Trivia:

The actual beach is not totally surrounded and enclosed by mountains, hiding it from the sea. In fact, there is a large gap between two gigantic boulders, and the films editors superimposed a fake mountain there in post-production.

Goofs:

Continuity: When Richard and Francoise swim out to the glowing plankton and start kissing they are in deep water, when they rise to the surface they are able to stand.

I'll be brief. I didn't want to watch 'The Beach' because of the bad reviews, but when I accidentally came across it while surfing through the channels, I couldn't stop watching.

If you're young and have a thing for interesting stories, you'll love this one.
