Note: The number at the beginning of each section refers to how much explicit content of that kind there is in the film on a scale of 1-10. The fraction at the end of the last section is the total sum of the sections over the highest sum possible (50) and is therefore an approximation of about how explicit the film is a whole.Sex & Nudity: 3In a alternate timeline, the main characters mother has plastic surgery on her breasts to enlarge them. The main characters reaction is shown. One scene has a guy and two ladies in a jacuzzi, but nothing explicit is shown.
Violence & Gore: 4Characters fight. One of the main characters is threatened with a gun and is told that the same gun killed his father years ago. Characters are knocked out or have the wind knocked out of them at times. No blood is shown but some could still consider it brutal for PG rated film.
Profanity: 5Mild. The S bomb and mild words like damn and hell are heard from time to time.8 S-words and a bunch of other language is used (like SOB, @$$hole, and damn and hell). Not too much, but a good bit for a PG film.
Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 4Loraine slams down a shot of whiskey during a fight with Biff in alternate 1985.In 1955, Biff and his gang members pour a liquor into the punch bowl and then take off suspiciously when the principal walks towards them. Later, the principal asks if Biff has been drinking. In a later scene we see the principal in his office drinking something out of a mug (we don't know what exactly, but we hear the sound of a cork plucking out of a bottle right before)In addition, there's a deleted scene where a guy is drunkPolice believe a young lady is tranked. They talk about the neighborhood she lives in is full of tranked people.
Frightening/Intense Scenes: 4The ending has a bit of a twist to it. The climax of the film is a bit intense and full of suspense. There's a cafe brawl where a lady supposedly uses a hook to grab another young man's groin (we don't actually see it for sure, but its implied) The alternate 1985 is really freaky/intense. The end of the film is also a bit more harsh but not as bad as the alternate 1985.Some of the deleted scenes are also quite intense. An idea of how accurate the TECE (below) is: 5-10 is a little-kid suitable, G-Rated type of film (i.e. Care Bears, Sleeping Beauty); 10-15 is going to be a little harsher, but not by much (i.e. The Incredibles); 15-20 could be pretty high up there (i.e. THIS), 20-25 is going to pretty darn adult (i.e. The Dark Knight); 25-30 is going to be a film most likely not suitable for anyone under 17 (i.e. Braveheart); 30-40 is going to be an absolutely, positively adults-only film (i.e. Saving Private Ryan) and if a movie has ever gone past 40, then I haven't heard of it.Total Explicit Content Estimation: 19/50.
