Heaven help the next generation of American women if Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising represents what Hollywood thinks of them. In Nicholas Stoller's sequel to his 2014 Neighbors, even the with-it girls — the ones too freethinking to join a cookie-cutter sorority — are so dumb they make the bros in the first movie look like elder statesmen. Smarts aren't the point, of course — the reason these freshmen strike out on their own, renting a house next to Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, is that they hunger for their very own place to get stoned. But in their

If you’re confused about how James Franco has the time to promote a new film (Neighbors) while starring on Broadway in Of Mice and Men, fear not. Those thick eyebrows and that wry smile belong to none other younger brother, Dave Franco. Yes, there are two! (Well, technically three.) Luckily there’s room for multiple Francos in our current pop culture universe. But which one deserves your undying love?
In Neighbors, Franco the Younger plays the VP to Zac Efron‘s fraternity president, flaunting a sculpted chest and a pretty strong Robert DeNiro impression. After roles in films like Warm Bodies, 21 Jump Street and Now You See Me, Dave is poised for his breakout moment this year, one that sets him even further apart from his older brother. The two share great hair genes, a toothy grin and admiration for Seth Rogen, but their respective bodies of work are much different.

Sure, the Oscars, Globes and pretty much every other awards show is over and done with, but MTV still has plenty of golden popcorn to pass around.
Earlier today (March 6) the cable network unveiled the nominees for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, slated to kick off on April 13th at 9:00 pm and hosted by Conan O’Brien.
While many of the categories mirror those of the Academy Awards, the Movie of the Year hopefuls include “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” in addition to the usual “12 Years a Slave,” “American Hustle,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
And of course, everyone will be watching to see who wins the Best Kiss trophy- nominees include Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson, James Franco, Ashley Benson and Vanessa Hudgens, Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller and Emma Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Will Poulter.

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards were announced today and once again it's a grab bag of nominees, but this year is even more curious than most as the one film thought to be the most populist film of the lot, Gravity, comes away with only one nomination and that being for Sandra Bullock for Best Actress. Then you have the Movie of the Year category, which pits The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire against American Hustle, The Wolf of Wall Street and 12 Years a Slave. I don't know how the nominees are decided at the MTV Movie Awards, but I know the winners are supposedly determined by MTV viewers, which means, looking at this list, the Hunger Games crowd is likely to make a huge mark.... or, it could be the Leonardo DiCaprio crowd that became ever-so-vocal after he, predictably, lost Best Actor at the Oscars.

It's rare when a film adaptation lives up the book it was based on so with that in mind I have compiled a list of 40 books that have been adapted for the big screen that we can expect to see in theaters this year. This includes two books from Gillian Flynn, young adult adaptations of work by Veronica Roth, Suzanne Collins and James Dashner, a short story from Dennis Lehane, a Nick Hornby adaptation, and an adaptation written by Nick Hornby, a new John le Carre adaptation and a prequel to the stories written by Tom Clancy as well as a couple comics and graphic novel adaptations from the likes of Frank Miller and Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Alexander O. Smith. I've added everything I could think of and while I'm sure I missed a few, please forgive me and hopefully you'll find something that appeals to your taste on the list.

Joseph Bishara is scoring the upcoming horror thriller 11-11-11. The movie is written and directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III & IV). The film starring Michael Landes, Wendy Glenn and Timothy is inspired by the real-life organization that believes the recurrence of the numbers 11:11 are of spiritual significance and a link to spirit guardians. The story deals with 11 gates of Heaven and how the final gate will open for 49 minutes on November 11th, 2011. Bishara has previously collaborated with the director on the 2008 horror musical Repo! The Genetic Opera. The composer had his biggest box office success of his career to date earlier this year with the horror hit Insidious starring Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson. 11-11-11 is set for a release on November 11, 2011. For updates on the film, visit the official movie website.

Chicago – In various interviews over the years, British filmmaker Danny Boyle has expressed his belief that “your first film is your best film.” It may not be the most technically accomplished or dramatically satisfying work, but it marks a crucial period of freshness and experimentation, as the rookie director becomes acquainted with the creative challenges of feature film production. What makes Boyle such a consistently exciting and vital filmmaker is the fact that he approaches every new film as if it were his first. There are no two films he’s made that share the same genre, the same structure, and the same energy.
He works within genres in order to subvert them, while finding inventive and surprising ways of fusing his artistic sensibilities onto an entirely new cinematic landscape. Occasionally his gambles don’t pay off (“A Life Less Ordinary,” “The Beach”), but most of the time they do in a big way (“Trainspotting,...
