Back to normal

So, a regular chapter, not CIA-like operations in another country or things like that. And Tricia Helfer is a treasure, so that is a plus. I liked this one.

Enjoy Tru Valentino/Rookie Thorsen!
jeersNcheers9 October 2021
Hope the Thorsen character continues! Love his acting and back story!

But I could definitely do without the pity-party comments...

Just one line I have a problem with

The firewoman talking about her fellow firemen and says I better get in those guys are useless without me. Well I could buy that if I was listening to a podcast series but really we can see people!!

Stop already

Most of the episode was ok, but getting really tired of the pity party "people who look like us". The Rookie used to be my favorite series, but every since last season it's not even in my top five favorites.

Just okay.

Warning: Spoilers
Another draggy episode. The only spark comes from the Queen of Hallmark Christmas Movies, Tricia Helfer. She's fantastic as a big time crook.

Remember how great the first few seasons of Castle were? Nathan is just phoning it in these days.

Oh come on

Warning: Spoilers
Used to be one of my favorite shows, now it's just hysterical unrealistic. In the first episode they manages to pull of a rescue mission against a long time drug boss. In the second episode they all of a sudden manages to stop a mastermind thief, wanted for 20 years? Come on...

Such a shame
iqxjuvahzn4 October 2021
It used to be such a fun show that I could overlook all the procedural mistakes. Now it's become just one big woke pity party I can't.

The advisors for this show are worthless or nobody cares.

You don't use your radio's when there's a gas leak! That is real rookie stuff and shows the poor state of this show.

And stop the whole BLM police hating on police shows.

Episode was fine but...
AshBoshog4 October 2021
Why did that criminal admit that she was doing a heist and say no one could ever catch her it was really cringe to watch that.

The Rookie and The Thief
claudio_carvalho3 November 2021
Harper is assigned as the T. O. of the notorious Aaron Thorsen, a black man accused of murdering his roommate and best friend in Paris and considered not-guilty later by the French justice. Bradford is promoted to sergeant. Meanwhile, Nolan and Chen stop a speedy yellow fancy convertible with the blonde Claire Ivey driving. They soon realize that she is a smart thief never arrested by the police and she has come to L. A. for a heist. They are assigned to keep her under surveillance, but the stakeout does not work well.

"Five Minutes" is another reasonable episode of "The Rookie". It is ridiculous to see the almost fifty-year-old John Nolan ashamed to ask Bailey out in a date. The guy divorced Sarah, has had a romance with the young Chen and Jessica, with Dr. Grace Sawyer, and now is without courage to date Bailey? My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "Five Minutes"

Get back to real beat cop stories, please!
aztrailblazzer5 October 2021
Let's hope the rest of the season isn't as bad as the first two episodes.

The writers gave up on even remotely realistic story lines for completely laughable ones. As if a bunch of patrol officers would be tasked with trying to figure out what some celebrity criminal is planning and stopping it.

And the level of political correctness is nauseating. Stop worrying about being "woke" and get back to tales of ROOKEY cops on the beat. Don't waste the talented cast on this garbage.

In the meantime I'll stick with Blue Bloods where they at least explore issues from all angles and not just one!

What has happened to the Rookie?
sheenalucas2228 January 2022
I nearly turned it off but love the main characters so much felt disloyal doing so. However, I don't like the new GF. We always have to have PC rammed down our throats. Can we not just enjoy it for what it was a mostly comedic cop show.

Are there no other cops in LA
craiggatt-7217014 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As much as I enjoy the rookie it's really jumping the shark. A beautiful world renowned thief shows up in town and is very forthcoming with the cops that she's guilty of all the suspected thefts shes commited, and that she's there to commit another. Of course the only police she seems to encounter is Nolan, Chen and the rest of the gang, who apparently are the only police officers in LA. Do detectives not do any work? If an international thief is in town would you really entrust her capture to some beat cops...even at roll call its the same 4 or 5 of them that talk. The other officers stand in the background like mute simpletons. God they must all hate Nolan. Its becoming so bad its actually funny.
