10. 11.22.63 (2016)
A large part of the Fallout’s is its retro futurism that makes use of the 1960–1970s aesthetic. If you’re a sucker for that aesthetic, look no further than 11.22.63: in this sci-fi drama, we travel into the past alongside James Franco to try and prevent Kennedy’s assassination… And grow terrifyingly close to his new life in the past. You can watch 11.22.63 on Apple TV and Prime Video.
9. The Shield (2002–2008)
Another big hook of Fallout is the complete lawlessness of the Wasteland despite there being some people who call themself “the law.” If you’re into that whole “dirty and corrupt law enforcers” kind of thing, The Shield is for you: set in a fictional completely lawless district of LA, this show follows a unit of really, really bad cops.
You can watch The Shield on Hulu and Prime Video.

It’s been 10 years since David Oyelowo made his U.S. breakthrough portraying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in “Selma.” Playing the awe-inspiring civil rights leader was an opportunity for the British-Nigerian actor to live up to his surname, which translates to “a king deserves respect.”
Oyelowo has been reflecting on that time in his life a lot more lately, thanks in part to “Becoming King,” a documentary directed by his wife, Jessica Oyelowo, that captures the seven-year journey to bring “Selma” to the big screen.
“It was a big year,” he says of 2014. “There was no way you could know the sheer amount of things that would happen, because at the beginning of it, nothing was happening. ‘Selma’ felt dead. I was in the middle of shooting ‘A Most Violent Year,’ having a good time with that, but just feeling in a state of limbo and then—”

There is no shortage of criminal characters on television, most of whom we are meant to root against and revile.
However, a select few are so charismatic and good at their jobs that they make us wonder if they are the true heroes of their shows.
These characters are in it for the long haul, living out in the open and evading capture.
They may build a business empire or just maintain the solitary life of a freelance assassin, but whatever they do, it's done with style and a certain "why didn't I think of that" cleverness.
A fair number of these criminals inhabit shows that carry their names, like Dexter, Barry, and Ripley.
But many more operate within larger fictitious worlds that center law-enforcement heroes and recognizable moral codes.
Here are four of our favorite smooth TV criminals. We definitely shouldn't love them as much as we do, but...

There is a widespread Westerns’ trope that lies in the transformation of the badass criminals or simply imperfect characters into the people who realize their sins and try to redeem them by helping their companions, family or even chance passers-by.
Here 5 of the Western antagonists, who demonstrate the will to turn to a bright side, discussed in a recent Reddit discussion.
The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) - Josey Wales
The fans of the good old Westerns can firstly recall the fierce character of the genre’s king, Clint Eastwood, whose nature is depicted right in the movie’s title. Although he doesn't always keep up the decent morals of Wild West heroes, his villainy can be justified by the grief for his killed family, and he eventually proves his strong desire to return to a calm life as he seeks justice for the weak.

Middle-earth is filled with many fascinating characters, and here are the top five sexiest who rule them all.
There’s a reason The Lord of the Rings trilogy is heavily regarded as one of the greatest and most influential film series of all time, and it’s easy to see why.
For one, its critical and financial success stems from perfectly adapting J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. However, the attractive people in this fantasy world make the experience more worthwhile.
Who doesn’t want to see gorgeous men swinging their swords in their charming cloaks or women bravely fighting the enemies while their hair and gowns are enticingly flowing?...

Obviously it wasn’t by design, but the early-1950s renewal of the western genre, aided in large part by the success of Winchester ’73, which heralded a career second act for both its director, Anthony Mann, and its star, James Stewart, was answered in other quarters of the industry by multiple endeavors to take the once disreputable genre, previously dismissed as Roy Rogers/Saturday-matinee bunkum, all the way into the hallowed halls of state-sanctioned, capital-a art. And, as it happened, the two westerns that made a big runner-up showing at the 1952 and 1953 Oscars, High Noon and Shane, respectively, also served, by virtue of holding what wide swaths of the future cinephile demographic would come to view as Vichy letters of transit, as high-value targets for skeptics of the official cultural narrative.

The Titanic star gained much recognition as a thriller actor back in 2006, with his The Departed and Blood Diamond receiving much praise from the critics, who emphasized DiCaprio's fitting in the genre. However, there is a 2010 movie which consolidated the actor’s belonging to thrillers, showing how convincing he is at revealing the twists.
Adapted from Dennis Lehane’s 2003 novel, this thriller’s plot revolves around a Deputy U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio), who explores the disappearance of a patient from a psychiatric facility on an isolated island. Harrison Ford is one of the most talented and respected actors in Hollywood. Having starred in some of the most well-known franchises of all time, he has injected himself into the very bones of the film industry as a whole. If there was a film that starred him in some or the other role, there was a high likelihood that it was a hit.
The Fugitive
However, there was one movie of his that ended up becoming quite underrated, getting lost in the flashing lights of his filmography. One that got multiple Oscar nominations. Ford’s 1993 movie, The Fugitive was iconic to say the least, being an excellently told story about a man who was wrongfully accused of killing his wife.

The actress, who was recently seen in the biographical war drama film ‘Sam Bahadur’, looked her gorgeous best as she wore a brown coloured sleeveless top, and paired it with a matching wrap around knee-slit skirt.
She rounded off the look with neutral makeup — nude pink lips, blushed cheeks, and a thin black eyeliner.
Sanya styled her curly locks in a bun. She opted for small golden hoop earrings, and completed the outfit with brown heels.
The visuals shows paps singing a birthday song for Sanya, while she happily cuts the yummy chocolate cake.
After the cake cutting, the actress thanked the paps for the sweet gesture. “Thanks for the cake…ye dismantle ho raha hai (It is being dismantled),” she said referring to the cake.

Former The Mandalorian actor Gina Carano, with financial backing from Elon Musk, has filed a lawsuit against Disney claiming she was wrongfully terminated from the show in 2021 and discriminated against for her political views and her gender. According to the complaint filed with the California federal court this week, Carano is not only seeking $75,000 in damages but also wants the court to force Disney to recast her on The Mandalorian, which would be an unprecedented turn of events for the entertainment industry and pretty ludicrous.
I’m no legal expert, but if Carano’s legal team were to somehow convince the court to rule that Disney had to bring her back as Cara Dune on a future show, how would that even work? What sort of welcome back would Carano expect to receive from a studio she reportedly has a toxic relationship with, not to mention the section of angry...

Regulators at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) this week approved sweeping fines against a half-dozen pirate radio operators in the Miami area.
The fines, which totaled more than $3.5 million, were approved by the full board of the FCC during its open meeting on Thursday.
The matters were listed on a public agenda as “enforcement actions” with no further information. A spokesperson for the FCC told The Desk by email that enforcement actions are typically not made public until they are approved by commissioners at their open meetings.
The fines are connected to a sweeping federal law passed by Congress in 2020 that gave the FCC broader authority to pursue radio pirates who broadcast on reserved frequencies without a license. The law, called the Preventing Illegal Radio Abuse Through Enforcement (Pirate) Act, allows the FCC to impose financial penalties of up to $2 million per instance, upward adjusted for inflation...

“Streaming has really democratized things and the generational impact is seismic,” said Oyelowo, who joins recent THR Trailblazer honorees America Ferrera, Eva Longoria and Niecy Nash-Betts in receiving the award. “I know what marginalization looks like. Danny Trejo in director Paul G. Volk’s Western The Night They Came Home. Courtesy of Lionsgate
The Night They Came Home is a western offering that is a pretty good recycling of several classic themes from the oaters of yesteryear. The great Danny Trejo plays the local gravedigger, but most of his screen time is spent telling a young couple from the East the story of the last outlaw gang to be eliminated, ushering in their current relatively civilized era in a wraparound narrative.
It’s the 1890s. The local Creek tribe members are bitter about being driven off their lands and receiving a lot of broken promises. They also resent their children being forced to attend white schools to learn the settlers’ language, culture and religion at the expense of their own. In the sixth-season episode of "Bones" called "The Finder," which aired in April of 2012, Brennan and Booth (Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz) travel to the Florida Everglades to investigate the death of a maritime museum worker whose remains in the woods lead to the discovery of a fragment of a 17th-century map. The map may lead to sunken treasure (!) and our heroes know that if they find the rest of the map, they'll likely uncover a murderer.
To help with their investigation, the two agents hire an eccentric local named Walter Sherman (Geoff Stults), an old friend of Booth's. Walter is a kooky former soldier and head injury sufferer who possesses a bizarre, obsessive talent for locating lost objects. It's implied that Walter may even have semi-clairvoyant powers.

Before anyone had even seen Heroes of Halyard, it was already engulfed in scandal.
At an industry presentation at the Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink forum in August, Telekom Srbija, which produced Heroes of Halyard together with Contrast Studios, screened clips of the World War II epic. The film, from Serbian actor and director Radoš Bajić, was still in postproduction and the clips were only meant to give the audience a sense of the scope of the production, one of the biggest and most ambitious films ever made in the region.
Instead, they sparked a political backlash. Some accused the film, which tells the story of the historic rescue of American airmen by Serbian fighters in Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia in 1944, of glorifying Serbian nationalist groups. Benjamina Karić, the mayor of Sarajevo, called the film “revisionist” and demanded festival organizers distance themselves from the producers and the screening, which they promptly did.

Eliza Russell In ‘Vigil’ Season 2 Explained: How Did Eliza Russell Hamper Dci Silva’s Investigation?
Eliza Russell of Vigil is introduced as a soldier who would do anything to accomplish what she defines as her mission, regardless of how it affects people around her. Even though Eliza wasn’t the brains behind the entire scandal, she certainly did betray her friends, comrades, mentors, and everyone who had placed their trust in her, driven by a false sense of patriotism that made her prioritize her skewed ideals over doing what’s right.
Spoilers Ahead
What Was Russell’s Role In The Dundair Attack?
At Dundair, British and Wudyani officials were in the process of testing a new range of state-of-the-art weaponized drones called R-Pas, or Remotely Piloted Air Systems, that would give the country of Wudyan an edge over their competitors and insurgents. The handover was part of a half-billion-dollar deal, but the test went awry when one of the drones went rogue and shot and killed seven British soldiers.

“Lawmen: Bass Reeves” just wrapped on Paramount+. And while the streamer has yet to announce whether it will be coming back for another season, the show’s creator Chad Feehan is absolutely ready to come back.
“I intentionally left some meat on the bone in case we got to this point. Bass’s life is so incredible and it’s so expansive, there is no way that we could hit every major benchmark in his life in 8 or 10 hours or else it would’ve felt almost like a procedural,” Feehan told TheWrap.
And noting the story of the real-life Reeves being forced to arrest his own son in part to save his life, Feehan adds, “I would love to tell that story.”
“Lawman: Bass Reeves” is based on the life of Bass Reeves (played on the show by David Oyelowo), a former slave who became the first Black deputy U.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves has brought the true story of Bass Reeves’ legendary career as a U.S. Deputy Marshal to life. But at the core of the story has been the love between Bass and his wife, Jennie Reeves. David Oyelowo and City on a Hill alum Lauren E. Banks were tasked with telling this true love story, and Oyelowo (who executive produced the season in addition to starring) tells TV Insider they “searched far and wide” for the perfect actor to play Jennie. They found what they needed in Banks, whose audition Oyelowo says was one of the best he’s ever seen. “I’ve produced a few shows now. I don’t think I’ve ever had an audition tape have quite that effect on the brain trust as hers did,” he tells TV Insider in the video above. “It was just such a no-brainer, and that continued...

It’s not quite Christmas yet, but there are plenty of offerings that will make you want to cozy up with your favorite family member – everything from highly anticipated YA adaptation “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” to Bradley Cooper’s new movie “Maestro” to an outer space epic courtesy of Zack Snyder (“Rebel Moon”). There’s also a new BTS documentary series (“BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star”) and the long-awaited return of “Marvel’s What If … ?” and “Dr. Death.” Plus the season finale of “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” (we think) and the series finale of “Archer” (for real this time). And your next K-drama obsession (“Gyeongseong Creature”).

Box Office – Sam Bahadur shows momentum in the opening weekend – Sunday updates ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Sam Bahadur showed some momentum over the weekend gone by with Sunday collections growing as well. After collecting 6.25 crores on Friday, Saturday grew to 9 crores and now Sunday collections have come to 10.30 crores. Yes, had these been Saturday collections then the momentum would have been considered excellent as that would have taken Sunday to 13-14 crores range at least. However, with Animal running in parallel and collecting upwards of 60 crores on each of the days during the weekend, Sam Bahadur is fighting it out for itself.
Still, the fact remains that growth has come because the film could easily have just gotten into a surrender more. However, just like Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw who never gave up and played on the front foot, even his biography is following the same path and is trying to...

Was Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw anything like Vicky Kaushal? Yes, and no. While Vicky Kaushal does capture some of Field Marshal’s gregarious charm, much of the original’s vitality gets lost in translation.
While we cannot fault Meghna Gulzar for her research work, much of the screenplay feels like the Wikipedia page on Manekshaw. We can close our eyes and listen to the narrative descriptions and know exactly what is happening on screen.
Visually, the film is eye catching but lacking that ‘epic’ quality that separates the men from the boys in an army battalion. What comes across is Sam’s unflagging spirit, his unwavering commitment to being an Indian without having to prove it with flagwaving.
Vicky Kaushal, a reasonably talented actor, is not equal to the task on hand. He tries hard to echo the original’s three Bs—bravery, benevolence and bravado. But mimicking...
