Agneepath is a remake of the original Agneepath, starring Amitabh Bachchan. Hrithik Roshan acts as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, a man who lives to avenge his father's death. The film starts off in the village of Mandwa, with the tale of how Vijay's father is ruthlessly killed by Kancha (the antagonist of the film, played a bald Sanjay Dutt), who exploits the mob mentality of the villagers to his advantage. Vijay, along with his pregnant mother escape to Mumbai. The mother later gives birth to Shiksha, Vijay's sister. Years later, Vijay is now the right-hand man of a gangster named Rauf Lala, who deals in just about everything from trafficking young girls to drugs. He goes about on his journey to reclaim his village Mandwa, not worrying about whom he may have to kill or destroy to fulfill his goal. The film itself is gripping. There are times when one is filled with rage, drenched in sorrow and the film does not fail in keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Vijay fights off the bad guys, saves his sister countless times and spends his free time in the company of his only real friend, Kaali (played effortlessly by Priyanka Chopra). The film is, however, very violent in nature. The acting is superb and the film doesn't really beat about the bush. All in all, a good film, certainly not the best of the year, but worth watching.
