Exclusive: Deadline has the first exclusive tracks from Marcelo Zarvos’ A Journal for Jordan score, which is set for release tomorrow via Sony Music Masterworks—ahead of the Sony Pictures title’s release in theaters on December 25.
The latest film directed by two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington is based on the true story of First Sergeant Charles Monroe King (Michael B. Jordan), a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Eleven months in to 2021, and Warner Bros. movie streaming strategy on HBO Max is still going strong. Now the list of new releases for November 2021 on HBO Max is highlighted by yet another big ticket film.
King Richard, starring Will Smith, is set to arrive on HBO Max and in theaters on Nov. 19. The movie will tell the story of Richard Williams, the father and coach of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams. Smith is already getting some early awards buzz for the role so Oscar-heads may want to check this one out.

November is a good month for saying goodbye on HBO Max. The streaming platform will host the final 2021 episodes of HBO late-night staples “Real Time with Bill Maher” and the Emmy Award-winning “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” the season finales of Max originals “Love Life” and “Doom Patrol,” and also provide home viewers their last opportunity to watch “Dune” on HBO Max until sometime in 2022 (“Dune” leaves HBO Max on November 21).
But beyond those conclusions, there are some huge premieres as well: Oscar contender “King Richard” arrives on November 19 with Will Smith in the lead role, the back-half of “Gossip Girl” Season 1 will make its debut at some point, and the HBO Music Box series continues with the Alanis Morrisette documentary “Jagged” (which the singer roundly criticized) and a new feature on Dmx. All of that content, plus a number of library classics, including but not limited to “Moonstruck,...

There is indeed a pay gap between Rose Byrne and partner Bobby Cannavale; she is the primary income earner in their family. The two have been together since 2012 and share two sons. The 40-year-old Neighbors actress and 49-year-old Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie alum are also coworkers; they co-starred in the 2014 Annie remake, the 2014 film Adult Beginners, the 2015 Melissa McCarthy movie Spy, a 2018 episode of Angie Tribeca—of which he was also a cast member, and the recently released short film Martha the Monster. Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale have the sweetest relationship that we can't help but adore. The pair started dating in 2012 and now have two sons together, Rocco and Rafa. Not only do they work together as parents at home, but they also frequently share the screen in films like Spy, Annie, and Adult Beginners. The two have never admitted to being married, but they share so much that Rose sometimes refers to Bobby as her husband. While they maintain a pretty private relationship, Bobby will occasionally share cute couple photos on his Instagram, which we'll gratefully swoon over.

No doubt about it: The 1980s was a strange time to channel surf. Those neon-tinted, big-haired, irony-free days have provided Internet curio-seekers with fodder for infinite terabytes of grainy, colorful ephemera. And one of the cornerstones of weird Eighties television was "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling" (G.L.O.W. for short), an all-female pro-wrestling league whose exploits were filmed in Las Vegas and syndicated nationwide.

Warning: What you’re about to read is something of a Cinderella story.
Matt Spicer had only a couple of shorts under his belt, but when he sent his “Ingrid Goes West” screenplay to his agent, he got a call saying Aubrey Plaza wanted to play the lead — and then, Plaza was such a fan that she helped wrangle co-stars Elizabeth Olsen and O’Shea Jackson Jr. Things went so smoothly, production began just eight months after Spicer sent his agent the script.
And that’s when the trouble started.
The filmmakers lost a full day of shooting after a Santa Clarita wildfire destroyed one of their sets, while a plumbing problem at another location turned a house into a biohazard. Spicer also accidentally walked through a glass door, miraculously escaping with just a single two-inch gash on his arm.

It appears Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale could be walking down the aisle soon.
Byrne, 37, was spotted out and about in her native Australia last week, wearing a stunning rock — hinting that the pair are planning nuptials. The square-cut bling appears to be white gold and feature a halo of diamonds. Reps for the pair have not commented on a possible engagement.
The couple, who have been dating for over four years, are parents to son Rocco, 9 months.
The Vinyl star and Byrne not only share a life offscreen, but have also appeared together onscreen in Annie, Spy and Adult Beginners.

Ever since his debut feature Shotgun Stories, filmmaker Jeff Nichols has provided a voice for the South with films like Mud, Take Shelter and the action-thriller Midnight Special earlier this year. What he hadn’t done before was to tell a true story taken from a lesser-known part of the South, and a couple whose bravery helped lead to changes in the Constitution, specifically about men and women of different races being able to marry.
Nichols ended up writing and directing Loving, based on the true tale of Richard and Mildred Loving (as played by Joel Edgerton and Preacher’s Ruth Negga), who fall in love in Virginia in the late ‘50s. When she becomes pregnant, they go to Washington, DC to get married, essentially breaking Virginia laws about mixed race married couples. The work of Daniel Clowes already has a lineage with the Sundance Film Festival as it once served as the launchpad for the last “Clowes” graphic novel-to-film adaptation. There is a distinct chance that Wilson, a project that once had Alexander Payne attached to direct, will follow in the footsteps of Art School Confidential and carve out a little fest premiere before theatrical release. The film gods were kind to Craig Johnson with his break out, sophomore film The Skeleton Twins as it claimed the Sundance’s Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award and did some healthy box-office. The film demonstrated the flexible acting range of Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader in working with the more serious and humorous tonalities, and for Johnson it deftly displays how he excels in comedic and dramatic writing. Starring Judy Greer, Woody Harrelson, Laura Dern and Cheryl Hines, production took place in Minnesota this past June,...

Prior to his 2012 Sundance Institute supported/Sundance Film Festival debuted film based on both his one-man show and novel of the same name, we had no clue who Mike Birbiglia was or what kind of commune following he had. We quickly saw the genius in Sleepwalk with Me (here is our interview with him back in Park City). Fast-forward three years later and a massive fanbase to boot, we’ve been catching him in bit parts in Adult Beginners, Digging for Fire and this year’s Trainwreck until there was mention of Don’t Think Twice. With principal photography on this NYC shot sophomore film beginning in late August 2015, we might effectively be jumping the gun a little with an inclusion on the 2016 list but stranger things have happened.

For some people, the seemingly annual Nicholas Sparks movie is an event along the lines of a Marvel release, so for those few, "The Choice" can't come soon enough. And as the formula dictates, romance will come after some carefully contrived hardship, and the first trailer is here to fill you in on the details. Ross Katz ("Adult Beginners") directs the film, starring Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer, Alexandra Daddario, Tom Welling, Tom Wilkinson, and Maggie Grace, about a seemingly happy couple, who of course, face difficulty but will probably wind up happy ever after anyway. Here's the official synopsis: When feisty medical student Gabby Holland moves in next door to perennial ladies’ man Travis Shaw, it sends them both on a romantic journey neither ever dreamed possible. Travis has always believed a serious relationship with a woman would cramp his easygoing lifestyle, while Gabby is all set to settle down her long-term boyfriend — until an.

It's love at first sight for Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer in the trailer for Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Choice.
Travis Parker and Gabby Holland are two young people from different worlds – and yet they're instantly drawn to each when their puppies make friends (and more).
One slight problem is that Gabby's spoken for, and poor Travis is going to have to get through Superman himself Tom Welling to win her heart.
The film version of Sparks's 2007 novel was shot on location in Wilmington, North Carolina, home of Dawson's Creek, Sleepy Hollow and Under The Dome.
Director Ross Katz's (Adult Beginners) supporting cast includes True Detective's Alexandra Daddario, Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson and Taken's Maggie Grace.
The Choice opens on February 5, 2016 in the Us.

The 44-year-old Parks and Recreation alum and the 37-year-old comic and actor, who had appeared on her show and plays Ruxin on FX's The League, have not commented. According to Us Weekly, conflicting schedules were to blame for the split. While they were dating, Poehler and Kroll had attended several celebrity events together, most recently the premiere of the comedy film Adult Beginners, which stars the actor, in Hollywood, California in April. First off, I want to apologize for this column's absence this past couple of weeks. When It Follows and Ex Machina arrived on Blu-ray back on July 14 I honestly completely spaced and forgot all about this column, which is a shame considering those are two of my top three movies of 2015 so far. That said, if you weren't aware they were released you can click on either title and purchase them now. Otherwise, here are this week's new DVD and Blu-ray releases along with a boatload of new release dates including Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Duke of Burgundy (another one of this year's best films), Mad Max: Fury Road (probably my favorite film of 2015 so far) and Furious 7.

It may not have had all the trappings of a major studio comedy, but it had talent. This year's indie comedy wonder "Adult Beginners" brought together the talent of Nick Kroll, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Jane Krakowski, Bobby Moynihan, Joel McHale, Mike Birbiglia and more for a sweet tale of arrested development. And if you missed it, we've got several Blu-ray copies for some lucky readers. Directed by Ross Katz, the story follows a young, hipster entrepreneur who crashes and burns on the eve of his company’s big launch. With his entire life in disarray, he leaves Manhattan to move in with his estranged pregnant sister, brother-in-law and three year-old nephew in the suburbs—only to become their manny. Faced with real responsibility, he may finally have to grow up—but not without some bad behavior first. The movie is funny and charming (read our review) and it's worth carving some time out for.

As the Oscar-nominated producer of "In The Bedroom" and "Lost In Translation," and director of brooding HBO movie "Taking Chance," Ross Katz has come off as a Very Serious Dude on paper. That is, until now. The director has taken a much lighter approach with his feature-length theatrical debut, "Adult Beginners." The story follows a man whose life has hit a crossroads, forcing him to move in with this sister so he can try and get himself together. And it's a charmer, a film with its heart in the right place, featuring comedic chemistry bursting between Nick Kroll, Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale (read our review). Moreover, it's always great to see a talent who can balance the serious and the funny with ease. Katz’ previous experience in drama helps “Adult Beginners” resonate on an emotional level, coming off as refreshingly deep in the way it spreads the theme of...
