I love this episode. It's one of the more psychologically involved ones. It's super fast paced. But it uses a flawed joke formula. While exemplifying a sheltered experience using mispronounced words is a tried & true comedic vehicle, mispronouncing words you hear is only funny with a foreign accent. If Jenna had been reading a note with the word suburb and pronounced it "soobarb" it would have been funny. And maybe that would have been funny if Paul spoke like that but he doesn't. So it wasn't. I hate that I notice logic errors like that coz it diminishes my escapism but I do. According to rules I need one more sentence.

Chain Reaction of Mental Anguish (#5.9)
ComedyFan201010 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Liz has problems with her relationship and needs to get a therapist, she chooses Kenneth for it and feels better, but this reminds Kenneth of his father figure pig whom he ate and causes his mental anguish. Jack now takes over for Kenneth and makes him feel better but it brings back his own daddy issues. Tracy is supporting his "son's" restaurant, which has no future. And Jenna and her boyfriend are facing problems because for them moving forward means different things.

Not a ad episode. Not as funny as they usually are, but has a smart and interesting idea. The only really funny part is Jenna and her boyfriend. Although the sooburbs joke was a fail. Just like the reviewer before me said. I noticed that as well. It didn't ruin the episode in any way, but it just caught my attention.

Will Forte steals this episode
safenoe24 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Will Forte returns as the Jenna lookalike, and he's got more than he bargained for big time. Anyway, Tracy Jordan's son has a Godzilla business adventure that's hilarious big time. I like this episode, especially with Kenneth becoming Liz's counsellor.

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.

One grip I have...the "phasing out" of Danny (Cheyenne Jackson). No real explanation really about why he's appearing less and less.
