Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012)
Absolutely refreshing!
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a film by Dharma Productions, starring none other than the glamorous Kareena Kapoor and the rising Imran Khan. Kareena reprises as a bubbly optimistic character. (which we last saw in Jab We Met as Geet)She plays Rianna Briganza, a hairstylist in Las Vegas. Imran Khan plays Rahul Kapoor, whose whole life has been planned out for him by his parents. During one drunken night in Vegas where one thing leads to another, the two end up getting married. The film itself is very refreshing. It is not your typical Karan Johar film. The story plays itself out over two weeks and how Rahul's(Imran's) life changes forever. By the end of the film, you feel like you've watched a good film. It doesn't keep you off the edge of your seats, it doesn't make you reach for your handkerchiefs, it simply makes your day a joyful one. A must-watch for all you guys who want to see something new.
Agneepath (2012)
Keeps you on the edge of your seat, an emotional roller-coaster.
Agneepath is a remake of the original Agneepath, starring Amitabh Bachchan. Hrithik Roshan acts as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, a man who lives to avenge his father's death. The film starts off in the village of Mandwa, with the tale of how Vijay's father is ruthlessly killed by Kancha (the antagonist of the film, played a bald Sanjay Dutt), who exploits the mob mentality of the villagers to his advantage. Vijay, along with his pregnant mother escape to Mumbai. The mother later gives birth to Shiksha, Vijay's sister. Years later, Vijay is now the right-hand man of a gangster named Rauf Lala, who deals in just about everything from trafficking young girls to drugs. He goes about on his journey to reclaim his village Mandwa, not worrying about whom he may have to kill or destroy to fulfill his goal. The film itself is gripping. There are times when one is filled with rage, drenched in sorrow and the film does not fail in keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Vijay fights off the bad guys, saves his sister countless times and spends his free time in the company of his only real friend, Kaali (played effortlessly by Priyanka Chopra). The film is, however, very violent in nature. The acting is superb and the film doesn't really beat about the bush. All in all, a good film, certainly not the best of the year, but worth watching.
