I read Tom Swift and Nancy Drew as a kid. I don't mind most of the changes they have made but turning Tom Swift into an arrogant a**hole was wrong.

Love the topics

For people being cry babies about "political topics" on the show, shut up already. How do you get through life? These are meaningful topics that are very relatable to what's happening in the world right now.
Maybe instead of scoffing because your views are different, open your mind a bit and accept the world needs these stories and lessons so people like you wake up.

Good episode, but I have some concerns

I really enjoyed this episode overall, but please do not make Nancy Drew into a Sci-Fi show. I enjoyed the Tom Swift character and although I believe in the supernatural, I acknowledge that others don't believe in that sort of thing, so when I say this, obviously take it with a grain of salt. The added technology and legend around the meteor makes a fairly believable show into something that is totally futuristic and unrealistic. Other than the gadgets Tom had (that are no way as of now real functioning devices) that are so unrealistic, I really enjoyed the episode.
Poltics Again!

This show has a great cast. The writers need help. You are going full woke. Social justice etc. You can do what you want but I won't be watching. You had a cool storyline and look to each his own but...I dont need to be taught lessons when I'm watching a tv show. You are on thin ice. Black oppression, gay rights, Asian racism, white people issues. This is NOT what the show was suplised to be or was it?
Awesome Introduction to Tom Swift!

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was great! It really set up Tom Swift as a very compelling character. I hope his spin-off gets picked up, because the technological stuff was really cool in this episode, and I want more! The contrast between Nancy and Tom was hilarious too. People might rate this episode low for being "political", but it explored the dynamics between the black and asian communities in a serious way, and had a really sweet moment between Nick and George. Don't listen to the haters! Those are important convos that need to be shown. Television isn't a vacuum that's separate from the issues in the real world, and we have to start getting comfortable with real issues being addressed on shows.
What is happening to this show?

Seriously WTF? Aside from the completely ridiculous techno stiff Tom brings in what is with all the cliche political preaching all of a sudden? When I first started watching this I loved it for it's dark compelling supernatural but grounded mysteries and the strong smart (non soapbox sadie) girl that solved them. I was also glad it wasn't another show that was forcing wokeness down my throat. But now that's change. Tom Swift and all his cheap unrealistic sci-fi stuff is completely out of place in this show. Along with the heavy PC stuff they are throwing in, stuff like poor old Nick having to go to a white barber who apparently doesn't know how to give him a...correct black hair cut? And of course they bring in the evil patriarchy and a homophobic dad because of course...
Can this show go back to what made it good please?

Get over it!

It's sad that people complain about real life situations that others go through as something "political". Get over it. Just because you don't or haven't experienced it, doesn't mean it's not an actual issue for others. It's not political but reality.
Clearly a spin-off setup.

It's a no for me.
Hard. Pass.
I'd never even heard of Tom Swift and after the way they characterized him for this, I'd never go near the books the character originated from.
He was so gross and arrogant but ya know.. with daddy issues. Give me a break.
I had been loving Nancy Drew and this season has tried to be subtle with their woke but it's straying further and further from what Nancy Drew was actually about.
I loved Nick as a character but he's went full crybaby now. I absolutely despise George having a ghost copilot. I'm sure it's just a jumping off point for George to start using they/them pronouns. If that happens, y'all can have Nancy, Nick, Odette, Carson, and every other ghost in Horseshoe Bay. I won't be hanging around.
I didn't say all of this because I have a problem with someone saying call me by this or by that. I'm just really sick of that being all that's in television right now. I didn't think you could politicize something as tried and true as Nancy Drew but by gawd, The CW has done it. Now stop doing it.

Bravo CW

This show is a cheesy CW mess. There is no doubting that. So many plotholes and spoon feeding of information and complete destruction of what Nancy Drew really is. That being said, this episode, like the previous one, tackled real topics that we rarely see discussed on television. So I applaud CW for taking the time to incorporate representation and education into the story. The hateful reviews here only prove why episodes like this are necessary. I hope some of you actually learn from the episode instead of whining. Remember, the only people who get offended by shows tackling topics like LGBT acceptance and racism are bigots.
This show is completely losing it!

Why!? I loathe this way of trying to normalize segregation on TV lately. Just because a minority of people are simpletons, who need to project their shortcomings onto others, to feel good about themselves. Doesn't mean it's a cool idea to drag everything down with it. Not a real life situation fools, just your own inferiority complex talking. By the way, the episode was a stupid filler. With a really unlikeable guest character. And what is Nick's point in being in the show, now? Besides whining and being outraged, while waving the victim card all the time, that is?...
Fun episode

I really enjoyed this episode. Interesting story about the meteorite, plus a fun new character in Tom Swift. The fact that this episode upset all the privileged white folks who turn into snowflakes when a person from a marginalized group talks about their experiences was a huge bonus! Those white-supremacist types believe POC should keep quiet and stay out of sight, but Nancy Drew refuses to do that and it's wonderful!
