I started watching this based on its high reviews. Then I came to the reviews in the middle of watching it and noticed how the reviews were mostly thumbs down. I see why and that's why it's important to have the thumb down feature. I'm a big fan of comedy and craziness, but this movie is no good. Maybe it's because I'm not Australian but I don't find any of this movie funny or entertaining in any way. The acting is not good and everything is forced. It's like some kind of improv theater group. And as the audience, I don't care about any of the people and I don't care that the party is not going as planned. The music is pretty decent, though.

To start, I love Super Troopers. It is an absolute classic that I have watched at least a dozen times. Sadly, this movie falls flat and I doubt I will ever watch it again.
To understand where I am coming from, I love comedy. I love slapstick and goofy stuff. I understand comedy and I personally have a side "career" (I don't get paid for it) making up silly things I post on facebook to entertain my friends. I know comedy but this movie really screwed it up. The three main problems were that 80% of the jokes weren't funny, most of the way the jokes were delivered was bad, and the flow of the movie was just disfunctional. The scenes just happen and are jumbled together. I believe this is the main problem with the movie. It jumps around trying to throw all this funny stuff into one scene without any real focus. There's also no character development so there's no explanation as to why these people are the way they are. The Champ would be the only exception, and he was probably the funniest of them all even though he's not part of the comedic team.
Look at how Super Troopers was. They would have a scene that focused on a couple jokes and it worked really well. This is just a mashup up of people being silly for no real reason. It really was a mess and as someone who loves humor I'm surprised it has high reviews. I don't even think smoking a pound of weed before watching it would help.

I seriously stopped watching over halfway through to create an account here so I could complain and warn people about this sorry movie. And I rarely stop watching a movie completely. What makes this extra sad is that I love gory movies. I love Hostel, which this movie makes a pathetic attempt at copying. This thing really sucks. It's uninteresting, no character development, no creepiness, no emotions. There is lots of gore but it's sloppy and leaves you feeling scammed. With Hostel, they made it exciting because you knew gore was coming but they built you up to it and made it fun to be all queasy and grossed out. And you felt bad for the characters getting slaughtered. This junk just jumps into it and it's completely void of any excitement or tension. Just a bunch of guys carelessly hacking into people you don't really care about. Wikipedia doesn't even appear to have an article about this movie which says a lot. Avoid this mess.
