Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

Bare buttocks in many scenes, both male and female (the female is brief when she is standing up in a large T-shirt). We briefly see the side of a woman's breast. A man briefly fondles a woman's breasts through clothing. A man and a woman are seen lying in a bed naked together, they are covered with a bed sheet. Brief kissing (passionately) is seen throughout the movie. A woman is shown in a bathtub while cradling her pregnant belly which is shown above the water, everything else is under the water and not visible.

Violence & Gore

A man is shot and blood is seen, both sprayed on the ground and on the wound. There are also menacing chases and a fist fight in an alley. A woman has 2 miscarriages and blood is shown both times.

Profanity

two g-d, one Jesus Christ (as a swear word), and three sh*ts

A man refuses a drink and says he's stopped drinking, to which the offering person responds, "shame; it was the one enthusiasm we shared." (paraphased)

Someone dies in a car accident at the very beginning of the movie. Although it is not excessively bloody, it can still be difficult to watch.

When Henry is dying, this can be very frightening and upsetting for children (and adults!) This applies for both the scene where Henry's death is foreshadowed, and when it actually happens.

Henry's involuntary passage into different times and places is not only confusing to the story, but could also qualify as unusual or even frightening to children.

Henry's relationship with Clare while she is still a little girl could be deemed questionable.
