Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A couple has sex. The man thrusts on top of the woman and she moans, but they are having sex under a blanket and we can only see their shoulders up. There is no nudity, except for a bare buttocks for a split second, and the scene lasts a fairly long time. (on the DVD this scene is from 1:23:09-1:26:09)

Violence & Gore

The film portrays the Battle of Stalingrad, the costliest battle in human history. Over 50 people killed in opening battle. There is a lot of blood, some bodyparts swimming in the water are seen, also shots of injuried soldiers who have lost arms and legs. Russians get mowed down by German ammo. When Russians retreat, their own officers shoot them, which may disturb some people. Few bodies after the opening battle, but lots of graphic headshots from sniper fire. A crow is seen pecking on the corpse of a russian soldier. A little child is seen hanging from a large piece of machinery from a distance (he had betrayed the enemy snipers location and so was killed by him) Soldiers cross a giant river on vulnerable barges and are killed with lots of blood by aircraft overhead. The film is about a particularly talented sniper, who often kills people with one shot. There are multiple large skirmishes between the Red Army (who are often composed of young children) and the German Army (who kill their enemies with tanks, snipers and machine-guns) An old sniper is shot while in mid-air, while jumping from one ledge to another. The friend of the Russian snipers is captured, dressed in a German uniform, and shot accidentally by his comrades. The whole film is almost completely full of carnage and intense battle scenes, in which many, many people are massacred by being mown down by machine-guns. People are blown up by tanks, shot in the head with bloody results, mown down by machine-gunners and hung to death, so overall, the film is very violent.

Profanity

1 f-word but not much else.

Russians drink and smoke to keep themselves warm.

Sniper scenes are tense, but most teenagers could probobly handle them without a problem. Spoilers, (in the last 15 mins, you see a boy hung throughout, most of scenes in the backrounds, when first seen, it could be quite disturbing for some, viewers, because of the pure reality of the scene.)
