Zackary Drucker will direct the upcoming biopic about Andy Warhol superstar Candy Darling starring Hari Nef. John Cameron Mitchell also joins the untitled film about the transgender icon as executive producer.
It was previously announced that Nef (“Barbie”) will star in the movie.
The film traces Darling’s childhood in Long Island through her years alongside underground icons Holly Woodlawn and Jackie Curtis in Warhol’s Factory scene, and her influence on musicians including Lou Reed, the Velvet Underground and Patti Smith. She was immortalized in popular songs including Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” and The Velvet Underground’s “Candy Says.”
Darling also starred in Warhol’s cult film “Women In Revolt” before she died of leukemia in 1974 at age 29.
“I’ve dedicated my life and career to amplifying the history of trans and queer icons, and their impact in shaping art and culture for everyone,” Drucker said in a statement.

McGuiness and her frequent collaborator Antonia Campbell-Hughes wrote the script. Conor Barry is producing for Savage Productions, with John Lang for Super Bloom Films. Screen Island provided development financing, with the Creative Europe Programme – Media of the European Union offering additional support, and Des Hamilton handling casting.

eOne has entered into a multi-year first-look TV and digital partnership with Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson through their company Asap Entertainment.

Exclusive: CAA signed Brad Peyton, who most recently wrapped the earthquake thriller San Andreas for New Line with Dwayne Johnson, and the exorcism project Incarnate. Peyton had been at Verve. His breakthrough film was the black comedy short Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl, which premiered at Toronto in 2002. He separately helmed Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Peyton is lawyered by Jodi Peikoff of Peikoff Law.

Exclusive: Producers quash pending civil action after private resolution.
The high-profile dispute between the producers of Jane Got a Gun and director Lynne Ramsay has been resolved.
According to a statement sent to ScreenDaily, the two parties have reached a mutually satisfactory agreement which has led to pending civil action brought by some of the producers being dropped.
The statement reads: “Jane Got a Gun Production LLC and Lynne Ramsay announce the pending civil action and all other disputes between the parties associated with Jane Got a Gun Motion Picture have been resolved privately and to their mutual satisfaction.”
It is not immediately clear whether the agreement included a financial settlement. Parties close to Ramsay were unable to comment.

LONDON -- Brit actor Ben Whishaw, who starred in Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, is sniffing out a starring role in Jane Campion's Bright Star, the filmmakers said Wednesday.
Whishaw is in final negotiations to star as poet John Keats in the period romance drama for Pathe International, which is written and will be directed by Campion.
Bright Star focuses on the three-year romance between 19th century poet Keats and Fanny Brawne, to be played by Abbie Cornish. The poet's romance was sadly cut short by Keats' untimely death at the age of 25.
Whishaw is about to begin shooting Brideshead Revisited alongside Hayley Atwell and Matthew Goode and this fall he will also be seen in Todd Haynes' I'm Not There, as one of the seven characters portraying music legend Bob Dylan.
Whishaw is repped by Christian Hodell of Hamilton Hodell and Hylda Queally of CAA. Negotiations are being finalixed by his attorney Jodi Peikoff.
Campion's movie is scheduled to go before the cameras either in late summer or early fall.

Peter Sarsgaard is in negotiations to board Touchstone Pictures/Imagine Entertainment's Flight Plan opposite Jodie Foster. Robert Schwentke is helming the Brian Grazer-produced project, with lensing scheduled for September. Described as a Hitchcockian thriller, Flight Plan follows the in-air plight of a woman whose daughter mysteriously disappears while on board a passenger jet. Sarsgaard has a lead part of a passenger sitting near Foster who tries to help her get the situation under control. Flight Plan is based on a pitch from Peter Dowling with Billy Ray penning the current draft. Robert DiNozzi is executive producing. At Disney, Brigham Taylor and Louanne Brickhouse are shepherding. Jim Whitaker is overseeing for Imagine. After noteworthy performances in independent features including Fox Searchlight Pictures' Boys Don't Cry and Lions Gate Films' Shattered Glass, Sarsgaard has been drafted for big parts in studio fare. He recently completed work opposite Kate Hudson in Universal Pictures' Skeleton Key. Sarsgaard is repped by CAA, MJ Management and attorney Jodi Peikoff. He next stars in Zach Braff's directorial debut, Garden State, for Searchlight and Miramax Films, and Searchlight's Kinsey for Bill Condon.
Oscar-nominated scribe Milo Addica, who is set to make his directorial debut with an untitled feature based on the best seller The French Hustler, has signed with Endeavor for representation. French Hustler, which follows the true-life exploits of Gallic con artist Christophe Rocancourt, will be produced by Thomas Langmann under his Paris shingle Le Petite Reine. Addica, who received an Academy Award nomination for co-writing the critically acclaimed film Monster's Ball, most recently co-wrote Birth. Jonathan Glazer directs Nicole Kidman and Lauren Bacall in the Fine Line Features project. Other writing credits include the biker-themed drama Iron Cross (formerly known as The Biker Creed) for Imagine/Universal. Addica also is producing the Gael Garcia Bernal-Sam Shepard starrer The King, which he wrote with director James Marsh. Addica continues to be represented by attorney Jodi Peikoff.

Best supporting actor Golden Globe nominee Peter Sarsgaard is in final negotiations to star in a lead role opposite Kate Hudson in The Skeleton Key for Universal Pictures, sources said. Shooting is scheduled to start in April with Iain Softley at the helm. Penned by Ehren Kruger, the New Orleans-set story follows a young woman (Hudson) who begins to experience spooky things in the home of the elderly couple for whom she's caring. Sarsgaard plays the love interest of Hudson's character. Daniel Bobker is producing the project, with Universal's Holly Bario overseeing at the studio along with Scott Stuber. Sarsgaard is repped by CAA, Jon Rubinstein at MJ Management and attorney Jodi Peikoff. Sarsgaard was nominated for a Golden Globe for his turn as Chuck Lane in Lions Gate Films' Shattered Glass.
