I will never understand why the mom treated her beautiful kids the way she did. Brett should have never been sent to prison in my opinion. It appears his sister died in 2018. She and Brett both have been through so much in their lives. Absolutely tragic how the mother abused them both.

I saw this years ago and have never been able to forget it. I was very sad to discover Alissa has passed away. She was a truly an amazing person and she showed, by being severely brave, what a miscarriage of justice took place when her brother was put on trial as an adult. This documentery is very honest and well made. The scene at the end when Alissa confronts her father -- the only adult who could have changed the course of their childhoods -- is literally seared into my mind forever. This is not the usual true crime junkfood. More than worth your while and absolutely should be food fir thought for our justice system.
