Wow. Just wow.
There was so much that happened on Gotham Season 3 Episode 4, I'm not even sure where to begin, so let's start at the end.
So Barnes is about to go dark. I can hardly wait. I can't even imagine what he's going to be like considering he's such a hard ass, but we know from several conversations he's had with Jim that he's got some hidden secrets behind that tough exterior.
I think it all has to do with his war experiences, but I'm not entirely sure. All I know is that I'm looking forward to seeing the high and mighty Barnes fall down the rabbit hole, if you will.
I don't understand why he was bothering checking out the pool of blood. He knew Alice's blood was dangerous, so why didn't he order some sort of cordoning off of the area?
I'm also a little concerned about Bullock's future.

When last we tuned into Fox’s Gotham, Jim Gordon was a man on a mission, having emerged from the myriad dangers of Hugo Strange’s lab with a determination to find and win back the woman he loves, Dr. Leslie Thompkins.
Alas, that romantic mission went sideways, hard, it is revealed in the very first frames of the Season 3 premiere (airing Monday at 8/7c).

Since its premiere in late 2014, Gotham has gone from strength to strength. It has successfully updated the often cluttered backstories of several core characters, holding the attention of both casual viewers and long time comic book fans. Season two has now ended and the streets are more dangerous than ever, while our heroes and villains are beginning to fall into step with their comic book counterparts (looking at you, Ed Nygma). Several characters we’ve not seen in a while have also returned, with different priorities than when we last left them.
Gotham is now entering a transitory period: its early years are ending and it begins on the road to its middle seasons. Shifts in focus and theme are to be expected to keep things fresh and new characters will no doubt be introduced. Perhaps the most exciting prospect of the last season were the strong hints that Jim may...

Sir Roger Moore's quotes that Idris Elba would make an "unrealistic" Bond may have been taken out of context. In an interview in publication Paris Match, he allegedly addressed the speculation that Elba would be the next 007 as such:a few years ago, I said that Cuba Gooding Jr. would make an excellent Bond, but it was a joke! Although James may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman, and an Irishman, I think he should be ‘English-English’… it’s an interesting idea, but unrealistic. Of course, the implication of "English-English" is that he means "white." Moore denied these allegations of racism on Twitter by saying that it was "simply untrue" and that something was "#Lost in translation." It should be noted that the interview was published in French. So he may have just been dissing Cuba Gooding Jr.'s American-ness and wasn't talking about Elba at all. To Moore's credit,...

Roger Moore has hit back at claims he made racist comments about Idris Elba.
Moore is said to have told Paris Match magazine that Idris Elba couldn't play James Bond because he isn't "English English".
Spectre trailer embraces Bond movies past: Who's lurking in the shadows?
"Although James may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman and an Irishman, I think he should be "English-English," Moore is quoted as saying.
"Nevertheless, it's an interesting idea, but unrealistic."
However, in a follow-up post on Twitter, Moore said that his comments were mistranslated.

Several celebrities have backed Elba to become the first black Bond, including Gemma Arterton, Kanye West and even former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.

Jim Gordon takes a morally dubious step in his quest for a cleaned-up Gotham City in this week's episode of the Batman prequel...
This review contains spoilers.
1.13 Welcome Back, Jim Gordon
Holy convenient plot parallels, Batman! This week’s Gotham saw Jim on a bulldog-like quest for justice as layers upon layers of corruption within the Gotham City Police Department revealed themselves. Like last week’s ‘about ruddy time’ pay-off on a long-teased gang war, it was a relief this week to the see the oft-mentioned corruption within the Gcpd actually become a central part of the plot.
Just as Broadchurch is currently presenting ITV viewers with a distorted reflection of its core case via the unsolvable Sandbrook mystery, Gotham this week used Detective Flass to show Jim the dark path he could well be starting on by asking Oswald for help. The episode’s coda - which saw Detective...

Celebrity Big Brother housemates Dappy and Jim Davidson went on hunger strike last night.
As part of this week's North Pole shopping task, the Huskies - Dappy, Luisa Zissman, Casey Batchelor and Lee Ryan - were treated to a secret Mutt's Nuts pub with lots of food after a day of gruelling challenges.
However, Jim and the other housemates believed that they had been forced to bed down in an uncomfortable kennel with nothing to eat.
As a result, Jim decided to go on hunger strike and Dappy decided to join him after watching the other housemates on a screen from the pub.
"Poor Jim, man," he said.
When Lee asked Dappy why he did not want to eat, he replied: "Because bro, Lee, are you being serious? What about Jim, then? I've seen this so I've decided I'm not going to eat for Jim's sake. You lot eat -...

Brains of a Blonde: Thornton’s Unnecessary Return to the Director’s Chair
After his astonishingly strong 1996 directorial debut, Sling Blade, you’d be hard pressed to find another new director more highly anticipated than Billy Bob Thornton during that time period. After two viciously unsuccessful followups (a failed Cormac McCarthy adaptation, All the Pretty Horses, 2000, and a jarringly delayed family drama, Daddy and Them, made in 1999 and released on DVD in 2001), Thornton finally debuts a fourth feature, Jayne Mansfield’s Car, which continues his fascination with sprawling Southern family sagas where familial relations are strange and in-laws interminably spout second-tier Tennessee Williams tropes, and where an attempt at depicting culture clash really only plays out like misguided narrative clash. Sadly, this southern fried period piece is as headless as the corpse in the car it references, the tacky Mansfield car a garish metaphor for Thornton’s cinematic offering, touring...

Near the end of Thursday's (May 9) next-to-last episode of "The Office," Oscar acknowledges that "nothing will ever be the same" after the documentary airs.
He's right -- their lives will probably change some after they become subjects of a TV series instead of just office workers. And for one of the show's long-running couples, that's especially true. After Angela's tear-filled confession to Oscar last week, she finally lets Dwight know she's still in love with him, around the same time he realizes that the tiny, icy accountant is more right for him than Esther.
Add in the fact that Phillip is actually Dwight's son* and a roadside proposal that involves a megaphone ("It expresses how loudly I love you," Dwight explains) and the final stage of the weird, twisted Dwight-Angela relationship turns out very sweetly.
(*As for the show already having covered Dwight's paternity, Angela Kinsey explained it this way...

The film that regained Danny Boyle his red hot status after the wrong turn represented by A Life Less Ordinary and The Beach, 28 Days Later serves not only as Sound on Sight’s favorite Boyle outing, but also as a refreshingly original take on a zombie horror sub-genre that enjoyed a new lease of (undead) life in the intervening period following its success. Simple tricks such as subverting standardized niche tropes and avoiding use of the ‘Z word’ were combined with a sweepingly ambitious, more pragmatic route of plot as its small band of heroes looked for survival and hope in desolated Great Britain. Interestingly, many of the crucial creative choices by Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland, here producing his finest script, lend credence to the notion that all is not what it seems within 28 Days Later, and that its bleak atmosphere and constant mood of perilous dread in fact...

I try to be optimistic with The Office considering the challenge the show was tasked with overcoming after Steve Carell left the series, however, I knew from the episode title, “Pam’s Replacement” that I would probably be annoyed by it. Who would’ve guessed seeing that title the episode would revolve around Pam getting jealous of her replacement? Anyone. Who was afraid the episode would fall flat? Everyone. “But Joe, your pompous assumptions only concern the plot which on paper could go either way – it’s how the plot is moved forward that defines a story.” Well put, however, “Pam’s Replacement” failed in that department as well, miserably. This episode wasted its characters whom appear almost as tired of the stories they’re in as the stories themselves. The only elements that only slightly redeem “Pam’s Replacement” were Dwight’s viciousness and Jim...

Survivor's back. Coach is back. Ozzie's back. 18 survivors. 39 days. Let's go!
I'm glad to be reviewing the season premiere of Survivor: South Pacific while TV Fanatic guru Luke Dwyer is on vacation, no doubt somewhere in the South Pacific. Full of intense challenges, plenty of getting to know you periods, some swimming in the perfect blue ocean, and a fight or two, "I Need Redemption" was a great start to season 23.
When we first met the contestants, they were already into their tribes, only waiting to see what returning Survivors were going to join them. There were whispers of hope that neither was Russell Hantz, which was awkward for Russell's nephew Brandon, who is one of the contestants. Eventually, Ozzie from Cook Island and Fans vs. Favorites, and Coach from Tocantins and Heroes vs. Villains, jumped out of the helicopter to a mostly warm welcome.

Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Jim Toth, got lunch yesterday in La, but she was later solo, in a button-down and short white shorts, to get coffee. She hopped back in her SUV after picking up the drink, then headed to visit a friend's home. Reese is home again in California following her end-of-Summer vacation in Hawaii with Jim and children Ava and Deacon. She and Jim may be interested in purchasing an oceanside pad closer to home - Reese checked out Brad Pitt's Malibu mansion, which is on the market for $14 million, earlier this week. Reese also had time for lunch with Taylor Swift a few days ago. Reese and Taylor talked about their mutual ex Jake Gyllenhaal, reportedly saying that he can be vain and self-absorbed! The Apprentice final airs on BBC One tonight and Northern Irish candidate Jim Eastwood finds himself in a bit of hot water, during his interview with former show aide Margaret Mountford.
The silver haired business expert asks Jim to describe himself without using nay of his normal clichés and on of the first things out of his mouth is:
“I’m exactly what it says on the tin”
Margaret looks dumbfounded by his stupidity and after accusing him of “swallowing a book of clichés”, she asks:
“What impression does that give me of you? That you’re a bit of an ass?”
Things go from bad to worse for Eastwood as he moves on to his next interview, only for magazine mogul Mike Soutar to pick up on exactly the same point.
He blasts:
“I’ve read your application and it’s full of clichés, buzzwords and blarney. Jim, do...

Good new, everybody! Well, maybe not for everybody but for some of you anyway! Misery night has returned! Yes, now you can spend your summer evenings watching hoarders and addicts fight with their families, tell heartbreaking stories of abandonment and abuse, frustratingly resist help, and finally show some small amount of progress such that you get your hopes up for them before finally realizing that most of these people will backslide within a month or two. Aren't you thrilled!?! I'm sure there are those of you who are, either because you like the show or because watching "Hoarders" keeps your apartment/house in tip-top shape because watching it gives you the screaming heebies. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "The Bachelorette" on ABC
"Basketball Wives" on VH1
"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family

HollywoodNews.com: ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star Alexis Bellino and her husband Jim may be moving forward with some legal action against Chase due to some agreements they feel were broken by the bank.
While the Bellinos had a business go into bankruptcy which led to their house going up for auction, the couple believes they were screwed over by Chase, states RadarOnline.com. “Right now we’re considering legal action against Chase, regarding the fact that they changed the terms of their loan modification agreement,” Michael York, the couple’s lawyer, reported.
The auction for the couple’s home has been moved around and their lawyer reportedly expects it to be moved again.
Do you think the Bellinos will get out of this situation?

The stellar I Sell the Dead (review here) is finally hitting DVD and Blu-ray on March 30th, and in honor of the occasion Dread Central will be running a series of interviews with several members of the cast and crew. First up is writer/director Glenn McQuaid.
Elaine Lamkin: First, I have to say how surprised I was when during the behind-the-scenes featurette on the DVD someone mentioned that The Scratcher pub in the East Village, which doubled for the interiors of The Fortune of War pub in I Sell the Dead, is owned by Irish actor, Karl Geary, whom I interviewed for his role in The Burrowers! The film world, particularly the indie film world, can be very small.
Glenn McQuaid: It's a small world all right, especially when you're working in the horror genre. Karl's a fellow Dubliner, too, but it's through his acting that I know him.

Taking it on the Chinn
Oscar-winning producer Simon Chinn was last week recalling the moment he took to the Kodak Theatre podium 12 months ago to collect the award for his superb documentary Man on Wire. He was joined by his director James Marsh and by the film's French star Philippe Petit. In an exclusive charity Q&A session, Chinn revealed to me some of the tensions behind the production but also some of the secrets of one of the great Oscar acceptances of all time. After a magic trick with a lucky coin, Petit, it will be remembered, then took the Oscar statue and balanced it on his chin as the music played to usher the winners off stage. "We had to ask special permission ahead of the awards for the Academy to allow Philippe up if we won," says Chinn.
