Whoa! Chicago Med is about to enter its tenth season.
Chicago Med Season 9 ended with several cliffhangers that left viewers wondering whether one character was coming back.
This proved that there's plenty of life in the series a year after Nick Gehlfuss's (Will Halstead) exit.
Most of the cast is returning, so let's look at who's who ahead of Season 10.
Over Ten Years, How Much Has The Cast Changed?
Chicago Med's cast is remarkably stable, so once you learn who the characters are, you should be able to follow not only the new season, but many of the previous seasons.
A few characters have left over the years, but there is always a core of five or six characters you can count on to carry the show, and Season 10 won't be much different in that regard.

We'll have to wait all summer to find out what happens next on Chicago Med, but at least it won't be as long as the last hiatus.
Chicago Med Season 9 ended with some cliffhangers that made our jaws drop, including a question about whether one character will be coming back.
We don't know much about what Season 10 will bring, but one thing's for sure: it'll involve a double helping of drama.
Chicago Med focuses on an ensemble of doctors, but each has a particular role. When Will Halstead was the lead doctor, he was a rebel with a cause, constantly breaking the rules for the right reason.
Now that Halstead is gone, the focus shifted during Season 9 to a few new characters.
Ripley was a new doctor with a traumatic past, and for a while, Marcel had to deal with Zola, a Halstead-like resident who was constantly doing whatever she felt was right,...

It's impossible to overstate the popularity of "It Chapter One" and "It Chapter Two," or how Bill Skarsgård's turn as the horrifying Pennywise the Clown has become the definitive portrayal for multiple generations. Based on the terrifying novel by Stephen King, "It" and Skarsgård's ability to move his eyes independently is most certainly responsible for increased levels of coulrophobia around the globe. The otherworldly creature known as It comes in many forms, but Pennywise the Clown is undoubtedly his most famous. Since arriving in the town of Derry, Maine, It has been devouring the citizens for hundreds of years, resting for 27 years between feeding cycles.

At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. When April Reign became part of the loose community of Black users recognized as Black Twitter in 2010, her feed flooded with unfiltered opinions, jaw-dropping confessions, and countless jokes. Early on, she stumbled into #TwitterAfterDark, which littered her timeline with sexual innuendos. When “A People’s History of Black Twitter” was published in 2021, the social media platform appeared powerful as ever. As it had been for over a decade, the site was a hub of community and influence, where users might go to bullshit with friends, to organize with activists, to read and report news in real time, maybe even to mingle with a celebrity or two. Sure, it had its problems with trolls or bots or poor moderation; sure, TikTok was already moving in fast. But Twitter seemed to be, if not thriving, at least chugging along with no obvious end in sight.
A lot can change in three years, however — and a lot has, particularly since Elon Musk’s acquisition of the site in 2022. Dr. Charles could have had a powerful story.
He spent the hour trying to find answers about a patient's suicide while her husband refused to let her go despite her irreversible coma. Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 10 offered a sad story, but it wasn't as emotional as it might have been because of how it was all resolved.
[Note: This review contains discussions of suicide that could be upsetting for some readers.]
The story started perfectly, with June's husband asking why his wife chose to end her life and blaming himself while Charles reassured him that it wasn't his fault.
Nathan: What if the problem was me? Bad husband, neglecting her... what if I"m ther season she jumped?
Charles: Nathan, no. The reasons people take their own lives are mysterious and complex and it's rarely any one thing or one person.

Chicago Med hiatus: When does the show return and what should fans expect from the next new episode?
Chicago Med is still on an extended spring hiatus as the show takes a break before racing toward the season finale.
Some fans may already be upset that the One Chicago shows have taken such a long break during April, but new episodes are on the horizon.
As a reminder, two Hollywood strikes paused the production of the NBC dramas. It delayed the new seasons from premiering for many months.
When the shows finally returned in January, Chicago Med fans were reminded that Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) had left the show.
Dr. Halstead’s final episode was the Season 8 finale, where he quit working at the hospital and traveled to Seattle. When he got off the plane, he was greeted by Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and her daughter.
Several new doctors have joined the fold on the Chicago Med cast this season, adding some freshness to the show.

The number of signees now sits at 492, having more than tripled since Variety first published the April 5 letter, which criticized the attacks on Glazer for being a “dangerous distraction” from the mounting death toll in Gaza while also contributing to the “suppression of free speech and dissent.”
New additions also include Oscar-winning “Anatomy of a Fall” co-writer Arthur Harari, veteran U.K. producer and Oscar winner Jeremy Thomas, “Girls” co-showrunner and co-writer Jenni Konner and “The Hunger Games” writer and director and four-time Oscar nominee Gary Ross. Many members of the Israeli film community have also signed the open letter, including Oren Moverman, Nadav Lapid,...

Was this Easter or Halloween?
Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 8 featured several strange or scary events, including one that could get Zola fired.
The stories were so strange that it felt like they had originally been intended for Halloween and had been reworked for Easter. Some of the twists were predictable, yet the entire episode was bizarre.
The most rational story was Pawel's usual nonsense. Pawel is almost always annoying, but his attempt to get pain meds or money felt more like the hospital show tropes we're used to than most of the other plots.
Pawel is always up to no good and has never gotten along with Daniel, so his latest scheme wasn't a surprise -- if anything, it was predictable.
What Exactly Was Pawel Up To?
His scheme was somewhat confusing, though. It seemed obvious that he was trying to score pain meds. He repeatedly asked for them...

‘Slave Play’ in London: U.K. Prime Minister Calls Plan for Two Black Audiences-Only Shows “Divisive”
A London production of the U.S. play Slave Play, written by actor and playwright Jeremy O. Harris (Zola, Euphoria, Gossip Girl), is making political waves after the U.K. prime minister criticized plans to offer two performances exclusively for Black audiences as “wrong and divisive.”
The controversial play is set on a plantation and explores “race, identity and sexuality.” Its 13-week run at London’s Noel Coward Theatre, with a cast that includes Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, is scheduled to include two so-called Black Out performances for an “all-black-identifying audience,” just like the Broadway version of the show offered.
The producers of the London version told BBC News that their hope was “to celebrate the play with the widest possible audience” and that they “want to increase accessibility to theater for everyone.” They added: “The Broadway production conceived of Black Out nights, and we are carefully considering how...

Vicky Cristina Barcelona star Rebecca Hall was one of the buzziest names to feature on the BBC’s recent 12-strong drama slate and the BAFTA winner can now be seen in first look images playing a teacher in Element Pictures’ The Listeners.
Adapted by the novel’s author Jordan Tannahill, Hall’s character Claire is tormented by a low humming sound that no one else around her can hear. This seemingly innocuous noise gradually upsets the balance of her life, increasing tension between herself and her husband, Paul, and daughter, Ashley. But despite multiple doctors, no obvious source or medical cause can be found.
Scroll down for more pics, including another of Hall and one of Ollie West (Hamnet), who plays student Kyle and can also hear the sound.
Also starring in the series, which was filmed in Greater Manchester, are Prasanna Puwanarajah, Amr Waked (Ramy), Gayle Rankin, Mia Tharia (Phoenix Rise), Franc Ashman, Samuel Edward Cook, Karen Henthorn, Lucy Sheen (Ping Pong) and Ian Mercer.
Deadline revealed the show’s development last March and Poor Things producer Element is making it with Janicza Bravo – whose past credits include Zola, Mrs America and Them – directing. Hall is also starring in James L. Brooks’ next movie Ella McCay and Tessa Thompson’s similarly-named helpline drama The Listener. Fremantle is distributing The Listeners.
Rebecca Dundon, SVP Scripted Content, International at Fremantle said: “The Listeners is a thriller like no other that will surprise, provoke and challenge the status quo.”

Marcel wasn't kidding when he said Archer was no choir boy.
When he first arrived at Gaffney, Archer purposely let a patient lose consciousness so that he could claim an emergency need to do a procedure the patient didn't consent to—and that was the least of his ethical lapses.
But on Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 4, he berated Zola and Maggie for doing an end-run around an insurance company's denial of service to save a patient's life. Seriously?
His stance would have been reasonable if only he hadn't had the past he had. At the very least, he should have referenced it.
Maybe we're supposed to think that now that he's the head of the Ed, he has a different perspective or that he's grown and changed. But he acted high-and-mighty when he's done far worse, and that weakened any point he might have had.
Sentencing Zola to an ethics...

Lionsgate’s Michael Jackson biopic has cast Colman Domingo to play Joe Jackson, the controversial patriarch of the celebrated musical family.
Domingo, coming off a critically acclaimed and Oscar-nominated performance in Rustin, joins Michael, the biopic in production from Lionsgate and slated for a global release on April 18, 2025. Joe Jackson, the father of Michael, Janet and their eight siblings and the architect of the Jackson 5, died in 2018, aged 89. Michael Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson will play the pop singer.
“Not only am I fortunate to have a rich, complex and flawed character to portray in Joe Jackson, but I also have a front row seat for Jaafar’s incredible transformation. After seeing him in rehearsal, my mind was blown,” Domingo said in a statement. “There is something divine about the way that Jaafar is channeling his late uncle. His talent and embodiment of Michael’s essence is simply on another level.

Coming off of his first career Best Actor Oscar nomination for Netflix’s Rustin, Colman Domingo has more to celebrate: He just landed the role of Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson in Lionsgate and Universal Pictures International’s Michael Jackson biopic Michael.
Joe Jackson was known for his hard-driving management and often controversial parenting of the Jackson 5. Domingo joins Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson, who is playing his King of Pop uncle in the Antoine Fuqua-directed movie from Oscar-winning producer Graham King and his Gk Films. Three-time Oscar nominee John Logan wrote the screenplay.

Is Marcel right that Zola is the new Will?
She came to Gaffney on Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 2 with a questionable past, got placed on probation, and kept annoying Marcel -- but in the end was two-for-two on her diagnoses.
She checks all the boxes for a Will replacement, but no one can be a carbon copy of the erstwhile rogue doctor, so let's hope there's more to her than that.
Zola has advanced medical knowledge. I don't know how far she got in her previous residency before she was fired, but it probably feels to her like a step backward to start all over again.
Sharon: Dr. Melvoin spoke very highly of the time you worked together at the Mayo Clinic.
Zola: That's very generous of him.
Sharon: Except Mayo itself was less enthusiastic. Evidently your residency was terminated for what they deemed 'vigilante medicine?'
Permalink: Except Mayo itself was less enthusiastic.
