Downhill (2020)
Horrible Movie - Bored To Tears - Certainly NOT Funny
This has to be one of the absolute worst movies I have ever seen. I went because I thought there might at least be some humor, not so.
Don't waste your time going to movie theater or even streaming it.
A real dud...!!!
Tin Star (2017)
FIRST SEASON GREAT - SECOND SEASON SUCKED
Awful, unrealistic second season. It was a bit of a disappointment after the first season. The time gap between season one and season two did not help. I would have liked a really good season one review before watching season two. This could have been a really dark, somewhat believable season, but they missed the mark.
Hostiles (2017)
One Of My Favorites In So Many Ways...!!!
How messed up have these people got to be after seeing and doing the things they did during the expansions West. There is a lot going on in this movie. If you are a history buff you will appreciate some of the very harsh details in this movie. I thought Christian Bale did an outstanding job. Well worth watching this movie. I give this movie 10 STARS. Bravo Zulu
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (2016)
Great Feel Good Movie - 10 Stars
The Book of Love was a great feel good movie with chance encounters and picking up pieces after a tragic event. Very good serious acting role for Jason Sudiekis who is normally known for his comedy roles and SNL. This was a very touching movie worth watching for adults as well as others. The music by Justin Timberlake was certainly an added bonus. Well done...!!!
Mercy (2016)
Absolutely Positively One Of The Worst Movies Ever
Absolutely Positively One Of The Worst Movies Ever
One Star - Awful
This movie repeats scenes over and over again.
The acting is horrible.
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT waste your time watching this movie. Netflix should be ashamed of themselves to even offer this movie to the public. No name actors should have skipped this one as I am sure it was NOT helpful to their careers.
Again, don't waste your time with this GARBAGE.
It is almost criminal that this movie was made for public consumption.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL...!!!
I repeat - AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL...!!!
Do NOT bother.
Vacation (2015)
LOVED IT - GREAT Sophomoric HUMOR AT ITS BEST
LOVED IT - GREAT Sophomoric HUMOR AT ITS BEST
Exactly what I enjoyed in previous Natinonal Lampoon movies with Chevy Chase. I have not laughed this hard in a long time. If you enjoy these type of movies, you will not be disappointed. Great humor from the past updated to 2015. I love the innocent humor where the dad back then and now wee a bit naive, which makes for a great time for all. It was a bit nasty and raw which I enjoyed as well. It's nothing the kids today have not seen or heard.
LOVED IT....!!!!
I hope they keep them coming. Great job.
Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)
What Was Milla Jovovich Thinking?
I love Milla Jovovich, but this was a horrible movie. She has such great beauty, why would she waste her time with such a horrible movie? I could barely watch 5 minutes of this movie. It tries to be a Kill Bill type effects which is totally wasted with her talent. Is she hard up for money to do such a bad movie? She was much better in STONE which starred Robert DE Niro and Edward Norton. I think she could be a great actress if she held out and got into the right movies.
Don't go see this movie - Don't rent this movie - Don't bother watching it on TV.
TWO BIG THUMBS DOWN for Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010).
Lost Boys: The Thirst (2010)
NOT good.
Sorry Corey Feldman just doesn't do it for me. He might have possibilities in other movies, but this movie certainly did not help his career. A washed up, child star gone bad. I guess if you are into the vampire craze Lost Boys: The Thirst might turn you on, but probably not. He pretty much growls through the movie. I would NOT waste your time watching this movie. I made it through about 20 minutes of the film and was NOT impressed. The current score of 5.4 is very generous for this movie. I think a score of 1, maybe 2 might be more appropriate. Save your money, don't go see this film, do NOT rent it. There are plenty of other movies to keep you entertained these day.
Crank: High Voltage (2009)
NOT Jason Statham's Best
I normally like Jason Statham's movies, but this was horrible. The story-line was NOT plausible. Jason Statham's heart was stolen and replaced with an artificial heart which had to keep charged by electricity. At one point he uses jumper cables from a car attached to one of his nipples and tongue to charge himself back up. It is a STUPID STUPID STUPID premise. I would not recommend wasting your time to watch this movie at a theater, or rent it. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME........!!!!!
Crank: High Voltage (2009) is TWO BIG THUMBS DOWN.
There are plenty of good Jason Statham movies such as The Mechanic (2011) and The Transporter series to watch him at his best.
Jackass 3D (2010)
Sophomoric Humor At It's Best
Certainly entertaining, but often gross and disgusting. I am amazed at some of the concepts they come up with. Lots of genitalia, poop, and other humiliating ideas abound. They certainly seem to gross each other out to the point of throwing up a lot. I guess there are millions to be made hurting each other and looking like idiots. I would not pay to go to the movie theater or even rent this movie, however since I had nothing better to do I watched someone else's copy. I am sure someone will try one of their stunts or try to make up some of their own and end up killing themselves or seriously hurting someone even though there are disclaimers at the beginning and end of the movie.
Skyline (2010)
Two Thumbs Down
Two Thumbs Down
It's THE FLY, INDEPENDENCE DAY, ROCKY, WAR OF THE WORLDS, and GONE WITH THE WIND all rolled into one.
Unless you are totally desperate and there are no other movies to be seen, you might be able to struggle through this epic waste of time.
I am suppose to write 10 lines about this movie, but this movie is NOT worth 10 lines so I will talk about NOT having enough lines to submit this review unless I write about the 10 line requirements for this review to be submitted under the terms of the "guidelines".
Do NOT go see this movie. Do NOT bother renting this movie unless you are looking for the comedy of seeing such a poor movie.
Remember Me (2010)
A day just like any other. A day that changed the lives of many.
A day just like any other. A day that changed the lives of many.
"Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it's very important that you do it." Robert Pattinson (Tyler Hawkins)
I actually watched this movie out of boredom today by myself. I did not know whether I would like it or dislike it. I watched it out of boredom. I am a grown man -- I cried. I am still crying writing this review. This movie is about about love, hate and everything in between, but mainly love. Love involving a father and son, a brother and sister, and others. I still have incredible emotions about the "day" that affect me daily though I was thousands of miles away safe and secure. And, as I write this thousands of mile away from the heartbreak of the 8.9 earthquake that is now devastating Japan.
I really enjoyed this movie. I have liked Chris Cooper's (Sgt. Neil Craig) work in the past. He did an excellent job as usual. I can't say I have been a huge fan of Robert Pattinson (Tyler Hawkins), but, I thought he did an excellent job as well in this movie. Pierce Brosnan (Charles Hawkins), I thought was very good as well playing an aloof, emotionally distant father.
A day like any other may change the lives of many. A day, a chance gone by to show, to tell someone that you loved them.
The Escapist (2008)
Good Movie - A bit Slow but Interesting
I enjoyed the movie even though it was a bit slow. I also found British prison English hard to understand at times requiring me to rewind and listen over and over again to attempt to get the dialog.
I really liked the historic value of the escapees moving through the tunnels and aqueducts of the London system. During their escape from prison they managed to find their way to an old abandoned "Tube" station used during the German bombings of London during World War II. There are remnants found during that period including an old withered gas mask and other relics of that time long ago forgotten.
At the beginning of the war officials had misgivings about the use of tube stations and underground tunnels as public shelters due to disease and the danger on the tracks. But, as history tells us they used the "Tube" in the long run. The English found the "Tube" to be a suitable sanctuary and preferred them over other air raid shelters at that time. Tracks were decommissioned, cots and porta-potties were brought in, and the rivers were reinforced with flood gates and embankments. The "Tube" did have its casualties, the worst being stampede in which 173 were crushed to death by others. In addition, there were many direct hits of the "Tube" during the war which were kept secret until well after the war.
Eden Lake (2008)
Highly Disturbing - NOT RECOMMENDED FOR KIDS, TEENS OR ADULTS
DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE...!
I had no idea what this movie was about. For some reason I thought it was about things that go bump in the night -- Little did I know.
The movie itself was fair, the story-line was a bit weak beyond the fact that these things do happen. I would have given the movie a 5 rating, however, this movie is so disturbing just based on the "copy cat" factor alone that I gave it a 1 rating. In the long run I am sure that some people will find this movie quite entertaining. This is PORN at its best.
This movie was a real horror movie in that the events could be very true. It's not about monsters and goblins, but what terror man brings to man, in this case teens bring to his fellow man. This movie is very similar to the real life "Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs Murders" in the Ukraine in which the teens film their misdeeds of brutality involving a screwdriver and other blunt instruments. As many as 21 people were murdered by the teens. Their cell phones and personal computers contained multiple video recordings of the murders taking place. One full video was leaked to the Internet, showing the murder of 48-year-old Sergei Yatzenko. He is seen laying on his back in a wooded area, and is struck repeatedly in the face with a hammer held inside a plastic bag. One of the attackers pokes out Yatzenko's eyes, and stabs him in the abdomen with a screwdriver. Yatzenko is then struck with the hammer in order to ensure that he is dead. All three teens were also found guilty on the animal cruelty charges. There was no specific motive behind the killings except that the teens thought might get rich recording "snuff" videos. There was one report that they planned to make up to forty videos.
DON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE...!
The Bucket List (2007)
Excellent - Inspirational - Touching
"You once said you are not everyone, well that's true, you're certainly not everyone. But, everyone is everyone." - Morgan Freeman as Carter Chambers
We are all stardust - We are all connected - "Everyone is everyone."
As we get old, or sick and die we become once again, one another. Carter believed in God, Jack Nicholson as Edward Cole did not. But in the end they both reverted back to their most simple forms - Stardust.
This is an excellent movie on death and dying, joy and regret, family.
Don't wait till the time is close to fulfill your dreams or the dreams of others.
2012: Doomsday (2008)
Horrible unless...
This movie is horrible unless you are a born again Christian. Christians use the word "rapture" to refer to the coming of Christ for followers, believing that Christ is preparing a new heaven and a new earth where god will take them during the rapture. The preparation that Christ was referring to had to do with casting the devil and his angels out of heaven before god could take them there. The battle between Michael and Satan began soon after Christ ascended to heaven. The reason that righteousness dwells in the new heavens and new earth is that Satan is no longer there. Now that the war in heaven is won, Christ can return to gather them in the rapture. That date is 2012, Doomsday.
