This indie film is really compelling and heart wrenching. The script is fantastic and the directing is great, especially for a first timer! A truly poignant and topical film.

Touching piece
sandra-33326 July 2018
From sadness to laughter, to reflections and more. A timeless piece. If you are a blockbuster type, this may not be for you as it portrays real life daily emotions. If you are an independent type, you will appreciate not only what the message is, but everything that goes with it.

FAKE Ratings

Do NOT RECOMMEND!

Totally unrealistic script and HORRIBLE ACTING by Caroline AMIGUET. I had to put subtitles on because she mumbled most of her lines. Then I discovered that she's married to the director- her cringe worthy performance was spun from nepotism.

Nothing seemed real. For starters, if you were to find a child hiding in your attic, wouldn't you want to investigate who she is and where she came from? The ridiculously unbelievable script was an insult to all of us.

I noticed it received a San Diego Film award- it must have been more nepotism or this particular award had no other entries.

Don't waste your time on this awful movie.

Stays with you
Phil_Chester7 July 2018
Every time we sit down to watch a film, we always hope for one that will "stay with you". This touching modern take on the Anne Frank story does just that. It's a haunting tale full of unexpected turns and an ending that had us arguing for hours. Recommended.

Complete Garbage, if garbage was sterile and uninteresting
scott_ie5 July 2018
I don't believe I've ever given a 1 star rating out of maybe watching 4-5 films a week for years. There is not a single area to compliment on this film and every single aspect of it is pure poo-poo.

There is so much to criticize i will mention only one topic about this video. The canned music, or so I thought, was the only thing that kept me from walking out during this viewing. I wanted to see where the Mr. Sivertson got the canned music for the soundtrack as it was so awful. The credits showed it to be an original score by .... ta-daa, the Director, Matt Sivertson, who also wrote and .... um, composed this piece of garbage. I would be so ashamed and embarrassed to attach my name to this let alone claim credit for total control of it.

The only joy of this wasted hour and a half came after the movie ended, and myself and the other 2 people in the theater walked out with jaws dropped. I approached them to see what they thought and we didn't even know where to start in complaining about how bad it was. We all got a good laugh eventually and one of the guys said he just moved out to Hollywood to act and this movie really motivated him. He said if actors with talent this bad could find work then he was sure to do quite well.

I do want to find out the back story of this flick. It had a 7.6 or 7.7 when i first gave it a 2 out of 8 stars. I saw the next day, after my rating that it climbed to 7.8 which really got under my skin so i had second thoughts and went back to rate it a 1... again, my first 1 star i think...... So, i really want to find out if the paychecks of the crew were withheld unless they all gave it great ratings? Was this movie made just to appease some relative of Sivertson's simply so he could get funding for a real project. Was this an inside joke amongst friends to see how bad a movie could be and still get people to watch in the age of "MoviePass'? I mean, all three of us watching this only went because there was nothing else to see, we all had already cycled through every other possible movie available that week.

Oh, and PLEASE don't think this is a movie so bad it's funny, like The Room or Battlefield Earth. it's not even comical in a sad way, it's just SAD people would waste their time making or watching this..... hmm, this movie had to be a tax right off or something... i really wanna know!

mesmerizing and heartbreaking

I was really taken aback with this one. I love David Lynch and this film has elements similar to his films. Mostly the supernatural, 'other-worldly' nature of that kind of film. The lead's performance was incredibly strong and I commend her for handling such a challenging role with grace and honesty. The score is worth noting and I felt mostly that this small indie completely tackled an incredibly difficult subject with originality, suspense and good writing. Without spoiling it, I'll just say, I was riveted and the ending does not disappoint! Highly recommend!

A unique and interesting premise
Viknesh_Silvalingam19 May 2019
Independent films have the ability to tell unique stories that studio films would rather not touch. This film definitely has that going for it. Tight storytelling as you can tell with the run time shows confidence in the story rather than leathering it with unnecessary minutes. Give this film a chance if you are looking for original storytelling.

High concept.
Graham-joey15 May 2019
Small budget indie with very interesting concept. Didn't know exactly what the tone of this was going to be exactly but it ends up being quite the novel approach to parental grieving. It brings up some nice parallels between what losing a child is like and how that can feel like the most catastrophic thing in the world. The acting starts off a little shaky but gets better as it goes. The scene where Anne sees her own book. Wow. Interesting stuff!

It is a wonderful story that gives hope.
maria-morgunova2 May 2019
I am grateful to the author for this story. I like it very much. The actors are good. Sara Wolfkind is very expressive and talented actress. The couple is very nice too. I would say, it is a wonderful ensemble at all. What they do is an example of a classical style of acting, which is great. I like how the film director works with details. Love All You Have Leftooks, toys, flowers - all these are elements of real life, and it is very nice to see that there are no special effects in this film. We can see live human communication, sympathy and how people can support each other. I also like the philosophical metaphors. They show the characters' inner world and help to understand the message of the story. Wonderful work of the director of photography. Music is beautiful. I would love to see more stories from the Matt Sivertson and his team.

A bold and unique drama
JGReviews14 February 2019
Love All You Have Left is about a grieving mother who has recently lost her daughter in a school shooting. While mourning, the mother is visited by a girl who claims to be Anne Frank.

Love All You Have Left has a bold and unique story about dealing with seemingly insurmountable grief. I recently became a father, so stories about the death of a child have had a larger impact on me of late. Obviously school shootings are becoming more and more common these days and I think strike fear into just about every parent as well. The film certainly resonated with me. When I watch independent films, I look first and foremost for unique and compelling storytelling and this film definitely had that. If you're looking for an original drama, I'd highly recommend checking out Love All You Have Left!

An intimate, supernatural twist on a familiar theme
alexanderhanno31 December 2018
At the outset, "Love All You Have Left" resembles a number of familiar stories (namely "Rabbit Hole") that depict a couple grappling with the recent death of their child and for a moment, it seems as if it will follow the same (albeit moving and tragic) plot we've seen before. However, Matt Sivertson's film ultimately subverts expectation and instead incorporates a supernatural (though not eerie) element, similar in vibe to the recent "A Ghost Story", that is quite welcome and full of intrigue. This twist coupled with some nice and very intentional framing creates a unique lens through which to examine the crushing pain a parent faces when their child leaves this world too soon. An intimate piece worth learning from.

Sincere and sweet.
whitneywegmanwood3 December 2018
This film is sincere and sweet and will pull at the heart-strings. I appreciate that the writing does not spoon-feed the audience and that many elements are left to the audiences' own interpretation. The style of the story-telling made me think of "The Fall" by Tarsem Singh and some various stage productions I have seen, namely "The Grey Zone." I can't really go into deep explanation of why it makes me think of these two shows without giving away too much of the story, but if you enjoy that style of story-telling this film is for you. Final thoughts, an artistic film that will require a tissue.

Unique beautiful story
freyamoran8 September 2019
This was a uniquely beautiful and interesting story. So many movies these days have the same plot and storyline and this gives you something different. I feel like the director/writer clearly thought outside the box which I love. Definitely one to watch if you want to see something fresh from the usual. A great little indie flick.

A subtle gem of a film
jblockbuster13 September 2019
A beautifully written and directed indie gem. The lead actresses are doing a stellar job in my opinion to capture the audience. I was hooked. This film is not about big revelations and blockbuster-y sci fi, but about subtlety and every day revelations, which can be, nevertheless, earth shattering. Specifically as German viewer, always careful if subjects touch on 2nd world war facts, I found the film one I'd highly recommend.

Ambitious Storytelling
TheAll-SeeingI14 February 2019
Matt Siverton is the writer/director behind Love All You Have Left, a beautifully filmed tale that's as ambitious in its storyline's conception as it is in its successful on-screen execution. Remarkable in premise yet elegant in its telling, Siverton's film incredulously allows us to discover Anne Frank in the attic of a modern-day home. Indeed, this is the very same journaling Anne Frank forced to live in an attic in terror alongside her family during World War II, only to be discovered by the Nazis just weeks before their war machine crumbled.

Siverton's film first introduces us to the sadly beautiful Juliette, played with wonderful depth and pathos by Caroline Amiguet. After the death of a daughter at the hands of school shooters, Juliette soon discovers a girl living in her attic. And from that discovery, pain is both relived and reconfigured.

Through beautiful writing, cinematography, and exceedingly fluid editing, Love All You Have Left reminds us that grief is simply the most brutal, crushing attribute of the human condition. And in an end that in no way disappoints, Siverton also reminds us that not only can we persevere after loss, but that finding a way to do so is nothing short of our life's work.

Eloquent exploration of grief
jc-655-8694343 June 2019
Caroline Amiguet carries the film with a strong emotional authenticity in her role as the grieving mother of a much-loved child who is killed in a school shooting. The opening sequence is remarkable for its efficacy in packing in joy, loss, grief and unspoken tragedy through a series of wonderfully conceived shots. The film has a very original premise that connects two otherwise seemingly unrelated characters and worlds in order to explore the philosophy of loss. This could have become unwieldy in execution but instead the film delivers an assured narrative that is both heartwarming and eloquent. Please do watch. The film offers such food for thought.

How is it possible?
pedronunesnomundo24 July 2021
How is it possible to have reviews for exactly the same film that put it on top and at the same time in the sub-basement of any kind of interest???

...Maybe it's not such a mysterious thing.

To untie the dilemma, I propose this: after seeing the trailer for the film, it seemed to me a product so amateur and ridiculous that I have no intention of seeing this movie at all... Why don't you do this simple exercise yourself?
