The Godfather Part III (1990)
This movie is greatly misunderstood and it has become popular opinion to say it is bad.
The Godfather Part three is a great movie but many would contest. This final installment of the greatest trilogy ever made is misunderstood by most because they do not see what this film is really about. G3 is not about hits and gangland killings, but rather, G3 is about the end of Michael Corleone's legacy of crime in America. This movie shows him stepping out of the gambling and the other rackets because they have hurt him so badly. This movie is a masterpiece because it shows the conclusion to an incredible story. There had to be an end to this trilogy and this thoughtful way to do it exemplified the trilogy as an unbeatable one. Just because it doesn't end with a violent scene like the murder of the heads of the 5 families does not make it a bad movie, but in this case, a beautiful one. Please, don't feel you have to agree with the common view by proxy, but think on your own about what this movie really means and how it concludes and consequences the first two.
Hoodlum (1997)
Hoodlum is an excellent portrayal of 1930s Harlem
Larry Fishburne continues to astound me in another role that seems to suit only him. His rugged and street smart Bumby Johnson is a masterpiece. andy Garcia, thought it is only a small part, plays famed gangster Lucky Luciano very well. Growing up in a neighborhood where he once ruled, ZGarcias portrayal is very accurate. The movies plot is good, not to brilliant. There are some pretty gross parts to the movie, but it only adds to the gritty feeling you get from Hoodlum.
Goodfellas (1990)
THE definition of a gangster movie is goodfellas
Goodfellas is a masterpiece of the life of a gangster. Through 4o years, Henry Hill develops as a gangster and as does Ray Liotta's character. The credulous plot and acting given by Robert De Niro and Joe Pasci, who won an Oscar for his part in the film, makes this film a must see for any gangster flick loving person. If you liked this movie, you should check out King of New York, The Godfather, Once Upon a Time in America, and Empire.
King of New York (1990)
King of New York
King of New York is one of the greatest films I have ever seen. It is an erie yet electric look at crime in corruption in the greatest city in the world. Christopher Walken delivers an exceptional performance as crime kingpin Frank White. In my opinion, this is one of Larry Fishburnes best part yet. He plays Jimmy Jump, the crazy hardened rught hand gunman for White. He is utterly crazy and untamed in his role, and plays his character well. See this movie, it is superb.
