Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
It was entertaining and that's the point of a movie.
No it's not like other Saw movies. It would do really well as it's own movie. I think that's where all of the negative reviews come from. It was entertaining, though. And that's what you want from a good movie. Worth watching for any horror fan. Chris Rock is great in his role here. He even fit it a few laughs in the beginning. I recommend.
The Seventh Day (2021)
Guy Pearce deserved better.
At least it had a tiny twist but my spouse and I predicted it from the first scene so... Not very twisty after all. Was difficult to finish but we felt we had to after paying for it. Story had more holes than a golf course. Cringy acting from every single person except for Guy. People get hurt severely and barely react. Its insane. Also there's no consequences for anything. Even murder.
AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Im hard to please but I've watched this one several times.
It takes a lot to make me watch a movie more than once. But this one is pretty good. Deff worth a watch if you like Sci-fi or the alien movies.
Steel Country (2018)
Hated the ending.
But good movie. Worth a watch. Believable acting.
I laughed a few times I shouldnt have.
The Fanatic (2019)
The first line Travolta says is "I gotta poo"
That will tell you all you need to know about this movie.
The Clovehitch Killer (2018)
The ending sucks and makes no sense at all. Great build up to a disapointing end.
So.. Really bad ending. Bo closure for anyone. No justice. The evil murderer gets to go down in history as an amazing man. Loved and missed by all. The son has to spend the rest of his life pretending he misses dear old dad so much.
Thats BESIDES the obvious criminal charges that the son would face. They would 10000% tie him to the murder of his dad after 1. Neighbors saw him in town with a gun on his back in broad daylight when he was supposed to be at camp. 2. The camp would confirm he never showed. 3. The father has blunt force trauma aside from his gunshot wound. 4. The fathers blood is in the womans home when he was struck repeatedly and bleeding. They would have checked her house over where 5. They would find the sons fingerprints in the basement on the window. He grabbed it. I checked. Ect ect.. But also when hes caught and he tells the truth.. Do they believe that? Therea literally NO proof now. So... Yeah. Suck ending.
The Informer (2019)
Ok, GREAT movie. They set up for a sequal, I think. Just ONE little thing....
So the scene where he's in the ambulance and it shows the FBI agent kinda hint at her gun to give him a chance to escape, right? It shows that and then does this really sudden cut IMMEDIATELY to him shooting out the tires having already somehow used the gun to take over and get the ambulance pulled over. Driver included is tied up.
Now.... Thats a huge jump to happen while showing us NOTHING of it. Ok we get that she had a gun avaliable for him but... What?? How. How did he take over EVERYONE including the driver? Of all the stretched out unnecessary parts of this 2 hour movie they chose to cut short on THAT part?? I was so confused I went back to see if I blinked and missed something. Nope. It was just simply not included. Hes on the table one second and the next hes got everyone tied up outside on the ground. Crazy.
Otherwise. Great movie.
Feel like they set it up for a sequal since he didnt get that closure of reuniting with his family. It leaves the whole point of the film unresolved.
Spell (2020)
Dont watch this while eating. Also, it makes no sense.
So a lot of this movie makes no sense at all. Like how he keeps escaping over and over but never gets away. How, they have the ability to restrain him from getting away over and over but ONLY use it once when a sheriff that is in on it anyway shows up. Why restrain him then? The sheriff knows...
How all of the crazed people never try to attack him or his family despite having every opportunity to do so many times to stop him from killing their beloved witch leader. The dialog is cringy and bad. The kids are so unlikable its hard to feel for them at all. They have such a small part. They could have been likable so we felt for the situation more. But no. Make them "bratty" for no reason. Sure.
The dad issue was never resolved it just kind of left a "thank you for teaching me the dark magic I used it to destroy a witch" kind of deal at the end when.... Wasnt he extremely abusive? Odd..
Anyways. I only finished it because I paid for early access to watch it. But ... I wish I hadnt.
Songbird (2020)
Horrible
Enough of the pandemic movies please for the love of all things good in the world. Enough!!!!
Robin Hood (2010)
One you can watch over and over
Great telling of a great story. Loved it. Russel crowe. Cant go wrong.
Robin Hood (2018)
Jamie Fox deserved better than this movie.
Horrible. Really wish they wouldn't have called it Robin Hood. Cause its not...
Also, the Maid Marion character was extremely unlikable and with everyone desperately poor I dont know how she managed so much tacky make up throughout the whole movie. It made no sense.
Her relationship with "Rob" is not established as anything real or relatable. Its cringe.
The ONLY redeeming thing is Jamie Fox.
Also, theres a lot of unnecessary referneces to rape. The writers are kinda creepy.
The Sacrament (2013)
Its literally a Jamestown story knock off scene for scene
Its a play by play knock off of the real Jamestown cult massacre. Which, there is actually real life footage of the real Jamestown so why they thought to do this fake footage knock off is beyond me. Distasteful and uninteresting in every way.
Come Play (2020)
Goosebumps meets spongebob
The amount of times spongebob is referenced or clips of it that are played in this "horror" film is unforgivable.
This was not scary at all. I WISH I had not spent $20 to watch this. But, it had great reviews which I now believe are fake or payed for. Theres no way people actually like this movie. No way.
They also tried REALLY hard to have a deep meaning about technology and social media and it made an already bad movie suck even worse with that failed delivery. Just awful. I tried so hard to find a redeeming part of this crap show and couldnt find one. Save your money!
Relic (2020)
Unscary. Tried to be deep but fell short.
Shot in such dark lighting I had to squint at times and it still didnt make it scary. They tried to be deep with meaning and it really didnt translate. And I work with dementia patients so I was willing to get the messages. I hated it, personally. But it did make me wince a few times from gore, and my spouse liked it so I gave 4 stars. Wouldnt watch again.
Scare Me (2020)
No horror. All "comedy".
So this movie is nearly TWO HOURS long. It doesnt get exciting until literally the last 5 mimutes of the movie and then its over. I gave 4 stars because it did make me laugh a few times. Mostly it's cringe humor, though.
Spoilers next:
The female character is very unlikable.
The pizza guy served no purpose to the story at all. Here for 10 minutes of cringe and them gone. No furthering of the plot.
I REALLY REALLY REALY wish they would have persued the horror aspect a little more. As they told stories, if we could have seen them come to life from the view of the imagination if the listener as the other told the story. They used this a FEW times with the warewolf claw, the troll eyes, and the door opening. Would have loved to see that way more. It was the only exciting part. Like, when he looks over you really see an old man laying there. Or when the dog comes downstairs to really see that. It made no sense to show us a REAL werewolf claw and the glowing eyes of the troll but nothing else???? Ball dropped big time.
Z (2019)
Its not bad at all.
I dont get all the bad reviews. I dont scare much anymore in movies but I jumped and screamed in this one. It got me a few times. It was genuinely scary. Sure it could have been WAYYY better if theyd have done it right but it was pretty good.
A few things didnt lead to anything plot wise and that confused me but in the end I did enjoy it. Worth a watch if you like scary movies.
The Lie (2018)
Great cast. Great movie.
This one really makes you THINK. It was CRAZYYYYY. Ahh such a good one. The ending made me really mad but its origional. You'll love it. Deff worth the watch.
The Cleansing Hour (2019)
Well, that sucked....
I dont know whos giving this decent reviews. Maybe just a bunch of edgelord teens but this movie is complete trash. In fact, it seems like a bunch of edge lord teens wrote this movie because its whole first half is just establishing "I engage in sex and alcohol and Im not afraid to make sexual jokes about God. Im so super cool. I have many live stream followers and I rock." Very cringy the whole way. Non stop cringe writing. Movie is all over the place. Makes no sense. Hard to watch. I have yet to finish it it sucks so bad and I usually love most horror movies. It went in 3 different directions plot wise and not one of them made sense. Hated it. Awful. Gross. Seems like a home made movie. Dont bother.
Death of Me (2020)
The lead had a wedgie the WHOLE movie.
Not my biggest complaint but it was literally her shorts wedged up her buttcrack the whole movie. Lol
They should have done a little better with wardrobe.
But also the whole movie made no sense.
It only held my attention in that I really wanted it to get better. The potential was there. It just flopped, in my opinion. My husband predicted the whole movie and every "twist" in the first 10 minutes. Wasnt worth what we paid to watch it for sure.
Unhinged (2020)
Surprisingly dark but pretty good!
They made the female lead unlikeable tho. Sad when you can't easily root for the victim. Deff worth watching. Very entertaining.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Not a horror show this season.
All of the scary parts were shown in the trailer. There is no more scary moments than what you already saw.
Its not horror genre lile Hill House was. Its literally just a love drama with a few spooky parts that were shown in the trailer. I waited for so long for this season and it was beyond disapointing. Very very slow paced. Uneventful. Not exciting.
I thought about "bent neck lady" from season 1 for months after. Nothing in this show stays with you except disappointment.
Velvet Buzzsaw (2019)
It went no where. So much wasted time. Not a horror movie.
This movie was such a waste. The characters were unlikable. Yes, EVEN JAKE'S CHARACTER. At the hour mark I paused it to see how much longer I'd have to suffer. The answer: ANOTHER HOUR. This is NOT a horror movie. Its more of an unrelatable satire drama. The only scary parts are shown in the trailer. So don't think you're gonna sit and watch an interesting horror film. This ain't it, son.
American Horror Story (2011)
Watch through season 3 and QUIT!!!!!
The first 3 seasons are AWESOME. They're well written. Entertaining. Scary. Great horror series. After season 3 the writters got bored and drunk and scribbled some cheap plot ideas down and just went with it. Unwatchable beyond that point. If you think "but its been so good up till now. Its the same actors and writters. Surely, it will still be good..." NO! Don't believe that lie. Run!!
Bright (2017)
Amazing movie
This is refreshing when you're sick of the same old action movies with different titles. This was original and interesting. This movie should have been WAY bigger than it was. I feel it was too big for Netflix and that held it back a lot. Should have been in theatres. Very funny. Exciting. Good movie.
The Lodge (2019)
Could have been a great movie.
Loved the concept. Loved the setting. Hated the ending.
