Motocross Zombies from Hell (2007)
One word. Amazing.
Do you like zombie movies? Do you like motocross? Do you like plot? This film lacks all three elements. But what you DO get, well, let me just say it's worth the price of admission. Great performances by Dave Competello and Chris Saphire. They truly see the nature of what a zombie comes from, and they encompass that in their roles. The DVD extras are also to be worth noting, from the bloopers, film trailer, and interview with Dave Competello where he discusses the origins of the "poles". It truly is as interesting of a theory as you'll ever hear. I live by it today. Pick this movie up pronto. If I had ten dollars to spend on either this movie, or food for a child, the child would get a big helping plate of my laughter aimed at a television screen as I encase myself in this cinematic gem.
Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003)
Pauly Shore needs more work.
I just saw this movie last night at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Boston, MA, and I can't tell you how much I loved it. Along with endless cameos, the movies really has countless laughs to go along with it. The movie is just smart. I think he takes a big risk in satirizing his life, but it works out so well. You think you'd end up laughing the entire movie at Pauly, but you end up laughing with him. Check out a great Sam Kennison voice impersonator too, he was dead-on. My favorite cameos were Jay Mewes and probably Mike Madsden. Don't worry Pauly, although we will always see you as the Wiez, we will always respect you as Pauly.
Now You Know (2002)
Best acting I have seen in years.
At the 2002 edition of View Askew's Vulgarthon, Now You Know was screened for the general public. For any fans of Jeff Anderson or Kevin Smith flicks, this movie has it all, minus many of the "dick" and "fart" jokes many are accustomed to when viewing Clerks, or Mallrats, to name a few. The plot is simple: a groom-to-be finds out days before his wedding that his bride wants a break-up. Seems like a common plot yes? Throw in Anderson in an amazing performance which just about shadows Randle, and a great plot that left the theater in stitches. I don't know when the movie will be released or where, but I think everyone should go out to check this movie. Kudos Jeff for a job well done.
