Vengeance Is Mine (2021)
Brooding, brutal & well crafted.
Vengeance is Mine is a quiet, brooding action drama of revenge and murder. Harry (Con O'Neill), sets himself up as an amateur assassin of the gang that killed his family, but his own ineptitude isn't his only downfall.
If you warmed a cinema seat in that, you'll need to add this to your viewing list. It is a violent and bloody film with a twist of the surreal. Harry is neither a villain nor a gung-ho killer that we are supposed to celebrate. For those who found themselves dismayed at the mess Faqua made of The Equalizer, fear not, Hajaig's protagonist is not intended to inspire or excite. On another day, Harry may be a companion to Into The Wild's Christopher McCandless, but years of silent brooding have led him into a different kind of action.
Hajaig doesn't make the mistake of hoping the audience likes Harry, but the precision with which he makes Harry both vague and determined makes it hard not to go along with him and hope he succeeds, or at least gets away with it. Though there are occasional moments that shock, O'Neill plays Harry as a considered man who blanches at his own actions.
Really liked this well made small movie.
Star Wars (1977)
the best of the whole series!
The definitive sci-fi movie. Totally reshaped the genre where the movies are appropriately regarded as 'before Star Wars' or 'after Star Wars'. Best in the original trilogy.
I miss Lucas malign films, come back George and kick JJ out the way.
L.A. Confidential (1997)
Well done Curtis
Well doen to Mr Curtis Hanson.
L.A. Confidential is a superb thriller set in the 50's, with realistic characters and a great depiction of the corruption and issues of the period.
The cast with the now disgraced Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Kim Bassinger and Danny Devito, and every one of them delivers a top notch performance, and i have to say Guy Pearce was the one that shone the most.
I wish pearce woulds do more leads instead of becoming a character actor like he has.
Aliens (1986)
Mother and daughter, girl power!
Camerons amazing writing makes the best feminist action film ever made.
she loses her child then protects news as her substitute daughter.
The the queen comes after her for killing her children.
Such a shame that a man wrote this, only kidding...not!
Well done James cameron, well done Sigourney, you kick serious ass.
Annie Hall (1977)
Keaton and Allen in their prime, she's a feminist Icon.
The genius that is Allen is on full display here, but his muse Diane Keaton just flies here.
Keaton wearing a mans suit is an iconic image, she is beautiful and true feminist icon.
Keaton at first is immature but then becomes the dominant one at the end, all done with the amazing dialogue of Allen.
WE ALL NEEDS THE EGGS.
The Shining (1980)
King and Kubrick, who wins?
Having read the book I think most people will know that the film is very different to the book.
This film is turned into a Kubrick film and we have to wonder whether the material suits that at all.
Kind concentrated on the supernatural matters whereas Kubrick concentrates on the psychological trials and tribulations of the artistic endeavour.
I wish Kubrick hadn't been so nasty to the leading lady, that would not happen today.
But in a battle between Kubrick and King, Kubrick wins but he loses the war.
The Children Act (2017)
YAWN
I love Emma Thompson but this film was a snooze fest to the max.
I dint care about the characters and I wanted her just to go ahead and have the transfusion.
Why make a film about his subject matter, does anyone really care?
I didnt.

Hereditary (2018)
Scary but unsatisfying
The film was scary, well directed, well acted but the end ing left me so cold.
I Why did they decide to end the film in this way?
Come on people, we could have us leave the theatre in a better mood.
Could have been so much better.
Kin (2018)
could do better
This film had a lot of potential but it wasted it with a very poor script.
the producers should have worked on it more.

Ocean's Eight (2018)
8 women kicking butt!
I preferred this to the Clooney series, the women are more subtle and I found the heist genre much more accessible.
Book Club (2018)
Keaton, my hero
Anything with Diane Keaton and I am there.
she does not disappoint as usual so go see it, this woman is US national treasure.
The Happytime Murders (2018)
Meliss Mccarthy genius
Ok its not the best comedy film ever made but the fact the Melissa Mccarthy is the lead and she is a bankable female lead should be enough to make us smile.
The humour is basic but it mdd me chuckle.
