Jude Law reveals Sherlock Holmes costume was like a "razor blade"

While the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jesse Eisenberg and Christopher Walken are keen to pinch costumes they’ve worn in movies, we reckon Jude Law’s a little pickier about what he wears. The Brit actor currently wowing Broadway audiences with his portrayal of Shakespeare’s classic tragic hero, Hamlet, has impressed with his screen togs over the years, looking achingly stylish in the likes of Alfie and The Talented Mr Ripley, yet he wasn’t quite so enamoured with what he wore for his latest movie, Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, saying it felt like a “razor blade” against his throat. It’s a tough life being a film star, eh?

British actor Jude Law has defended his playboy image, insisting women prefer men who are "bad boys". The "Alfie" star has enjoyed a series of relationships in the public eye, and hit the headlines after welcoming a lovechild with an American model in earlier 2009.
He was also photographed enjoying a post-Christmas holiday in Barbados with ex-girlfriend Sienna Miller, who he split from in 2006 after his affair with his children's nanny was exposed. Law admits he isn't very good at "being a good boy" because in the past he's failed to put effort into relationships.
He tells U.S. magazine Parade, "I think women like bad boys. That's been my experience. I just think it's kind of a given. You know, at a certain age you figure out what works for you and being a good boy never worked for me. And if you're a bad boy, they like it. But,

British actor Jude Law has defended his playboy image, insisting women prefer men who are "bad boys".
The Alfie star has enjoyed a series of relationships in the public eye, and hit the headlines after welcoming a lovechild with an American model earlier this year.
But, eventually, you have to grow up and realise relationships are hard work. It's like cultivating anything. They need attention."
And Law insists it is a struggle to correct errors in his private life under the intense scrutiny from the media: "People seem more interested in setting someone up as this bad person, and that disheartens me a little. We all mess up, but we're equally capable of making it better, of healing wounds. It's just a matter of keeping your head on straight. There's a downside to every life. There's a downside to every career. And the downside to my career is the attention I get for what I do. But you learn to deal with it. It's like a fly buzzing around your head. You just have to learn to ignore the fly."

Jude Law's 'Sherlock Holmes' costume felt like a "razor blade" against his throat. The British actor - who portrays the title character's sidekick Watson in the Guy Ritchie blockbuster - was left uncomfortable and hungry while wearing the old-fashioned attire because the restricting collar meant it was difficult for him to swallow his lunch. He explained: "I had to wear this terribly stiff, tight collar as part of my costume which was just horrible. On the first day I actually tried staying in character and wearing it to lunch. It was like trying to swallow sushi with a razor blade around my neck!" The 'Alfie' star recently admitted he thought he was "insane" to sign up to the movie. He

Law: 'Spying Students Were Peeping Toms'

Actor Jude Law has defended his decision to pelt a group of students with oranges after he caught them "spying" on him in his New York apartment, insisting they were acting like "peeping Toms".
The Alfie star has been renting a luxurious pad in Manhattan's Washington Square since the summer, when he began performing in Broadway play Hamlet.
But Law was annoyed to discover his home was so close to New York University student dormitories, and fans would regularly camp out on their balcony just to catch a glimpse of the British hunk.
However, one group of adoring students got a shock in November when Law took aim at them after tiring of the teenagers snapping pictures of him through his window.
Law insists the fruity attack was all in jest - but admits he was driven to act because he felt his privacy was being invaded.
He says, "It was of course, (all for fun), I just got a bit upset. They were spying on me while I was hanging out with the kids and working out...
"It got to the point where I truly felt like (they were) peeping Toms. And where I come from, peeping Toms have things thrown at them - they were lucky I'd run out of eggs!"
But Law wasn't entirely happy with the way he reacted - because he barely hit his target: "My aim was really bad. Only one (orange) landed and six hit various other spots!"

It looks like Jude Law and Sienna Miller are really back on. Miller has been spotted leaving her ex-fiance's New York abode for the second time in a week.
The former lovers - who famously separated in 2006 after the "Alfie" star's sexual tryst with his children's nanny became public - reportedly rekindled their romance this past few weeks.
Both are in New York for their respective plays: Law is currently starring in the Broadway play "Hamlet," while Miller is in "After Miss Julie."
Last week, the "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" star was also leaving Law's apartment mere minutes after he left. They even allegedly spent Thanksgiving together.

Charles Shyer to Direct Chick Buddy Flick 'Bff'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baby Boom and Alfie (2004) director Charles Shyer has signed on to direct a chick flick. Shyer will be behind the lens for the tale of two best friends (Bff, for the acronym-challenged, means best friends forever in girlspeak) who have reunited as adults, only to find one is a country mouse and one is a well-heeled city gal. The script was originally written by Vanessa Parise and Robin Dunne and is now being rewritten by Ellen Greenberg and Hallie Shyer, who is currently co-writing the screenplay for Eloise in Paris along with Charles Shyer, who will also direct. It's hard not to wonder why Greenberg and Shyer are rewriting an original script -- too many cooks in the kitchen, etc. -- but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.
As we all know, reuniting with old friends usually brings a host of problems with it -- especially old rivalries.

Rumours of a romantic reunion between Jude Law and Sienna Miller have gone into overdrive after the actress was photographed leaving her former fiance's New York apartment on Wednesday.
The pair was once engaged to be married, but Miller dumped her longtime lover in 2006 after it was revealed he had cheated on her with his children's nanny.
The Hollywood stars have remained friends since the split and both recently moved to New York City to work on Broadway.
The Alfie actor has been spotted out and about with his former partner several times over the last few weeks - sparking speculation they are giving their relationship another go.
Law's representative recently shot down rumours of a reunion, but tabloid gossips were sent into a spin on Wednesday when Miller was snapped leaving the star's apartment at lunchtime, just six minutes after her former lover left the building.
A source tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "They have never stopped caring about each other and that has quickly become clear. They are taking things incredibly slowly, but they are getting back together again."

Charles Shyer, director of the Father Of The Bride and Alfie remakes, is heading down a more original path with his next movie. He’s signed on to direct the female buddy comedy, Bff. And if you don’t know what that acronym stands for, we’ll help you out: it’s Best Friends Forever. Lol!The fairly low-budget ($20 million) flick will follow the fortunes of former childhood friends who reunite in their hometown many years later to find that one of them has become much, much more successful than the others. Needless to say, complications arise and hilarity, hopefully, ensues.Shyer hasn’t directed since the damp squib that was 2004’s Alfie, but according to the IMDb, he’s in pre-production on a new movie called Eloise In Paris. But with shooting set for the spring on Bff, we imagine that Eloise will be placed on the back burner.
