’s firing from Gb News, was Ofcom’s most-complained-about TV show of the year in 2023.
The episode in September, in which Fox ranted about journalist Ava Evans – saying no “self-respecting man would climb into bed with her” – narrowly beat complaints around Bridgerton star Adjoah Andoh’s comments during King Charles III’s Coronation to the top spot of the regulator’s annual list.
Fox was fired from Gb News following the rant, which generated nationwide headlines and amassed a total of 8,867 complaints, ahead of Andoh by around 200.
Ofcom investigated almost immediately due to the severity of the breach and it is one of a dozen Gb News shows that have been or are being probed by the regulator this year, with five already found to be in breach. Fox, who regularly featured on...

“Good Morning Britain” received 2,378 complaints on Oct. 17 after presenter Richard Madeley asked Member of Parliament Layla Moran, who has family living in Gaza, if there was “any word on the street” about Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel, according to U.K. communications regulator Ofcom.
While discussing the Israel-Hamas war, Madeley asked Moran (via ITV News), “With your family connections in Gaza, did you have any indication of what was going to happen 10 days ago, two weeks ago? Was there any word on the street?”

The exchange sparked outrage on social media, with some calling for Madeley to be fired over the question. Madeley later issued an apology, saying via a “Good Morning Britain” spokesperson: “Richard is sorry...

Morgan, who was taking part in a debate about news impartiality at the Royal Television Society conference on Thursday morning alongside Channel 4 News anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy, suggested he had been “invited to leave his job” after he cast doubt on comments Meghan had made about her mental health during her May 2021 interview with Oprah.
Posing the situation as a hypothetical — “Imagine members of the Royal Family make a series of allegations,” he said, “and one presenter stands up courageously and says ‘I think it’s a pack of lies'” — Morgan said his comments could be viewed as “due impartiality” in light of other presenters’ support of Meghan. Yet despite that and the fact that U.K. media regulator Ofcom...

Thomas Markle Threatens To Sue ‘Cruel’ Daughter Meghan Markle For Keeping His Grandchildren From Him
Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, has issued a public plea to his daughter, asking to meet his grandchildren.
Though Meghan and Thomas have not spoken in five years, Thomas has expressed his desire to meet her children, Archie and Lilibet, and even suggested that he would sue his daughter if she did not grant his wishes.
During an interview with Good Morning Britain, Thomas likened himself to King Charles, the children’s paternal grandfather, with whom Meghan and Prince Harry are also estranged.
“I still haven’t seen my grandkids,” he explained. “And that’s what this is about. I want to see my grandkids, and I think the king would like to see his grandkids, as well.”
Thomas added that Prince Harry and Meghan’s choice is a “cruel thing to do to a grandparent, not just to me but to the king of England.”

“Everyone shouts out ‘Helen Mirren! Julie Walters! Dame Judi Dench!’ in the street at me all the time,” said Richard Osman in 2021, which is mad because he doesn’t even look anything like them, and must make it weird when he goes out to buy his morning latte.
Only kidding. After the millions of books he’s sold, there’s no way Richard Osman buys his own morning latte.
People are shouting those names at the author of the mega-successful Thursday Murder Club series as casting suggestions for the lead roles in the forthcoming movie adaptations. That’s who they want to see playing retired nurse Joyce – a terrible flirt (in that she excels at it) with a core of absolute steel and a person you’d absolutely want in your corner, and former British Intelligence agent Elizabeth – a great mind who can scheme a way out of any situation...

Priscilla Presley was one of the people closest to Elvis. The pair were together for years, and even after their divorce, she remained close to him and his family. She knew him better than most people. When reflecting on her ex-husband’s life, Priscilla acknowledged that he always dealt with “demons.” She believed that Elvis would have always had these demons, even if he’d lived a much longer life.
Priscilla Presley thought Elvis would have always dealt with ‘demons’
In her nearly two decades of knowing Elvis, Priscilla said she watched him deal with many personal struggles. As his life went on, he began to feel increasingly isolated and alone. Looking back, Priscilla wished she could express to him how many people cared — and continue to care — about him.
“I wish that I could share with him knowledge,” she said on Good Morning Britain (via The Daily Mail). “Because he really was alone.

Priscilla Presley was a fan of Elvis Presley long before she entered into a relationship with him. He was one of the biggest artists in the world, and his music was inescapable; her friends brought Elvis merchandise to school and joined his fan club. While Priscilla was never this dedicated of a fan, her mother didn’t think she should be listening to Elvis’ music at all. She thought he was far too inappropriate for teenage girls.
Priscilla Presley’s mom didn’t think she should listen to Elvis’ music
When Priscilla was in junior high school, she began understanding why some of her friends were fans of Elvis. After seeing him perform on television, she realized what others saw in him.

The paper states that Edwards’ wife Vicky Flind – herself a TV producer – consulted Coulson before issuing her statement identifying her husband on Wednesday evening.
The presenter is currently in hospital, according to his wife, following allegations that he had paid £35,000 for inappropriate pictures from a teenage user of crack cocaine.
Coulson runs a PR agency specialising in crisis management. He previously edited News of the World between 2003 and 2007, and went on to become then-prime minister David Cameron’s director communications. He was jailed in 2014 for hacking offences.

Susanna Reid has defended her decision to pay for a blue tick on Twitter.
Last week, CEO Elon Musk made good of his promise to strip “legacy” verification status from every user who had not paid for a Twitter Blue subscription.
In their first tweets without a blue tick, many celebrities said they were happy to be free of it as they believe it would be “embarrassing” to pay $8 (£6.44) a month for it.
It was reported that a mere 28 “legacy” verified users signed up for Twitter Blue hours after Elon Musk took away their verified status.
One celebrity who decided to subscribe in order to retain their blue tick was Good Morning Britain presenter Reid, who defended her decision in response to a news story shared online.

Channel 4 has received nearly 1,300 Ofcom complaints over its controversial show Naked Education.
Presented by Anna Richardson and created by the team behind Naked Attraction, the educational show about body positivity aired on Channel 4 earlier this month.
In the first episode, a group of 14 to 16-year-olds were taught about body hair, with the segment concluding with four adults stripping off in front of them to show diversity in other people’s bodies.
The four adults also spoke to the teenagers about their own issues with body image and the topic of pubic hair.
The series was hotly debated on social media and daytime TV, with Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway saying: “There’s something about the physicality of a stranger being naked in front of a teenager which I just feel uncomfortable about, because of all the things that we read about.”

During the show, John dedicated “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” to the “inspiring” couple, who he said had been “through hell” but had “never given up”.

While some of his jokes haven’t always aged well among some audiences, Seth Rogen, now 39, certainly has. The comedian has racked up hit after hit, starting with the cult favorite series “Freaks and Geeks” in 1999. After minor roles in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” to “The 40 Year-Old Virgin,” Rogen proved his leading man prowess with 2007’s “Knocked Up,” followed immediately by the critically acclaimed high-school comedy “Superbad.” Rogen’s affable straight-man persona continued in “Pineapple Express,” “This Is the End,” and “Neighbors,” with more dramatic roles including “50/50,” “Take This Waltz,” and “An American Pickle” adding to Rogen’s prolific and well-rounded career.
As for how some of his sometimes foul-mouthed, politically incorrect comedies have withstood the test of time, Rogen said on “Good Morning Britain” that it’s simply “the nature of comedy” for some humor, especially of his button-pushing variety, to curdle as time progresses...

Eddie Marsan has shut down an agitated fan who called him a “woke lefty” after he defended Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray against racist bullying.
Earlier this month, Ray opened up about the racism he had been subjected to on social media following disparaging comments made about British-Pakistani men by Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
“To see the racist bullying @adilray has been subject to over the last few days, has been heartbreaking, but the way he’s dealt with it, with skill, humour and far superior intelligence has been inspiring,” Marsan tweeted on Sunday (16 April).
The next day, a user responded to The Power star’s post, angrily writing: “I wish you were like the characters you portrayed. Not the woke lefty who tweets what he thinks people want to hear [middle finger emoji].”
Shortly after, Marsan replied: “Have you seen the characters I play?”

Adil Ray has criticised Laurence Fox after the Lewis star compared insults aimed at him as an actor to Ray’s own experiences of racism.
On Sunday (10 April), the Good Morning Britain host – who has been vocal about past experiences in which he was the target of racism – responded to a news story about Essex police seizing racially offensive dolls from a pub.
The dolls, traditionally known as “golli***s”, feature a racist caricature of Black people.
Writing on Twitter, Ray commented: “I was called golliw*** at school. Just hearing the word frightens me. I can’t think of any good reason why someone on balance might think it’s ok to display them in a pub.”
In response, Fox tweeted: “Stay strong bro. I feel your pain. [Theatre critic] Quentin Letts described me as having a face that belonged in the winners enclosure at Aintree in a theatre review once, which,...

Porn star Stormy Daniels told Piers Morgan that he fitted her usual demographic in their interview for TalkTV on Thursday (6 April).
Morgan was interviewing Daniels over her central role in the hush money payments that led to 34 criminal charges being brought against former president Donald Trump this week.
Follow The Independent’s live coverage of the interview here.
During the interview, Daniels spoke about how her fanbase shifted in 2018 after she came forward with an allegation that she had been in a sexual, extramarital relationship with the president in 2006, and had been threatened and later bribed to stay quiet.
“I was dancing in strip clubs, which I had always done but it used to be [that] I’d go on stage and most of the [audience] would be white guys in suits – very much like you,” Daniels told the host, who did not respond.
“And then suddenly overnight I walked out on...

Adil Ray has spoken out after receiving “nothing but” racist messages in the wake of Suella Braverman’s comments about “British-Pakistani males”.
Speaking about the government crackdown on child sexual abuse on Sunday (2 April), the home secretary singled out British-Pakistani men as she alluded to grooming cases in Rotherham and Rochdale.
Braverman pointed to a “predominance of certain ethnic groups – and I say British Pakistani males – who hold cultural values totally at odds with British values, who see women in a demeaned and illegitimate way and pursue an outdated and frankly heinous approach in terms of the way they behave”.
Braverman was subsequently accused of “dog whistle” politics, while the Nspcc argued that only considering race could create new “blind spots”.
During a discussion on Good Morning Britain on Thursday (6 April) about the government’s refugee policy, Ray shared his fear that the country was becoming more divided.
“We had another divide this week…...

Channel 4’s new series Naked Education became the subject of debate on Good Morning Britain today (6 April).
The show, from the producers of the equally controversial programme Naked Attraction, is presented by Anna Richardson, Yinka Bokinni, and Dr Alex George, and focuses on body positivity.
In the first episode, which debuted on Tuesday night (4 April), a group of teenagers aged 14 to 16 years old were taught about body hair. The segment concluded with four adults stripping off in front of them to show the diversity of people’s bodies.
The four adults also spoke to the teenagers, telling them of their own issues with body image. They also discussed the subject of pubic hair with one another.
