#1 James Cameron to redo “The Fantastic Voyage”
Now don’t be getting too excited because there’s no news that Cameron will direct the project but Variety does report that Cameron is producing the film and from what I can gather, the project (and a few more to follow) is an effort to make use and money from the expensive technology he spent years prepping for Avatar. It’s a great opportunity to remake this sci-fi classic but with “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem” writer Shane Salerno on board to adapt the original story, I can’t say I’m all that excited.
#2 Natalie Portman starring in “Pride Prejudice and Zombies”
This seems like an odd pairing but Portman does have the looks for period drama though I’m not sure what possessed her to agree to a period piece about a man searching for love amidst a zombie outbreak. Portman

When first we heard about the franchise reboot that is Predators, we couldn't help but think it was a bad idea (after all, look what happened to Alien vs. Predator!), but there must be something in director Nimrod Antal's return to those intergalactic safari hunters, as the project has clocked up yet another quality name to its cast.
Collider tells us that, in addition to the likes of Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo and Alice Braga, the venerable Laurence Fishburne has signed up for some alien bashing.
That's right folks, Morpheus himself is joining the cast to play a tough guy named Roland in the Robert Rodriguez-produced flick.
This marks the second collaboration between Fishburne and Antal afrer their last flick Armored and is a good sign that the new Predator movie could well be a solid return to form. What do you guys think? Leave your comments below.

If Lance Henriksen wasn’t already cool enough with a plethora of cool roles in cool movies, he’s even more awesome now with his recent push into the video game industry.
In one of the biggest video game releases of all time, Modern Warfare 2, Lance plays the voice of General Shepherd and now, he’ll be returning to a role he made famous on screen with Aliens, Alien 3 and the first Aliens vs. Predator film by playing the voice of Bishop in the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator video game.
The new AvP title is being brought to us by Sega and Rebellion Entertainment and in it, Henriksen will be playing the character of Karl Bishop Weyland, a descendant of Charles Bishop Weyland that he played in the first Aliens vs. Predator film.

Square Up For Wife Vs. Ninja

It's not the most obvious of face-offs, perhaps - hardly up there with Alien vs. Predator or Superman Vs. Batman - but Wife Vs. Ninja is set for the screen with DreamWorks, and it actually sounds kinda fun. This is the story of a Long Island housewife whose scientist husband leaves her for a beautiful young intern. Our heroine discovers that said intern is in fact a ninja assassin out to steal her husband's work, and has to find a way to get rid of the bitch before the latter can accomplish her goal and (presumably) leave the cheating, lying husband dead in a ditch somewhere. Why the wife cares about his fate we're not sure, but it's still a great premise.Producer Michael Besman (Seven Years in Tibet, Georgia Rule) came up with the story, is producing and will write the script with debutant screenwriters Michael Zam and Jaffe Cohen.

Fans who enjoyed Alien vs. Predator will be happy to know that there's going to be one more installment, this time in video game land. Sega released a press statement about Lance Henrikson reprising his role as Bishop in the new game:
Actor Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Alien3 and Avp: Aliens vs. Predator) has signed up to appear in the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator game, developed by Rebellion in the UK.
Lance Henriksen will appear as Karl Bishop Weyland, a descendent of Charles Bishop Weyland, the founder of the infamous Weyland-Yutani corporation from the Aliens universe. He will lend his likeness and voice to the production.
“They’ve made me look very good,” said Lance Henriksen, “This is the first time I’ve been fully represented in a game, with my voice and how I look, and the Rebellion guys have done a great job. I might score from this game!

Okay, so Paul Anderson’s Avp was such filth that not even Lance Henriksen’s turn as Charles Bishop Weyland could salvage it from the depths of shit that it sunk to. A good idea with terrible execution. That’s not stopping UK game designers Rebellion from casting the actor in their upcoming Aliens vs. Predator game, however. Read on for more!
Rebellion states that the actor will play another member from the Weyland family lineage, Karl Bishop. "They've made me look very good...This is the first time I've been fully represented in a game, with my voice and how I look, and the Rebellion guys have done a great job. I might score from this game!"
Cool stuff. The game is shaping up to be better than either Avp film (though I suppose that’s not too hard to do), and casting someone like Lance definitely lends the project some cool distinction.

Those of you who are looking forward to the fourth installment in the Resident Evil franchise, entitled Resident Evil: Afterlife, will have to wait a while longer before you get to see it. Shock Till You Drop has learned that studio Screen Gems has pushed back the fourth Resident Evil from its originally planned release date of August 27th, 2010, until January 14th, 2011. That’s almost five more months without a new Resident Evil movie in all our lives…
…However will we survive?!
So why has the studio delayed the fim? Well, if you’ve been following the news about it, you’ll know Resident Evil 4 is being done in 3D (it was only a matter of time…) by none other than the team that worked on James Cameron’s Avatar. If nothing else it should make the movie worth watching just to see if it even comes close to

When it comes to the Alien and Predator franchises, they’ve both had their share of knocks. Starting with the fantastic Predatorin 1987, the series went on to have a so-so sequel before finally being united on the big screen alongside it’s Xenomorph cousins for the dreadful Alien vs. Predator in 2004 and Alien vs. Predator – Requiem in 2007.
Both properties now have new productions in the works, Alien duties are being handed to the visionary director behind the original - Ridley Scott, and for the Predator prequel, Predators, we have “Armored” director, Nimród Antal. Speaking to Coming Soon, Antal was eager to put fans’ collective minds at rest, and thankfully he’s answered one of the most pressing Predators questions in the process, yes, the film will be R-Rated:
…he did confirm that Predators was being shot to be an R-rated film, so if nothing else, that should make a lot

Titles contrived for Google

Movies titles are increasingly devised to appear at the top of the list on Google. Here are a few examples.
The Internet in general and Google in particular have changed the daily lives of millions of people and hundreds of thousands of businesses. And appearing at the top of the list in a search result, no matter what sector a company is active in, can mean enormous sums to any business.
It's not surprising then, that movie producers are choosing their words carefully when it comes down to setting a movie's title, and are picking the most searched keywords on the Internet. These very lucrative words usually have to do with sex or violence. Here are four examples of movie titles with an added advantage:
"Jennifer's Body": in addition to the word "body", the keywords describing
the movie include Megan Fox, "lesbian", "naked" and "cheerleader".
"Sorority Row": the

Yes, it's true: Paul W.S. Anderson is going swashbuckling. After he finishes Resident Evil: Afterlife, Anderson plans to make a 3-D version of The Three Musketeers. Why? Because only the director of Death Race and Avp can really do Alexandre Dumas justice.
Afterlife producer and frequent Anderson collaborator Jeremy Bolt gave up a few details about the project, which Bolt will also produce.
The movie will be set in the 18th century but will have a "contemporary feel." Based on the book (duh), the movie will contain lots of action and romance.
Constantin Films is financing a $80 million ollar budget which will start production next September with casting starting now.
Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and D’Artagnan: best of luck. May your horses race you out of the prison and into freedom, and may you defeat the evil hunters that can sometimes turn invisible.

Dear Sony,
As I am sure you are aware, you own the film rights to any adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, the outstanding brainchild of video game auteur Hideo Kojima. I have no doubt that since the property became a gaming icon after Konami brought it to the Playstation in 1998 many have tried to get a film adaptation off the ground. I'm sure you've heard pitch after pitch, and maybe even solicited some of your own, so I appreciate that no ground has been made on turning the beloved series - arguably the most cinematic game of all time - toward the big screen.
Yet I fear that with a big budget adaptation of Prince of Persia on the horizon, you might start getting antsy about making a big budget video game movie of your own; and if that's the case, please do not take up Paul W.S. Anderson on

When it comes to the first photos and synopsis from upcoming films, Collider has reaped great rewards from this year’s American Film Market (Afm). For those who don’t know, Afm is where film buyers from around the world come once a year to buy movies and also pre-buy films in development. Simply put, this is where a lot of money changes hands in the film industry and it’s where many decisions about what you and I get to see are made. In an effort to try and raise a film’s profile or attract film buyers, many of the studios distribute full synopses and still images for their movies.
With that in mind, we have grabbed some of those synopses and images for Manolete (starring Adrien Brody and Penelope Cruz), Mona Lisa, Pearblossom, Small Town Saturday Night (starring Chris Pine), and The Long Good Friday. Hit the

The original Predator inspired more American Film Market-screened knockoffs than just about any other movie, and the word on the street here at the sales event is that the upcoming Robert Rodriguez production Predators will also jumpstart a whole new stream of human-vs.-aliens movies. And those who gotten a look at the Predators screenplay have been raving.
These sources tell Fango that this sequel ignores Predator 2 as well as both Alien Vs. Predator movies, and is a direct sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer. The script, by Michael Finch, Alex Litvak and Rodriguez, not only takes place on Earth, but its human characters also travel to the Predators’ planet to hunt the extraterrestrials. We will see new species—including Predator dogs!—and there’s going to be a Berserker Predator, the meanest badass of them all. And in some surprising FX news, Knb Efx’s Howard Berger and
