Trivia:
The game emulates the movie Scarface (1983): a low life thug leaves a place he doesn't want to be (Prison/Cuba) and moves to Miami (or in VC's case, Vice City), gets caught up in a riot, wears flowery shirts, and begins to take over the city, with a chaotic ending battle. The apartment where Tony's friend was killed is featured, along with the area known as Little Havana that was featured at the beginning of the film, and two nightclubs (The Malibu, Pole Position Club) are clones of two nightclubs in the film (The Babylon, and the Little Havana Club).

Goofs:
Continuity: In the Mission "Two Bit Hit", the game tells you to drive to the clothes shop "Rafael's", but the store the game leads you to is called "Little Havana Streetwear & Tattoo Parlour".

Quotes:
Tommy Vercetti:
I'm looking for a shooter for a job I'm pulling. From the setup here, I'm not too impressed.
Phil Cassidy: Son, I could shoot a fly off your head at a hundred feet.
Tommy Vercetti: Really?
Phil Cassidy: Yeah, I learnt it in the army.
Tommy Vercetti: Fly shooting popular in the army? Glad I don't pay tax.

(This review refers to the PC port.) This game is a much needed breath of fresh air. It's incredibly fun, and like Grand Theft Auto 3, it's very easy to pick up and play. You can easily play this game for hours on end, but you don't hours to be able to play. From the moment you start, it's seamless to start doing your thing and simply have fun.
The missions are quite fun. They're better than before, cooler, and just plain entertaining. I thought not being the nameless thug would be annoying, but it's better than ever. The story is perfect for a game of this type, and the game's atmosphere is flawless. Don't be surprised if you find a love for 80's music after playing this game.
The only downsides are like GTA3, there's bugs left in that really should have been taken care of. Also, it's rather obvious it's a PS2 port as the game's memory is rather short. You can clearly see a car coming, turn around so it's out of sight, and poof... gone. "Out of sight, out of mind." And like GTA3, after awhile the fun may wear thin and things may get repetitive depending on your tastes.
