Parents Guide for
Tropic Thunder (2008)

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .

Sex & Nudity

-A man is shown standing nude on his balcony, although his groin area is censored (the scene is supposed to be taking place on a basic cable E! Hollywood style show).

-A actor portraying a mentally disabled person comments 'you make my pee-pee maker tingle' to a woman.

Violence & Gore

From the red band trailer:

-A man licks a severed head (thinking it's a prop head), with entrails falling from the neck

-A child stabs a man in the back repeatedly (blood is shown exiting the wound) and then the man throws the child in the river

-A man is acting being shot with copious amounts of blood squibs being used

(All of this is done in a tasteful, comedic manner)

Profanity

From the red band trailer, it's obvious there will be tons of mild and strong cursewords, but mostly used in a comedic sense. There seems to be a slim chance of any really intense language (cunting nigger fuck)

-A character is shown drinking Jose Cuervo straight from the bottle.

-One of the main characters is described as a "comedian turned cocaine addict".

A majority of the film takes places in the jungles of Vietnam, in which a small level isolated war seems to be taking place. There are various explosions, gunfights, stabbings, etc.
