In this episode, Spider-Man encounters the scientist Dr. Connors who turned himself into an intelligent, lizard-like creature who, imaginatively, calls himself "the Lizard".

While the Lizard's plan is just your perfect, colorful superhero stuff (the Lizard plans to turn New York into a giant swampland to fill it with mind-controlled lizards), the episode completely omits the Lizard's interesting backstory of him being the mild mannered and highly intelligent scientist Dr. Curt Conners who has lost his arm and tries to regenerate it using lizard DNA (it goes exactly as you expect it to go).

Except for that, this episode is just fine for what it is.
