Just recently found this movie and was most pleasantly surprised. It's mildly political on the gun thing and male behavior, but just, and it never distracts. In other words, you'll likely not care no matter what your stances.
Of more importance, the actors are extremely personable, the script and dialog first rate, and the story largely amusing, but with enough serious subtext that it doesn't devolve into farce. Put another way, the humor is palpable, but of the subtle variety.
The scenery is everything that BC is famous for and while some of the characters might seem stereo-typical, these folks did actually exist. And everyone gets in on the humor.
Beyond that, there's tension on two plot points that's eventually resolved in accordance with the tone of the movie.
Finally, this was simply a really good watch of a type of movie that's become increasingly rare over the last decade. Check it out.
