In 2007, a shy three years removed from 2004’s Alien vs. Predator, the two titans returned to pick up where they left off with Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. That so happened to be Gunnison, Colorado, where the destruction of a power plant means it’s nigh impossible to see anything going on. That’s not good for anyone — especially audiences.

When it comes to movies, remaking acclaimed movies to suit modern sensibilities has more often than not resulted in dumpster fires. It is rare to have an old classic bested or even followed up by a worthy remake, let alone an entire movie series being topped by its reboot. Back in 2011, Fox Studios had managed to ace this seemingly impossible task by rebooting their 1970s Planet of the Apes pentalogy to create the new trilogy series. The strong political undertone of the Cold War era of the original movie series found its spiritual successor in themes of racial (species) discrimination, questions pertaining to animal rights, and criticism of human imperialism in the new trilogy series, which also justified the core message of Pierre Boulle’s novel of the same name that inspired the original series in the first place.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been embroiled in a bitter rivalry in the music industry for many years, during which both musicians have been critical of each other. The latter, 36, recently released a new track called Euphoria, in which he once again targeted Drake. Three days after releasing this diss track, he intensified his feud with Drake on Friday morning by releasing a second one, 6:16 in LA.
This is the latest in their long-running beef, which has gotten bigger and more intense over the past few weeks, involving other rappers.
Drake in a still from ‘Sticky‘
Not one to back down, Drake is said to quickly hit back with a diss track of his own. However, that is not all—he recently shared a scene from Antoine Fuqua’s The Equalizer 2 on his social media, showcasing his lyrical skills and channeling his inner Denzel Washington in the process.

In writer-director Ivan Sen’s incisive anti-detective film Limbo, Travis Hurley’s (Simon Baker) job isn’t to solve the murder of an Aboriginal girl. It’s to determine whether or not to reopen the cold case in the Australian outback mining town of Limbo—or, rather, to determine whether some other detective should even attempt to crack it.
Travis’s investigation certainly doesn’t get off to an auspicious start. After checking into a motel and shooting up, he tracks down the victim’s brother, Charlie (Rob Collins) and sister, Emma (Natasha Wanganeen). Having little reason to trust a “whitefella” cop, both refuse to speak with him. Travis is ready to pack it in when a computerized component is boosted from his car. He finds himself stuck in Limbo while he waits for the replacement part to ship.

Even the most die-hard 007 fans know that James Bond movies don’t always hit. There’s the yellow face of You Only Live Twice, the pigeon double-take in Moonraker, the surfing in Die Another Day. But never has the franchise done worse than when a certain Louisiana police officer bumbles into the otherwise solid Live and Let Die.
Yes, I’m talking about Sheriff J.W. Pepper, a loudmouth distraction who sort of makes sense in the American-set Live and Let Die, but then he somehow also shows up in Thailand to further drag down The Man With the Golden Gun.
Modern viewers meeting the character for the first time today will likely be confused by Pepper’s shtick. But to the viewers of the early 1970s, Pepper not only hit as a funny joke, but he was very much in line with Bond’s history of pop culture Johnny-come-latelyisms.

At the end of Charles Dickens’s Oliver Twist, Jack Dawkins, the impish pickpocket known as the Artful Dodger, is presumably transported from London to Australia after being caught attempting to pickpocket. Fagin, the old man who masterminded the gang of juvenile criminals of which Dawkins was a part, had abandoned him, while Oliver Twist had been delivered back into the hands of his wealthy benefactor.
James McNamara and Jeffrey Walker’s The Artful Dodger sees “Dodge” (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) living lawfully in Australia years later. Always renowned for his fast fingers, he has traded life as a pickpocket for a distinguished career as a surgeon. All would be well except that Dodge has racked up a sizeable gambling debt with a cards cheat, Darius (Tim Minchin), who’s threatened to cut off one of his hands unless he pays the money in full.

Have you ever wondered why in the 2023 version of "The Haunted Mansion," Owen Wilson is shown eating a big bag of Burger King and telling Lakeith Stanfield that the fast food chain's fried snacks are literal messages from heaven? Dead Island 2 ignores the traditional skill tree system in favor of the kind of skill card “deckbuilding” system we see in games like Back 4 Blood. While it takes a little while to find and equip all of those cards, the payoff is worth it. You can really come up with some creative skill card builds in this game if you’re willing to experiment.
Even if it takes you most of the game to acquire all the skill cards you need/want, you can still work toward an ideal character build while you’re filling your card collection. That being the case, here’s a rundown of some of the best late-game character build options and the basic strategies that each build is trying to pull off (so you can make the most of them along the way). The legal principle of “another body” is cited by local and state law enforcement to not pursue charges against the creators of deepfake pornography, content easily generated by online communities that mostly focuses on celebrities and political leaders. The issue is just starting to gain traction as the technology becomes cheaper and easier, and as troubled, vindictive men (both young and old) experiment and take requests on message boards.
While targets of deepfake porn include every actress in Hollywood along with frequent targets of misogyny (e.g. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Greta Thunberg), they do enjoy one advantage that an anonymous college student does not: it would never be assumed to be real nor disqualifying for future prospects.
Another Body is a real story told, like David France’s Welcome to Chechnya, with the assistance of digital facial replacement allowing its subjects to speak anonymously rather than mask faces and voices...

Spin Master, the large toy, game and kids-tv conglomerate has helped build franchises out of concepts like “Paw Patrol” and “Bakugan Battle Brawlers.’ Now the company thinks it can do the same with a group of young girls who have a knack for riding unicorns.

There’s a parched austerity to the landscape of the Australian outback, along with an embedded history of conflict between Indigenous and invading occupants, that makes it irresistibly well-suited to screen westerns. But there’s a loneliness to it, too, a sense that its quiet vastness could swallow you whole and without trace, that lends itself as easily to moody, smoky mystery.
Aboriginal filmmaker Ivan Sen has twice before dabbled in the harsh, dry space where those genre possibilities overlap, in his features “Goldstone” and “Mystery Road.” In his latest, most accomplished film “Limbo,” he once more surveys the region with a critical eye, finding a history of racial injustice in its sharp cracks and long shadows. But the genre styling this time has been pushed all the way to stark, monochromatic stylization. This is outback noir — oblique, secretive and as hard-boiled as the ground is hard-baked — and Sen wears it well.

Brandon Cronenberg, the son of filmmaker David, hasn’t deviated far from the tree in conjuring up ultra-explicit body-horror thrillers that hinge on psychedelic images of orifices, organs, and limbs being torn apart. His latest nightmare, the dystopian tourism horror movie “Infinity Pool,” continues that tradition to alienating lengths, homing in on the destructive capacity of the pursuit of sensual pleasure.
Stars Alexander Skarsgärd and Mia Goth deliver terrifically unhinged performances as a failing novelist and a mysterious tour guide, and Cronenberg has absolutely no shortage of original ideas, but t.
James (Skarsgärd) and Em Foster (Cleopatra Coleman) are on an all-inclusive vacation in the fictional state of Li Tolqa, where writer James hopes to take the defibrillators to his writer’s block. The pricey beach getaway is ensconced away from the rest of the state’s surroundings, and it’s here that the heedlessly rich can shut out the rest of the world.

If October is a month that many movie fans dedicate to horror films, and December is all about holiday films, what are film lovers supposed to do in November? There is, of course, Noirvember, the great celebration of noir film created by writer Marya E. Gates back in 2010. But for those who don't partake in the black-and-white watchathon, November is a month with a wide-open watchlist. If you're hankering for something different to keep your attention as the cold season sets in, why not go for sc-fi?
Science fiction is, after all, a versatile genre. It encompasses everything from aliens and robots to movies about deeply philosophical ideas that you witness in your bones as much as in your mind. It also has more crossover potential than it often gets credit for: sci-fi-comedy, sci-fi-romance, and sci-fi-horror are just a few of the genre hybrids that make science fiction as accessible as it is.

Warning: contains spoilers for The Handmaid’s Tale season 5 episode 6 ‘Together’.
Road trip! There was a brief moment in The Handmaid’s Tale’s first season, right after Fred Waterford and the other Commanders were blown up in that Red Center explosion, when this story move felt inevitable. June and Serena: two enemies cast together against a common foe, Thelma and Louise-ing it on the run from Gilead together in the ultimate act of female solidarity.
It never happened because, like all believers in the just-world fallacy, Serena’s always felt righteously insulated from adversity. She’s glimpsed Gilead’s horrors – when a Handmaid with a cut-out tongue sat at her kitchen table, when teenage Eden was drowned, when Fred beat her with a belt, and when she lost a finger – but she never faced them front-on. Now, thanks to the Wheelers, Serena has experienced Gilead from the factory floor, and surprise surprise,...

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead through season 9.
The Walking Dead has come a long way since its first episode dropped on Halloween 2010, with new cast members, jaw-dropping character reveals, devastating goodbyes to fan favorites, and big bads that could inspire terror in even the bravest survivors. Yet, at the heart of it all is Rick Grimes, the man that kicked off the whole eleven-season shebang with “Days Gone Bye,” wandering the zombie apocalypse after waking up alone in an abandoned hospital and slowly but surely drawing together a group that would become closer than family.
Rick departed in the early episodes of the ninth season, and that has been a boon to some of the supporting characters like Carol, Negan, Daryl, and Maggie, who have stepped up to fill the void. Still, there’s no denying Rick’s absence continues to be felt all these many episodes later.
