I love the slasher film craze more so than any other sub-genre. Yes, they’re a little repetitive for the most part but they’re always fun to watch. I guess the big formula with most of them, is A) Insert traumatic event. B) Find a location, secluded or otherwise. C) Cast teenagers and have them doff their tops and D) Have them get killed in a variety of manners. Also, the more dated the production, the better. Terror Train follows all of these steps and more. It’s one of the more upstanding and inventive of the slasher films to come out of the early 80′s. The biggest reason why it stands out to me, is that while Jamie Lee Curtis is the star of the film and easily the most recognizable of the roles.

Nicolas Cage will rage as a big game hunter stuck on a ship with his prey in action film Primal.
Snakes on a plane? How about Cage on a rage….on a boat? Okay, admittedly not as catchy, but I’m sure some marketing executive is already hard at work on a memorable tagline for Nicolas Cage’s new film, Primal.
In Primal, Cage will play a big-game hunter working on behalf of a zoo. He must survive on a Greek freightliner after his haul of dangerous, exotic wild animals is set free by an escaped political assassin, aboard the ship to be extradited to the U.S. The animals, including a rare White Panther, wreak havoc, chaos ensues.

Exclusive: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kate Bosworth, Dave Bautista, and Gina Carano are joining the Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films production of Bus 657, the ensemble heist pic that Robert De Niro already has boarded. This is the latest pic that is part of E/F/O’s overall deal with Grindhouse/Lionsgate, which will distribute the $15M-budgeted Bus 657 along with Hannibal Classics. Stephen Sepher and Max Adams wrote the action thriller that Scott Mann (The Tournament) will direct. Principal photography is set to begin October 13 in Mobile, Al.
The pic, formerly titled Bus 757, centers on a father (Morgan) without the means to pay for his daughter’s medical treatment. As a last resort, he partners with a greedy co-worker (Bautista) to rob a casino and the two hijack a bus full of hostages and things go awry. De Niro will play Frank “The Pope”, owner of the casino, and Bosworth plays his estranged daughter.

Without Warning is another film being released to Blu-ray by Scream Factory that I’ve never seen, but it’s with good reason. The film has been largely unavailable on home video for the past 30 years. From what I understand, there was a VHS released in the UK, as well as a DVD that was mastered from the same source used to master the VHS, but never a legitimate DVD release, and no release at all in the states. The fact that this film is even being released at all is a miracle, much less that it is being given the Blu-ray treatment, with all-new extras. Without Warning has a lot going for it. It was shot by Dean Cundey, the monster/alien is played by Kevin Peter Hall, who was also Predator, as well as Harry in Harry and the Hendersons, and the film features Jack Palance and Martin Landau in superb character roles,...

Know what we need? We need a movie about super-sized man-eating alligators (in 3D of course) that's rated PG-13 to "maximize the target audience." Didn't anyone learn anything from Shark Night?
Said to mix the humor of Gremlins with the sheer terror and smarts(!) of Deep Blue Sea, Chomp 3D is set against the backdrop of the Louisiana bayou and flavored with Cajun culture. Expect many pools of bloody water and little else. The flick is on sale right now at Efm with no director attached. The flick, if sold, will be produced by Golden Globe nominee Dan Grodnik and executive produced by multiple Indie Spirit nominee Nick Stiliadis. The story is written by Louisiana native, ex-atf agent, and award-winning author and screenwriter Chuck Hustmyre.
Synopsis
A wild storm off the coast of Louisiana sends the Chinese freighter “Sea Dragon” crashing into the break wall and spilling its deadly cargo.

Cinderella (1950) Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment Blu-ray and DVD Available Now
The Walt Disney classic finally makes it high definition debut. Though it was made over half a century ago, Cinderella remains a timeless work of animation. Part of its lasting appeal can be attributed to the amazing concept art of Mary Blair, whose gorgeous backgrounds and unique color palettes help to define its iconic visual style. Though she was only credited with color and styling, her influence in the look and feel of the finished product cannot be denied. Another aspect that is often overlooked is the lovely vocal contribution by actress Ilene Woods. She brings a measured confidence to the beloved heroine and her singing voice is as gorgeous as the animation.
Special Features:

After the immense success of John Carpenter’s Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis was on the top of the list for horror movies that needed a plucky girl to fight evil in movies like Prom Night and 1980′s Terror Train.
The early 80’s were rife with slasher films, yet Terror Train rises above other genre copycats due to its interesting location, intriguing mystery, and some creepy visuals courtesy of some eerie masks. If the Groucho Marx getup doesn’t make you shudder, then I don’t know what will.
In the dead of winter, a group of medical students including Alana (Jamie Lee Curtis), her best friend Mitchy (Sandee Currie), and their boyfriends Mo and Doc (Timothy Webber and Hart Bochner) decide to take a private train trip and throw a costume party to celebrate their imminent graduation. However, this bash quickly goes off the rails when someone from their past...

Terror Train
Stars: Ben Johnson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Hart Bochner, David Copperfield, Vanity | Written by T.Y. Drake | Directed by Roger Spottiswoode
I love the slasher film craze more so than any other sub-genre. Yes, they’re a little repetitve for the most part but they’re always fun to watch. The biggest reason why it stands out to me, is that while Jamie Lee Curtis is the star of the film and...

The first day of the working week looks set to take something of a kicking in the cinema of the near future. We learned not long ago that producer Daniel Grodnik was heading for a Bad Monday, and now here comes Whatever Happened To Monday?, the English-language debut of Norwegian director Morten Tyldum.Tyldum broke box office records in his homeland this year, with his adaptation of the Jo Nesbo crime thriller Headhunters. It's Norway's most successful film of all time - before it's even played internationally - so it's no surprise that Hollywood should have picked up the phone.Whatever Happened To Monday? is a high-concept dystopian yarn about septuplet brothers on the run and trying to stay below the radar, in an overpopulated society where having more than one child is illegal. You'd think there might be some sort of legal clause which would make exception for acts...

It's a story that would have been better suited to yesterday, obviously, but what with time-lags and Thanksgiving weekends, we've only just learned that Mass Hysteria Entertainment are planning on creating a Bad Monday.Nothing to do with The Bangles or The Boomtown Rats or annoying posters of Garfield, it's an action thriller about O. T. McKee, a regular, everyday, normal guy, who finds his life getting somewhat out of hand. Estranged from his wife and child and kicked out of his home, he somehow gets on the wrong end of a chase that involves stolen cars and bags of loot. The screenplay is by Richard Taylor, who is possibly the same Richard Taylor who wrote the bounty-hunting revenge western The Storm, which made the Black List in 2009 (the same year as 30 Seconds Or Fewer Less). "O.T. is just a guy who makes one wrong decision and finds himself...

Mckee gets kicked out of his house and finds himself wrapped up in a situation spiraling out of control with stolen cars, bags of money and running for his life. Grodnik commented, "Richard's script is a high-octane ride that is extremely entertaining and that we believe will appeal to a world-wide audience." Taylor said, "Dan is an old friend and I am excited to work with him on this project. O.T. is just a guy who makes one wrong decision and finds himself caught up in an extraordinary...

Previously titled Carjacked, Jacked has a menacing new film poster, which shows Stephen Dorff as Roy, menacing actress Maria Bello (Lorraine) and her young son (Connor Hill).
Actor Stephen Dorff has shown a resurgence in his career with dramatic central roles in Felon (2008) and Sofia Coppola's Somewhere (2010). Jacked looks like a continuation of this streak. In the picture, Dorff plays Roy a man on the run from a recent robbery and he uses his ex-wife and son to get over the Mexican border. But, the tagline reminds viewers that "vengeance is hers!" Toronto -- In a move that injects a new contender into this year's Oscar race, Lionsgate has picked up North American rights to John Cameron Mitchell's "Rabbit Hole," which had its world premiere Monday at the Toronto International Film Festival.
As the festival winds to its Sunday close, other distributors were lining up films that could play next year's festival circuit: IFC Films said it has acquired worldwide rights, except Canada, to Barry Avrich's documentary "Unauthorized: The Harvey Weinstein Project," and Sony Pictures Classics said it picked up North American rights to Pedro Almodovar's latest movie, gothic thriller "The Skin I Inhabit," now filming.
Additionally, Anchor Bay Films has secured rights to "Carjacked," a thriller being directed by John Bonito ("The Marine").
Lionsgate will release "Rabbit" by year's end, and based on positive reactions here, that should make the movie a player during awards season.
