Wait till the right time
19 September 2007
Thank u, Thank u. It's been a while but worth the wait, finally a film which leaves me still thinking about the plots way after the last credits have rolled. I tried to watch this film before but could tell I had to be in the right frame of mind to watch a film in which the structure and message could be missed. When I did seat down to watch I was locked from start to finish.

The acting roles were very well done from the young to old, Brad showed why he's the man with almost everything and the Director has come along way since "crash". In closing this is not the kind of film you can watch with a lot happening around you. Save it till the time is right and you will experience a film worth the waiting for! Very different and very well done!

Epic lad flick
16 March 2007
Well I have just finished watching this movie and would like to say it is a pleasure when you feel that the film was too short. Of late I have been falling asleep while watching flicks. In the style of "Sin City", this movies grips you from the very start. With wonderful Cinematic's and fights scenes of the highest order. This has certainly left and good taste in my mouth. Even the end was very fitting and believable which is a real treat. Casting of mostly B rated or unknowns made this an uncompromising film in respects to who lives or dies, which is what you really want unlike "the last Samurai" where Tom Cruise is one of the only survivors of a epic battle. In closing this is a must for the lads but maybe the ladies might want the night out, that is unless they want to give the fellows tips on how to get into shape like almost everyone on cast. Excellent lad flick.

Well done "The Rock".
4 February 2007
I think this film was well executed from start to finish, and I am glad Dwayne (the Rock) is doing these sort of films now and at 34 years will not be type casted. Xzibit also did very well in this film. You were able to relate well to the characters and even better to the story. After watching your left with a warm feeling inside. Even watching the real life footage at the very end gives you the feeling that sometimes a little change can turn into a raging success with the right time and commitment. Thank you Seen Potter for your life story and I think I'm going to start on my autobiography right now. In closing a big shout out to the Rock for in my opinion being the best wrestler to turn Hollywood ever but I guess its all acting anyway, so maybe it wasn't as big a change as it sounds.

Not missing anything new
28 January 2007
This film just lets itself down towards the end. From the start I thought maybe this one was going to be different and not the same as Vann Damme has been doing for the last 5 years, which has been in most cases disappointing. But these films seem not have the stamina to finish the race, and the plot seems a little hard to swallow. But I do like Vann Damme's idea of moving away from the action, more for the acting but he needs to find the right material or its just a waste of time. In closing quite a lot of things were bad from the make-up to the acting. Vivica A. Fox who did your make-up girl, they need shooting. Your not missing anything new by missing this one.

Could have been so much better
21 January 2007
Okay. The film itself isn't that bad, that's why I gave it a 5, but I was always waiting for more. Could it be the anticipation of waiting for it or was it just not enough. Well here's were I think the film did well and badly. It grips you from the start and I thought this looks like it could hit the spot. But unfortunately the middle is a big let down meaning if you friends came round and wanted to watch it, you would have to take the dog for a walk or maybe clean out the shed your Mrs has been trying to get you to do for a few months now. The climax is fairly good but if you went to the Cinema or you were the one who payed for it. Sorry mate but at least your due for some good luck. Could have been so much Better.

Another Great British Movie
19 January 2007
For some reason the British Movie making industry has never flourished like the American. But every once and a while they get it right. This films hits you from almost every angle and you won't have a clue which next. The characters are Believable and the acting better. From the start you don't really know how you are going to really get into a film like this with the topic. Let me just tell you its worth waiting the first 10 minutes for the story to unfold. The action scenes are quite real and the camera direction in those scenes deserve an award themselves. Its always the quiet films that nobody mentions that give you the biggest shock. A must see if you haven't already.

Miss-match
6 January 2007
This is not a very good addition to the Rocky collection, apart from the way his life seems to have changed, which is almost believable. The story to me may have lacked any new input and seemed to be a replica of the original masterpiece. The worst was that Tarver is a recognised heavy weight with a few ring skills and Stallone has not learnt a bit of boxing in any of the Rocky's. So the Match-up was a miss-match to be kind. They should have made him come back to the ring in 5 if that was the plan and not wait so long. Foreman managed it with his height and strength but having a good jaw a 60 does not make for a heavy weight title fight. Nice but like Arnold in Terminator 3. No CIGAR (at ALL).

Not bad MEL
6 January 2007
If this is the kind of work, that drunk Aussie is going to be producing then all power to him. Mel seems to have very good directional skills with the landscape, movement of camera and tenseness of the scene. The film takes you in to the characters from the start and keeps you till the end. You even have a fondness for the leader of the opposing tribe. The Aztecs were known for their brutal rituals of sacrifice in Gods name but not as much for their tranquil living. If you are looking for a very good film with good scripts and don't mind the subs. Do not pass and go, collect. Lets wait in anticipation for MR Gibsons next instalment.

"Jackie Chan" even thinks Tony is the best
4 January 2007
I will and always be a Chan supporter but when I heard he recently said "Tony was the best" not only for his real stunts but his skills I had to see what the excitement was all about. To be honest I was not that amazed with Ong Bak, although it seems everyone else loved it, I was thinking there are still better out there like Jet Li. After seeing a few scenes on adverts I had to watch this film. As in Ong Bak the script was dreadful BUT the action blew me away. OH my goodness, for the avid marshal arts fan this is a giant step to cinema perfection. It just gets better and better as the film climaxes. Nathan Jones, the monster from Troy is the perfect opponent. Strong and fearless. Some of the best multiple opponent fight scenes ever screened. All this guy Tony Jaa needs is an accomplished Director with the same choreography and a Legend will be born. Can he get better these fights scenes, thats the question now?

Saw III (2006)

This should b 2
17 November 2006
The best compliment I can pay to this movie has already been said but I think I'll give my 10 cents worth. Saw 3 takes you mentally back to the atmosphere of Saw. The only thing good about 2 was the pimp character and without him would have been a flop.

But Saw 3 is Dark, gory and leaves you thinks of all the implications of the twist at the end. Which could never beat 1 but is pretty good. So its a shame that we now have to bid adjour to the Saw trilogy but please don't try to add onto 3. Unless you do a Prequel which is the rave right now! The saw trilogy will be remembered for bringing us some of the most innovative ways to torture since the 18 century. Thanks guys. I'm gonna lock my door tonight.

Well done Tyrese
16 November 2006
OK, my Mrs wanted to watch it for a few days but I thought it was going to be the usual muscle bound stuff which is synonymous with a Tyrese title. But was I wrong. The film captures you from the off with good sounds and fast moving filming. The story is predictable but enjoyable and left me with a nice taste in my mouth. Unfortunately it has taken Tyrese almost 20 years from his coke advert to finally make a film in which we see a little talent. In closing I was very happy because with a film like this you can only score on action but they were some strong roles (not award winning but there hasn't been much of that lately anyhow).

Give it a chance
24 August 2006
OK I have seen a lot of up and down reviews on this film and in my opinion some of the votes are unfounded. This is your run of the mill disaster flick and a fairly good one at that. so to vote less than 7, maybe you didn't have a clue what you were about to watch in the first place. I mean if you watch "The Shawshank Redemption", "Rocky" and then "Terminator" you don't tally up a general scoring for all, they are totally different films.

So the acting is as required in such a film and the special effects are very good. The end is fairly predictable but you give me 3 films that ain't. With all of that mentioned it is a good DISASTER film which takes you in some scenes back to "Tower of Inferno" and those sort of classics we all loved a few years back and i repeat we weren't looking for Oscar nominations after those either, just a good d*** DISASTER movie. Thank you for the time...
