The Dark Tower movie may not have turned out as good as fans hoped it would be. But there's one good thing that may come from it. All the Dark Tower hype and the upcoming TV series may have inspired Stephen King to write another novel set in that fantastical world.
The last novel in the series that King wrote that most people are aware of is called The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower and it was released back in 2004. He surprised fans in 2012 with another limited-edition book called The Dark Tower: The Wind Through the Keyhole. Now, all these years later we may be getting a new story and I couldn't be more excited!
King revealed the news himself at a recent book-signing for his new novel Sleeping Beauties that he co-wrote with his son Owen. When asked if he would give us at least one more Dark Tower story,...

The Dark Tower is heading for its home release in the UK in December. Here are all the details you need...
Off the back of not very impressive reviews, the first film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower saga - starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey - struggled to gain much traction at the Us box office, only scrounging up $19.5m in its opening weekend. Whilst plans are still afoot for a television series based on the books, there are surely a few question marks over the planned film sequel to this particular movie.

While the Dark Tower may be having a rough go with critics, there is still a TV series in the works at Sony and they've announced a pretty amazing hiring! Come inside for more!
All day today, you've likely been bombarded with movie reviews for The Dark Tower, saying it's terrible, don't see it, burn the witch, whatever it is most angry reviewers say now and again. While that's been the general consensus with most reviews, unless you read our more Down-to-Earth review (shameless plug), there is a TV series still in the works at Sony and they're not letting a few not-so favorable reviews slow them down.
According a report by THR, Sony has hired the former showrunner for The Walking Dead, Glen Mazzara, to have the same title for The Dark Tower TV series.

With all the media hype and fan outrage over The Dark Tower movie, you might have forgotten about the upcoming TV series (I know I did). Many fans of Stephen King's sci-fi, horror, fantasy, Western epic novels have pushed back against the film's trailers, citing a lack of consistency with King's literary vision (and the brutal Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic reviews). The primary concern being that a sub-two hour movie can't begin to address the scope or scale of King's universe... but a TV series, well, that's another matter entirely.
THR reports that veteran television writer/producer/showrunner Glen Mazarra (The Walking Dead, The Shield) has been tapped as showrunner for The Dark Tower TV series, which as this moment does not have a network has not been secured yet. However, though the show is in its very early stages, it is widely expected to go straight-to-series as a...

With The Dark Tower opening in theaters this weekend, moviegoers will be transported to Mid-World on the big screen, but the seminal Stephen King book series is making some progress on the small screen as well, with a showrunner now set.
According to THR, Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead, Damien) is set to serve as showrunner for The Dark Tower TV series from Media Rights Capital and Sony Pictures Television. The series is currently in the development stages, as it still needs to find a network to call home, but it's expected to comprise 10–13 episodes and filming could begin as early as 2018 if things move forward (The Dark Tower's box office performance could be a factor in whether or not the series comes to fruition).

Back in the long-ago age of 1978, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction published a novella called The Gunslinger by Stephen King, who at the time had just rocketed from obscurity to the best-seller list with his books Carrie, 'Salem's Lot, The Shining and The Stand. Already regarded as a master of horror fiction, the author proved just as adept at epic fantasy, telling a story about an archetypal western hero named Roland, on a quest through a mystical desert on a ravaged parallel Earth, in pursuit of a...

We know all about Norman Bates and Patrick Bateman, but what about their homes? Let's take a look inside...
Nb: The following contains spoilers for Silence Of The Lambs, Psycho, Seven, American Psycho, Manhunter and A Place In The Sun series two. We may be lying about that last one.
As programmes like Through The Keyhole and Homes Under The Hammer prove, you can tell an awful lot about a person from the house they live in. But those programmes always focused on relatively well-adjusted types - peeople who had jobs in television or sport, or maybe a man named Ken from the home counties who's just bought a bungalow at auction and wants to do it up for a tidy profit. That kind of thing.
What might the homes of the more criminally minded tell us about them? What kind of soft furnishings do they like?...

Throughout the history of cinema there are countless adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe’s work, from D. W. Griffith’s early take on The Sealed Room through Roger Corman’s series of lo-fi refittings of the 60s up to last year’s attempt to adapt The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether in Stonehearst Asylum. Looking back at two loose Italian adaptations of Poe’s classic horror short The Black Cat, Arrow’s new Edgar Allan Poe’s Black Cats set sees a towering duo of giallo cinema auteurs picking and choosing their favorite elements of the original tale and molding them to their supernatural, blade-wielding will with blood-spilling glee and cinematic aplomb.

One of my happiest memories of TV as a child was the Stars In Their Eyes grand final night. The Matthew Kelly years of the show may look rather quaint in an era of spinning chairs, dancing celebrities and X Factor shoutiness, but it was actually ahead of its time as an entertainment format.
From turning Reg the butcher and Barbara from accounts into stars for five minutes, to public phone votes for the winner, it was in many ways a proto-Pop Idol and X Factor.
The key difference between Stars In Their Eyes and what followed was the complete absence of cynicism or profiteering. It probably helped Basil from Basingstoke raise a few more quid with his George Formby covers act, but there was never any pretense that the show would be life-changing.
