Keep Breathing (2022)
Worth the watch.
Good movie. Like the plot. Started off great then slowed down in the end. I feel like this could have been done as a movie instead of a mini-series. Would make-up for all the slow spots. The last two episodes were excessive with flashbacks which made it hard to watch. I didn't mind them, just wanted to see more of her in the situation she was in. Melissa Barrera was great in this role. Her character had bad abandonment issues. She loved the pressure of work but when it came to her social life, her love life, and her relationship with her father, she was very much distant. I do have questions about what happened after she got saved though. Guess it will be left to imagination.
In the Dark (2019)
One of the worst series I've ever watched.
Mason Murphy has to be one of the worst main characters of any given show in the history of television. The fact that she is a self-entitled, vindictive, spoiled, pathological liar, makes the show very difficult to watch. I couldn't relate to her whatsoever. I was actually wishing Josh would have prevailed in the end just so Murphy could be held accountable for her actions, unfortunately, the alternative happened. She treats everyone around her like crap and then those same people still help her. Max and Felix were the worst. They reminded me of children more than grown men. Murphy pushed them away, lied to them repeatedly, mistreated them, and yet there they were. Max and Murphys' relationship was so toxic and the show basically praised it. Hate that Max died but, I was glad it was finally over between them. The storyline itself had so many holes in it that left me, the watcher, scratching my head. The writers did a horrible job trying to gain any kind of sympathy for Murphy. Glad the show isn't coming back for a season five.
Deep Water (2022)
Weird storyline. Very slow movie.
Definitely meets the criteria for its genre: psychological thriller. Very slow. Very confusing at times. Their relationship wasn't explained until the end so it made for a lot of 'what-in-the-world-is-going-on' questions. Armas and Affleck did a good job in their respective roles. Just wish more had been explained throughput the movie.
The Road (2009)
Potential to be great, was basic at best.
Very slow. Good movie with very little explanation what's going on other than there was an apocalypse and the boy and his papa were on their own walking down a road south. Took me a while to finish it. The ending just happened. Didn't quite live up to what I expected.
Eternals (2021)
Not the best Marvel film, not the worst either.
Had to watch twice because I didn't quite get it the first time. Glad I did. Made more sense. I enjoyed it even though there was quite a bit of skipping around. Part two will be fun with where it's headed.
Here Today (2021)
Slow but satisfying.
Very melodramatic but an interesting story. Charlie and Emma have a very peculiar relationship but it's authentic and real. Also something that Charlie had been lacking and something he would need. I thought both, Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish played their roles perfectly. Haddish definitely showed a different side of her.
Flag Day (2021)
Crime, trauma, and mental health.
Watched #FlagDay. The movie is about a daughter, Her perception of her father who is addicted to crime. A true story. To me, it was more about family trauma and the lasting effects it had on His family.
Sean Penn is incredible. His daughter, Dylan Penn co-starred. Remarkable job. A must see!
The Terminal List (2022)
One of the best series in a while. Watch it!
Conspiracy, betrayal, cover-up, and one man's' relentless campaign for revenge. One of the best shows in a while. Perfectly written, produced, and directed. This is Chris Pratt's best role. Absolutely killed it. I'm sure I'll watch this series again in the future. It's that good.
Hoping for a season two. 🤞🏽
Blacklight (2022)
Solid. Not great.
Conspiracy.
Government Cohesion.
Collateral damage.
Perfect example of a movie that should have been a TV series. Spent the majority of the time trying to wrap up the story. Very little explanation or back-story. Interesting but not the best.
Brief sentiments from the movie, 'Taken.'
The best part was the last twenty minutes.
Memory (2022)
Great movie, fulfilling ending.
I enjoyed this movie very much. Liam Neeson movies are very similar in style, but they always are very entertaining and action-packed. I know the title of the movie is called, "Memory," but that was the part that I found annoying. Didn't take away from my take on the storyline itself. Love the location of the movie as well as this "ordeal" is real. In the movie there was justice. In real life, that's not always the case.
