Polly want some fake money?
cgvsluis21 August 2023
Jen usually helps out at the police auction, only this year she is replaced...but her son volunteers in order to get the jump on a potential car thanks to his mom and dad's recommendation. When Jen and Dani drop off the fliers and supplies they reconnect with an old friend who is down on his luck and their replacement for the auction. Their friend ends up murdered...and Jen is on the case.

Before he is murdered he asks Jen to help him bid for several seized items from an imprisoned counterfeiter.

This was an interesting mystery which involved not just who committed the murder, but where all the counterfeiting supplies are hidden. One of the better mysteries in the series.

Sad to see the series end, but...

Warning: Spoilers
I've finally gotten around to watching all the existing episodes of this series and, for the most part, it's been great fun. Except for some really obvious goofs, as in this episode, starting a trip to the "hideout" during strong daylight but arriving in the dead of night (after at most, a few minutes), the writing was usually cogent and the mystery held together pretty well. The perpetrators were always hard to figure out, given the many red herrings that were sprinkled throughout the hour plus, and the characters always fun and a joy to welcome back. One tiny regret: knowing that Lori's imprisonment would end the series, I held a secret hope that the writers would have her arrested at the end of this show as a conspirator in the counterfeiting ring. It would have been a major wrench in the gearbox, of course!

Love garage sale mysteries
catrine-4884522 February 2023
I really enjoyed this particular series and sadly we won't be seeing anymore. I enjoyed watching Lori Loughlin and the rest of the cast were good. There's always a murder and Jen, Lori Loughlin, has a good eye for solving mysteries. She owns an antique store with Sarah strange . Steve Bacic is perfect playing the part of her husband. I Believe that "searched and seized " was the last of the garage sale mystery. Maybe Hallmark will pick it back up. I'm not a big fan of the newer mysteries on hallmark. They are definitely not the same. I love "murder she baked" with Alison Sweeney and " Flower shop mystery" with Brooke shields. Just to name a couple. Give it a shot and the review should be based on the show not the actors personal lives .

Garage Sale Mystery series has just lost its past lustre with this failed attempt
Ed-Shullivan30 March 2020
I have complimented some of the previous film releases in this series on IMDB but I was very disappointed in both the story line and the quality of this the latest release in the Garage Sale Mystery series. A talking bird, an auction, and a loan shark comprise the clues to a murder mystery but come on folks, why didn't the perpetrator just where a T-shirt that spelled out GUILTY as it was that obvious.

I'm going to assume that this may be the last in this diluted series for more than one obvious reason. Or......maybe the very last will be about some filthy rich corrupt parents who bribe their children's ways into elite colleges through fake sports scholarships and by laying out oodles and oodles of hard cash to a corrupt university college recruiter to get their spoiled rich kids into the front of the elite (but still corrupt) universities entry line.

Nahhh, no one would believe THAT story line, now would they?

Another great movie

I'm a big fan of the murder mysteries on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The "Garage Sale Mysteries" are no exception. I loved these who-dun-its. But, you have to watch them yourself to form your own opinion. To Ed-Shullivan, You were supposed to review the movie only! Not bring up and review what was going on in their personal lives. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the movie. It should NOT have any bearing on the movie's rating. Bringing it up made you look unprofessional and childish. Stick to reviewing movies from now on!

Like meeting an old dear friend

Cannot explain how happy I was to see that there was another Garage sale mystery film I hadn't seen! So sad they don't make them any more, but oh well.

It's probably my favourite Hallmark mystery series because I love Lori, love her character who is just nosy enough, but not annoying. Absolutely love that Jen is married, and they don't waste time on finding her a love interest (like they do in 99% of the mysteries).

This installment was good as always. There's a proper garage sale, there's some humor, there's a decent mystery, there's lovely Dani, there are marvelous Jen's coats.

Too bad it must be the last one, because even a mediocre GSM is better than most new Hallmark mysteries.
