Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004)

Hold up good to the first one.

It might not have a lot for action which takes away the thrill of it but still very good with its storytelling. Other scenes I really liked was the scene where Beatrice is training with her master, fighting that lady with the eye patch, and digging out of her own grave. Stuff like this is all very intense and awesome to watch. Major props to Uma Thurman. The reveal of Bill having her daughter all this time was pretty shocking. In the first film we always knew she was missing but to see the man Beatrice has done so much to kill just he around her is very effective. To she her breakdown is kinda powerful and tough to watch even. The end title card is also a nice touch along with certain details scattered across the film. However, I did not like this movie as much as the first one. It didn't make me jump out my seat as much and I'm kinda disappointed by that. Bill's death was also not that good. I didn't find it satisfying at all. Overall, 8/10.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)

A fun, gore packed, revenge epic

Uma Thurman is awesome. The anime sequence is awesome. The entire story is awesome. So much of this movie is awesome. The opening is brutal but the follow up is so good. This movie as you can tell from how many times I've said it, is pretty awesome and good. The reason why is because you feel for Uma Thurman's character. After getting so much taken away, you want to see her get back up and fight. That's the entire movie basically. An Action packed revenge epic. The reason why I say epic is because it feels big. Her journey takes her to a lot of places. Other things I really enjoyed was how the movie was told to us, and also the overall style. The "feature presentation" was a nice touch to the opening. The whole theme with samurai and anime inspired aspects was really cool to see play out. Overall this movie has a real action vibe to it. The only problems I have is that the movie can be a little weird with execution. Some things just didn't fit and seem right. I still however, really loved this movie. 9/10.

Glass (2019)

COMPLETE BETRAYAL OF TWO FILMS.

I watched Split before this film, thought it was really good, gave it an 8/10 or possibly a 9/10. Didn't see Unbreakable, but understood enough going into this "film". This "movie" I can describe as a boring, horrible, stupid mess. The characters were cool to see but they are given absolutely nothing to do. Sorry to also spoil the movie, but they kill Kevin aka The main villain from Split (2016), Mr. Glass, and Bruce Willis' character. That was probably the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Everything was either boring or done horrible, I mean REALLY BAD. Fighting was either sloppy or in the background. Are you serious? Anya-Taylor Joy, one of my favorite actors, is given nothing to do. The doctor trying to disprove the fact the three are superheroes are really stupid. This "movie" is atrocious. One of the worst I've seen in awhile. 1/10.

Freddy Got Fingered (2001)

The only reason why it's two stars here is because funny enough there are moments that make me laugh in this god awful movie. You can tell it's supposed to be intentionally bad and they do that pretty good. This movie has some damn hilarious/outlandish moments. However, it's not enough to save this no plot, no good characters, no passion, no nothing good "movie".

Megan Is Missing (2011)

Horribly put together, really disgusting, and a total waste of time. Do not watch this movie. It will actually make you less intelligent. I don't know what people were thinking when they were making this. There's way too many problems to even count with this horrible "movie". Just please do not watch it. 1/10.

As Above, So Below (2014)

"Fake deep" garbage

To define fake deep is something trying to be cool and smart, however not actually be cool and smart. That defines this not scary, dumb, waste of time. It's found footage, which is so oversaturated that I immediately got turned off in terms of being interested in the first scene. The logic also doesn't make sense. There's as well as continuity errors that really bugged me. The movie did get ok when it felt like National Treasure (2004), when the guy was fixing the tower bell and clues were being discovered. I also kinda liked the themes concerning the whole search for the treasure. The French guy is somewhat entertaining to watch. There was this also super creepy girl that got a decent scare. Besides those elements, there's almost nothing to see from this film.

The Strangers (2008)

Awesome idea, awful execution.

Talk about a weird and kinda bad horror film. The ideas are there, but the execution is really off. The atmosphere is weird, a lot of whispering makes this film a complete and utter bore to witness. There's not much to really say except that there were some cool things to see and a lot that sucked. The acting kinda sucked due to so much whispering. Not much to see from this film. 5/10.

In the Heart of the Sea (2015)

Mediocre retelling of Moby Dick

This has errors that are really noticeable. Such as destroying the purpose of the whale. Originally, the whale was scary and an untamed beast of nature. Now, it's conscious and spares them somehow. A black man on a ship isn't historically accurate, even one with an American accent. This movie was at least cool to look at. The special effects weren't awful and the cinematography was cool. Chris Hemsworth was cool to watch. The captain was decent. I was surprised that Tom Holland was in the film, he did a fine job. Not much else of really say other than some kinda bad to passable moments. Pretty mediocre film, 5/10.

Unfriended (2014)

Cool idea, stupid execution.

This was a very cool idea to do and can be potentially scary. However, the execution is absolutely awful. There's a lot of unexplained details and plot holes weirdly enough and it bugged me. Many things were mediocre and done pretty stupid. I will give credit when it's due however, it gave unintentional laughs with being so bad at some points and the deaths were a little satisfying. However, we don't know enough about the characters to care. The details that are noticed are more than baffling. This all around had some potential and it was thrown away, this was a legitimately cool idea but it's just not utilized. 5/10.

Suicide Squad (2016)

Overhyped mediocre garbage.

This movie was fun in a stupid way. However, it's still pretty garbage. The things I liked were Jared Leto as The Joker, since it was so bad that it was good. Everything was kinda passable and there were cool things to see like some of the action, other characters interact (might I add they were somewhat forgettable), and some other things of course. However, the lighting sucked. The script was mediocre at best. The structure of this film sucks. There was potential for this movie to be good and just it's thrown away. 5/10.

The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

A kind of poorly made and disgusting movie.

Going into this I never saw the original. However, I came out of it disgusted and confused. There's a certain scene that really bugged me to where I paused the movie for a breather (for people who watched you can probably guess that scene). The editing was weird at certain point and the digital effects were also weird, however there are some things I did like. I liked the "Breakfast Time" scene. I liked how it fixed the original a bit and did things different (according to what I have seen in some analysis reviews). Everything else is kinda done weird or disturbing. It's not enjoyably disturbing because of the nature of the film, and if it's intentional then I would lower the score because I simply didn't like that, but there was some things that I did enjoy. There's no charm or good execution. The family is passable I guess. This is a 6/10.

The Amityville Horror (1979)

A strange thriller-horror.

What I liked about this film are the twists the turns that the Lutz Family encounters. They're some very interesting scenes like the scene where the priest goes to bless the house. Other things like the father going crazy or one of the end scenes I really liked. However, a lot of things are either done poorly or surprisingly really bland. The scare factor is there yes, but it's not enough to make me jump out of my seat. So, it's not per say a great film but a decent enough one that services some "ok" scares. Things that bugged me as well was the end scene where the father went after the dog. I thought that was a stupid decision to put that in. 7/10.

Funny Games (2007)

This film is a huge question mark. It doesn't hit the marks quite right, in fact there's an entire sequence of events that doesn't make any sense. Not a lot of things are executed well about this movie, they simply miss the mark. This movie isn't even scary or disturbing aside from maybe one scene. The two villains are sometimes annoying. The family is passable I guess. This movie isn't that good and it's barely passable aside from some elements and a certain death.

Insidious (I) (2010)

A decent horror movie.

Suspense is good, climax is good, and the characters are passable. I liked the old lady, unfortunately things happen to her that made me a little disappointment. The idea of a demon harboring a young child is definitely scary, and the demon itself without the special effects (which suck) looks scary. There's a certain jump scare that gets me still to this day. The idea of "The Further" is definitely creative. However, elements of it don't work sometimes along with a certain sequence of events. It was very rushed. Also, there was a weird decision in the film where they didn't want the old lady's help, it simply didn't make sense. However, I liked the movie ok. 7/10.

Lights Out (II) (2016)

A kinda mediocre horror movie

I decently enjoyed this movie because of the premise and the creature attached to the mother. The creature has a cool past that I found interesting. Other things that I really enjoyed was the opening and the first time we see the mom talking to the creature, it was legitimately creepy. Everything else kinda sucked. The acting kinda sucked, the lead was pretty bad in my opinion and was mainly emotionless. The cinematography kinda sucked, and the special effects REALLY were bad. The sequence of events is passable I guess, however it felt really boring. Not much else to say, the short film this was based off of is probably better. 7/10.

American Satan (2017)

A decent movie talking about rock and roll.

This movie was really hyped up on adrenaline on some part and that made it very enjoyable to watch. I really loved this movie because it really talked about things that were relavent in the rock community, such as signing and demos. I found it interesting to see and this really brings out the struggle rock bands have, even after they become recognized. This film is built with the idea that the industry is very grimy and it portrays that outlook very well. The characters are likeable aswell and most of the elements and aspects of this movie are good. However, weird choices, an inconclusive ending, and generic soundtrack make this movie not that good. However, I don't get the hate. It's not a bad film by any means and if you don't like it that's understandable. However, don't hate on it for the outlook it's trying to display, because it does it well. 7/10.

The Evil Dead (1981)

A classic with some flaws that really show.

This film is an impressive marvel due to its budget. It really solidifies itself as a classic horror movie among fans of the genre. The scares are decent. The characters are passable. The gritty cinematography really adds to the films atmosphere. The end scene is a real classic (I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet). The sequence of events is fine, however it does drag sometimes. There was a certain scene that really dragged on and I'm not sure wether to sit there in silence or laugh at how awkward it was. The scene that has the stop motion is very cool. The makeup is very cool aswell. However, the impressive camera work and effects can't exactly save it's at moment mediocrity and kinda weird moments. 7/10.

8 Mile (2002)

A rough and gritty film about underground rap.

Who knew Eminem could be a decent actor? He does his role well along with the man people in this film. They portray a gritty and tough life on all ends with dreams and opportunities. The people in the film are enjoyable and give good to decent performances. The song "Lose Yourself" is always a classic. The rapping and disses are always fun to watch and hear. However, there are some things that don't cut it for me. Such as the weird decisions such as introducing elements that don't go anywhere or some weird deliveries by Eminem. Sometimes the movie just doesn't come together all the way and it throws it off a little. However, it does retain its story and tells it well. The elements that do work really give a gritty and rough scenery concerning life in the streets. 8/10.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

BORING.

THIS. FILM. WAS. REALLY. BORING.

I don't get why the pacing is like a pace of a snail. It's excruciatingly slow and makes the film very difficult to enjoy. I got so confused even at the start. I was looking at a black screen when it was starting and I thought it was broken. All I heard was music and a black screen, cool way to start, however it wasn't effective. The highlight that makes this movie however was THE SPECIAL EFFECTS. These effects are definitely Oscar worthy and super impressive for its time. The characters are cool, HAL 9000 is definitely a cold and calculated villain. The movie looks great as well, set designs on that spaceship are always awesome to look at. Cinematography is also great. However, the effects and designs aren't enough to save this movie. Pacing is way too slow and things didn't make sense for me. 7/10.

Poltergeist (1982)

A boring horror film.

I don't see the appeal. A lot of the things with this film are boring and uninteresting to me. Such as the tree or the room where they're trying to get the girl back are very cool but yet it's uninteresting by the way it's executed. There's some funny humor, a bit of spooky/whimsical elements that I like. However, overall I just don't get it.

The Equalizer (2014)

A kinda mediocre film.

It's a strange set up for an action thriller. I love the ideas and "cat and mouse chasing", but honestly it has really bad trouble with its messages and direction. It felt really bland half the time and it really brought down my interest. The characters are passable along with some other elements. Some great fights scenes are shown and other ways of killing people are also seen. The way he works up through the gangsters system and taking them down is very awesome to see. However, this movie is kinda mediocre to the point where it's only passable overall. Yes it has good things but a lot of other things aren't execute well. 7/10.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

A decent reboot.

This was a decent reboot that changes things and makes it better in the process. Yes the original is a classic among many horror film but this can hold its own against it. The plot is gorey fun and even a little heartbreaking at times surprisingly. There's a scene I won't reveal here but let's say that it was legitimately a little heartbreaking. It was done fairly well and I got a little sad. The cast of characters are cool to observe and see but you know they're going to be dead except for one. That doesn't really affect the film however seeing it's a reboot of a movie where people die gruesomely you would think otherwise. Problems include the acting, the unexplained and weird elements, and decisions that just bugged me. Besides that I liked the reboot and thought it was decent. 7/10.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)

An experimental horror film.

This movie really popularized found footage and does it extremely well here. The way this film is shot is nauseating but once you're adjusted to it, you aren't going to be that sick during the movie. The decent into madness and scares are really effective and very real, which does make your skin crawl a little. The characters backstories aren't important seeing how they contribute to the movie fine. The pacing of the movie seems fine, a lot of things just seem fine. They don't switch anything up so I kinda see that as bland. Either way, this is a really revolutionary movie that is scary and grimy but can be nauseating and kinda bland at times as well. 7/10.

Crimson Peak (2015)

A bit of an underwhelming horror movie.

This movie doesn't really work that well. It's plot is kinda boring, but the twists and turned are executed to a passable degree. The characters are interesting but their stories don't exactly go anywhere. I can go on, however I want to look the good stuff. The design of the film and the theme and atmosphere is very good. The vibe it gives off is an ancient and gothic feeling which I really like. The house is very cool as well, majority of what happens in there is very interesting. The secrets revealed are also very good. However, I have a huge problem. If a horror movie doesn't scare you, what's the point? This plot isn't scary. Sorry to spoil it but it's just blackmail for some weird reason. That makes the entire movie when realized VERY UNDERWHELMING. Besides it's glaring issues, I still enjoyed the movie decently. 7/10.

Muppet Treasure Island (1996)

A fun kids film.

I remember watching this as a kid and it's pretty much as fun as I remembered it. The jokes get a laugh, the story is Treasure Island so I was still intrigued what kind of twist they would pull, and it worked nicely. Some awesome highlights include the songs which are good (especially the one that the movie opens up with) however they don't always fit. Tim Curry as a pirate, that's amazing. He eats up every scene and it's just great. What's stopping this film is it's song placement and jokes. They don't always fit or get me laughing and that being down this film a lot. Besides that though, this a decent kids film that I really like. 7/10.
