Soul (2020)
One of Pixar's best movies
I read a review where the reviewer said they realized about halfway through the movie, that they didn't laugh once. And that's...not a problem at all. Sure, there were a couple moments where I went "breathe through nose", but other than that I didn't laugh. And I think that's a good thing with this movie. The humor was not at the forefront like other movies, and that's what I like about it. It really feels like children's movies have matured with this movie. About the movie itself, story, music and everything, I loved it. There's not really much else I can say, which isn't a bad thing. Rather, I feel like it's just me being speechless. Anyway, I highly recommend this movie. It's got such a moving story and beautiful music. And hey, if others don't like this movie, that's okay. People are allowed to have their own opinions and it's okay to voice them. Anyway, that's it. High recommend.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)
Honestly a good movie!
We all know that not a lot of people seem to enjoy the show, so when the movie was announced back in late-2017, it was the ugh-ing heard round the world.
Then the teaser came out earlier this year. People were skeptical. Would it be good or bad? No one knew. As of writing, the teaser has 15K dislikes and 10K likes.
Then the trailer dropped, and...people responded to it extremely well. As of writing this review, the trailer has 42K likes over 11K dislikes.
And then the movie came out.
You're probably thinking, "Why are you saying all this before you're review?" That's because I can. And I will. And once this review is approved, no one can stop me.
So with all that in mind, what did I think of the movie?
If you could not tell by the positive rating I gave the movie, I definitely enjoyed it.
The jokes were great compared to what the show does. The songs were memorable, yet not too tolerable. It seemed like this movie was more of a musical than a comedy/action movie. However, I was fine with the songs. They were okay, but not the best songs I've ever heard in a cartoon movie.
The animation was definitely an improvement over the cartoon. If you didn't know, the show is what looks to be animated in Flash, which is probably what it is animated in. However, for the movie, they definitely upped the animation, which was definitely better than what Flash can manage for the show.
And that post-credits scene; although I did not want to reveal its contents, I will talk about it, hence why I marked this review as having spoilers in it.
So basically the scene interupts the regular credits with TV static, and it reveals the OG Teen TItans with Robin saying "We think we've found a way back." People speculated this to be revealing season 6 to be in development. However, our dreams were crushed when the DVD released, and in its extras, it has a teaser for a crossover event titled "Teen Titans vs. Teen Titans Go!" which although I'm disappointed that season 6 is probably not in development right now, this is still cool news.
But with that, this was my review of TTGTTM.
Doki Doki Literature Club! (2017)
Amazing joyride of feels and jumpscares
"You're just seeing it for the first time."
This game is absolutely amazing. Filled with feels and a number of jumpscares and glitches, this game is sure to keep you entertained.
It's free on Steam, so...why ignore it?
Also, Natsuki is waifu.
9-1-1 (2018)
One of the best dramas I've seen in years.
I'm only 15. I'm not big with drama shows. I've only seen a few until this one. I believe this is one of the best I've seen. Yes, I see why people call it unrealistic. Nothing on TV has to be. This is no cash-grab from FOX just to bring in more viewers. A lot of people seem to enjoy this show so far. According to the ratings for the Pilot, viewership went up from 6.8 million to 10.6 million, a 57% rise. Shocking, ain't it? I'm really enjoying the show so far, and I can't wait to see what they bring to the table in the next few episodes. You expect to see this show do realistic things, and they do, you're just seeing them for the first time. Things can be unrealistic in it, sure, but remember: nothing on TV has to be realistic.
...Why did I just repeat that?
Good Burger (1997)
Why have I never seen this before?!
I just found this on Netflix, and so my brother and I watched it. We didn't regret it. Kel Mitchell played his character very well, and I always loved "I'm a dude, he's a dude..." and "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the..." and Kenan Thompson did good with Dexter, he actually did look like a high-schooler back then. The story wasn't rushed at all, it played out well. The characters were spot on. The humor was too hard to resist, it was so good! I found myself laughing at the jokes. This movie is just too good to say no to, it's that awesome. Do yourself a favor and watch this movie. It's on Netflix, so if you've finished catching up with Stranger Things, go watch this. You won't regret a thing!
Teen Titans Go!: 40%, 40%, 20% (2015)
The Only GOOD Episode from a TERRIBLE Show
Look at my profile, TTG review, I say it sucks, blah blah blah. But, yes, I do hate it. But this was the ONLY good episode of the entire series. That goddang song, though, jeez, I freaking love it! I loved all the references in it. The terrible crew thought of something so awesome, it even makes ME want to rewatch the episode!
The Brave Little Toaster (1987)
A Forgotten Disney Classic Left to Rot
I'm not much of a Disney guy. They have some good stuff *cough* DuckTales *cough*, but this takes the spot as one of the best things Disney has done in the 80s, well, besides DuckTales. The soundtrack was freaking FIRE, dude! If you haven't seen it yet, definitely go watch it for yourself!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Better than any other Marvel movie ever
Too many Marvel movies, I'm sorry, but this and Deadpool are the only Marvel franchises I'll watch. I loved this movie so much! All I have to say, really. The plot was awesomely done, the character development was well done, rare to laugh so much at this movie, the humor was unbearable
Rick and Morty: The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy (2017)
Not a Big Fan of Jerry, but This Was Pretty Good
Jerry is that one character in Rick and Morty where he's just there and he has nothing much to do with the episodes he's in. In this episode he was actually treated like a main character, what he needed, sort of. This episode was actually pretty good. I still don't really like Jerry, but I enjoyed how he was treated in this episode.
Teen Titans Go! (2013)
Why does this even exist?!
Teen Titans was easily one of the best cartoons that existed in the early 2000's on Cartoon Network. It will stay in our hearts and it will be remembered by the fan base of Teen Titans. After years of demanding more Teen Titans, especially for a sixth season (come on, Adult Swim, you did it with Samurai Jack, here's your chance!), Cartoon Network went and said, "Okay, we understand, so you'll be getting more Teen Titans. BUT there's a catch." In 2013, they premiered Cartoon Network's murderer of a show, which would become their biggest one in recent years, and would disappoint the original Teen Titans fans forever, making them watch Nickelodeon instead, Teen Titans Go. Don't listen to the 7 year old kids making good reviews on it, they're young, they don't know what they're talking about. I hated this show when it premiered, and it made me want to watch season 8 of SpongeBob instead, which is actually better than this. I'm not much of a Cartoon Network fan nowadays, since they went, "We'll put this on the schedule instead of your other favorite cartoons." and when they ended Regular Show. I'm not much of a Teen Titans fan either, since I haven't seen much of it. But I saw a few episodes and the Tokyo movie, which are easily better than this hunk of junk. Nowadays I tune into Nickelodeon. They've redeemed themselves in the past year and a half, and they've been giving us better quality recently. SpongeBob's been getting better, The Loud House gave Nickelodeon some hope for the future, other Nickelodeon stuff. But Nickelodeon is easily more superior here, much better than Cartoon Network. Anyway, what I'm trying to say here is... Teen Titans Go? More like Teen Titans No. Teen Titans Go is terrible, easily the worst cartoon in recent years. That's all I have to say. Teen Titans Go is terrible bye!
Sausage Party (2016)
I'm 14, But Who Cares, Right?
I might be 14 and not really allowed to watch R-rated movies like this, but who cares? I still watched it and found myself to love this movie. While most had no care in the world for this movie, some actually enjoyed this movie. They probably came for the last 7 minutes, though. I actually enjoyed that part of the movie somehow. Man, food sex is so hardcore. But anyway, the weird characters, the weird plot, everything is weird about this movie, and somehow I liked it.
Welcome to the Wayne (2017)
Gravity Falls Inspiration? Sign me up!
Gravity Falls was an amazing series. When it ended back in February 2016, we weren't sure what could come after Gravity Falls. But back in 2014, Nickelodeon released a webseries titled Welcome to the Wayne, which to all who watched seemed like it was inspired by Gravity Falls. It was then greenlit because of its success. Thus comes July 24, 2017, when the full length TV version of the webseries premiered after The Loud House at 5:30 PM EST. So enough talking, here's my WttW review.
WttW is about a kid named Ansi Molina who just moved into an apartment building called The Wayne. He joins Olly and Saraline Timbers on crazy adventures as he is part of Team Timbers. So far the week has been big on Nickelodeon, as they premiered the first 5 episodes of the series. What do I think about it? Well to start, the synopsis of the series is just a typical synopsis, it's not really original and kinda outdated. But what do I think about the episodes? Recently I've been busy at 5:30 PM EST, with cleaning the kitchen after dinner or eating dinner at that exact time. So haven't gotten caught up yet. But as far as I know, the episodes have been well-received. What do I think of the style? To begin, the animation style. It looks a little like Rick and Morty's animated style, but without the weird-shaped eyeballs. It's really colorful and pretty basic and simple. What do I think of the voice acting and the actors? Before I say anything about that, I had NO idea WHATSOEVER that a woman voices Ansi. Great job, guys, keep it up! Is it better than 2009-March 2015? Definitely. How do I rate it? I give it a 9/10. It's not the best ever on Nickelodeon, but it's better to give us high hopes on the future of Nickelodeon.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015)
Great movie, but not as legendary as the first.
SpongeBob, man, does it get old! It took 11 years for Nickelodeon to release a second movie. Just like it took 13 years for Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie. But anyway, it's a pretty good movie, it had many good jokes and laughable humor, just not laughoutloud, you know what I mean. Here are my pros and cons.
Pros: - Well thought-out synopsis - Great voice-acting - Laughable humor - Many good jokes - Great animation/CGI animating - Lovable characters - Slow-but-steady character development
Cons: - The movie is called "Sponge Out of Water" for a reason. It took the gang more than 70 minutes to get on land. - Not as legendary as the first movie. The reason why I say this is because it ended the movie on a good note. The reason why I say THAT is because of Ocean Man. Amazing song and it fit well in the end. But it might have been better off not having more seasons after it. However, I feel seasons 9B-10 so far have given the show more hope, now that Hillenburg is back with his SQUAD. What do you get when you cross an adult music band and an animated movie? Ocean Man in SpongeBob
So there's my review of it.
Rick and Morty (2013)
One of the BEST Adult Cartoons on TV
I might not be an adult yet, but I enjoy adult swim. I like what they show every night, except for Toonami, not a big fan. Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, etc. But one show took the adult TV world by storm. One that I've never seen until two months ago. You guessed it! It's Rick and Morty. I've heard of this show but never watched it until two months ago, thanks to my brother and our friend. (Thanks a lot, guys!) I fell in love with the show after the pilot. Through a week and a half of watching it, even S03E01, I demanded more Rick and Morty. I needed more of it. Thankfully, in August, S03 will continue, apart from South Park, entering its 21st season. Can't wait!
I freaking LOVE this show. I love all the character and story development in each episode. I love all the Easter Eggs found in it. Some of the theories I find to be true.
...And don't worry, Rick. You'll get your Mulan Szechuan Teryaki McNugget Sauce back in 2018 with the release of a live-action version of Mulan, which I'm pretty sure Disney is not involved with, like the live- action version of The Little Mermaid coming soon. Can't wait for more S03! If you have nothing to watch on TV, I recommend giving Rick and Morty a go. I doubt you'll hate it.
The Loud House (2014)
Nick is At it Again!
For once, besides Harvey Beaks, a show that sticks to children. A show that people enjoy. I'm one of them.
This is a show that got me into Nickelodeon more. Yes, it's still terrible, but seriously, guys, give them A CHANCE. The Loud House is CREATIVE. The Loud House is SMART. The Loud House is everything you would want in a cartoon. Adult jokes, potty humor, gay couple...WAIT, WHAT?! The Loud House is the best cartoon on Nickelodeon in 2016. Nickelodeon, thank you. Yes, they've had their ups and downs, but give them a chance people. 2009 is where they went bad. Fanboy and Chum Chum, ALvin and the Chipmunks (terrible remake), etc. and from there, well, they got worse and worse from that point on. Harvey Beaks is good. SpongeBob is getting better. The Loud House is awesome.
