Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002 Video Game)
9/10
Violence is fun.
5 March 2008
I ain't an avid fan of action/shooter games. I would prefer to play calmer games rather that many great shooter games. But GTA games are one of the brutal, violent games that gets me hooked once I insert the plug of my PS2 into my cable.

Vice City is one hell of a ride. You are served with guns, girls and dollops of fun. Once I sit for play, I get connected to the game and play it persistently. This game is totally awesome!

The main attractions of the game:

1) Unfathomably huge and detailed: Vice City is huge with intricate details of all buildings, etc. It is so vast that you would not even have visited some places towards the end of the game. The houses are placed so perfectly and with such variations that you don't feel monotonous of watching the houses of same size, pattern etc.

2) Wise cracks: This game has some of the best running gags any game would have. The filmmaker is so funny and many of the characters make you burst out laughing. This game has even ridiculed some personalities, companies etc.

3) Missions: Even though the number of main missions would seem less at first, but the length and size of the missions, the sub-missions and zillions of other things to do make you play this game for a long, long time.

4) Fun: Its so much fun to shoot. Target and shoot. Having more than 3 dozens of weapons, you would love to blow off your foes or anyone practically!

5) Babes: One of the hottest girls can be found in the game. Extremely sizzling. Its fun to watch them for a while when you aren't in a mood to do anything.

6) Assortment: This game has tons to do. But it isn't as repetitive as Spiderman 2 at all. The perennial side missions of the latter would bug you to death. But this has a balance of everything.

7) Quick loads: Loading is quick in this game and you don't have to wait for long for the mission to start.

This game, like any other game, has its share of cons:

1) Targeting is poor and cumber stone. Sometimes you target dead victims/enemies. That's somewhat irritating, especially when you're in the middle of a hard mission.

2) Moderate graphics: Even though the city is detailed, the graphics aren't extraordinary. In fact they're just about okay.

3) No Quick trip: Unlike San, you don't have Quick Trip to skip unnecessary traveling etc.

4) I wish that they had a gym like in San. I mean to say, when you get a bit irritated collecting Hidden packages etc, you could just work out in a gym.

Overall, it is one of the best games made yet. I found San better than this but nevertheless, its a great game meant not for everyone!
