Exclusive: Christina Anthony (Mixed-ish), Ray Santiago (Ash vs. Evil Dead) and Melanie J. Newby (Halt & Catch Fire) are set as series regulars opposite Amber Ruffin in NBC comedy pilot Non-Evil Twin from Universal Television.
Written by Ruffin and Kenny Smith, the multi-camera pilot stars Ruffin playing the dual roles of twin sisters Angie and Amber. Angie is the ruthless CEO of AngieCorp, who is as heartless as she is rich. Angie instills fear in everyone she meets, except her caring sister, Amber, who only sees the good in her. Amber—a pushover when it comes to Angie—is forced to step in as the leader of AngieCorp, a Fortune 500 company, despite knowing little about business and even less about the way her sister has been running the corporation.
Anthony will play Christina, Angie’s assistant/acolyte who believes she’s the smartest person in the room and easily annoyed by others.

Heche will play Corrine Cuthbert, an infamous trial attorney who often is called upon by police unions to defend officers accused of violent crime. She is wicked smart, using humor as a distraction while she verbally destroys anyone who gets in her way.
All Rise follows the chaotic, hopeful and sometimes absurd lives of its judges, prosecutors and public defenders, as they work with bailiffs, clerks and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles amidst a flawed legal process. Among them is newly appointed Judge Lola Carmichael (Simone Missick), a highly regarded and impressive deputy district attorney who doesn’t intend to sit back on the bench in her new role, but instead leans in, immediately pushing the boundaries and challenging the expectations of what a judge can be.

Michael Schur's choice of TV subjects started out very small, growing over time until his latest show is about life, the universe, and everything. Schur started out writing for Greg Daniels on The Office, telling obscure stories about obscure people whose lives and dreams rarely grew beyond a paper company branch office in Scranton. Then he and Daniels created Parks and Recreation, which began almost as small, focusing on the staff of an Indiana town's parks department, before expanding outward until Leslie and Ben both had prominent national government jobs (one of them perhaps becoming President by the end). Then he and Dan Goor did Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is about New York cops, focusing mainly on squadroom goofiness but occasionally showing the detectives taking down drug rings, mobsters, and even a serial killer. It’s time for Truth Be Told to deal with some brutal honesty from NBC. The Peacock has trimmed the freshman sitcom’s episode order from 13 to 10 following its second episode, which only drew a 0.6 in the 18-49 demo. Although NBC has not yet officially cancelled the series, it certainly doesn’t look promising. Truth Be Told airs Friday nights with live episodes of Undateable. The comedy stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Mitch, Tone Bell as Russell, Vanessa Lachey as Tracy, and Bresha Webb as Angie. Here’s how NBC describes the series: If you can think it, they will most likely say it in this unabashed new comedy about two diverse couples — Mitch (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Saved by the Bell) and Tracy (Vanessa Lachey, Dads), and Russell (Tone Bell, Bad Judge) and Angie (Bresha Webb, Hung) — a fearless foursome who are both neighbors and best friends. As they navigate through life side by side,...

NBC's new comedy series, Truth Be Told, premieres Friday, October 16, 2015 at 8:30pm Et/Pt; 7:30 Central. NBC bills the show thusly: "Best friends. Real talk. Uncensored." Truth Be Told stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Vanessa Lachey, Tone Bell, and Bresha Webb. Among fans and media alike, shows scheduled on Friday evenings are said to be in the "death slot." Sometimes, though, Friday slots give a new series time to find an audience. Truth be told -- we'll just have to wait and see if Truth Be Told is cancelled or renewed.

With pickups for the fall season in full swing, NBC is betting on three comedies, from Ride Along producer Will Packer, Hot in Cleveland‘s Suzanne Martin and Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer.
People Are Talking, created by DJ Nash, centers on two neighborhood couples who meet often to obsess over everything from sex, class and race to their suspicions that the new babysitter is a porn star. Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tone Bell are two of the main foursome, Packer will exec-produce and Pam Fryman (How I Met Your Mother) directed the pilot.
Crowded, from Martin and actor Sean Hayes, is yet another multigenerational family comedy (following Modern Family, The Goldbergs, Black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat and others in what seems to be a never-ending trend) about parents whose future plans are derailed when their two adult daughters experience trouble in their personal and professional lives and move back in. Welcome back to Stay Tuned, Vulture's TV advice column. Each Wednesday, Margaret Lyons answers your questions about your various TV triumphs and woes. Need help? Have a theory? Want a recommendation? Submit a question! You can email staytuned@nymag.com, leave a comment, or tweet @margeincharge with the hashtag #staytuned. A few years ago I concluded it wasn't worth watching new shows as they hit the air, because some might prove to be terrible (Mysteries of Laura, to use a current example), cancelled quickly (Red Band Society), or both (Bad Judge). At this point in the TV season, though, which rookie shows do you recommend based on quality and potential longevity? I'm already on board with the shows on cable and streaming, so no need to sell me on Better Call Saul, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt or Togetherness. But how about network shows? — Ben Your system is weird to me, Ben!

Early in the first episode of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," the title character, played by Ellie Kemper, smiles as she explores New York City for the first time. It is among the biggest, widest, happiest smiles I have ever witnessed, on screen or in real life, Kemper opening her mouth so widely that you can practically count all her teeth. It is a smile that holds nothing back, and it's emblematic of the rest of "The Office" alum's performance. Whatever Kemper is asked to do by "Kimmy Schmidt" creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, she commits to fully, like a scene at a club where she hurls her body across the dance floor with abandon. It is a great, overjoyed lead performance, and I can't imagine this show working at all — even on Netflix which scooped up the 13-episode first season (all episodes will be released after midnight Pacific tonight) after...

Just hours ahead of its move to Thursday, "The Blacklist" has been assured its performance in the new time period won't actually matter.
