Paul and his therapy dog Kathe have to lift a young patient from nurse Hildegard. Chris lost his mother in a helicopter crash and one side of his face has been disfigured by burns since then. The 19-year-old orphan only leaves his apartment at night, hidden under a hood. After complaints from the neighbors, his landlord, Stutter, gave him notice. The teenager flees from loneliness in fantasy worlds. With the support of Kathe, Paul would like to give him new courage to make his dreams come true. When he meets Helena while diving, hope grows that he will fall in love like everyone else his age. However, his fears make Chris hesitate to show himself to Helena - without a diving mask or hood.

Paul (Christoph Schechinger) und seine Therapiehündin Käthe sind ein eingespieltes Team, das sich nicht so leicht aus der Ruhe bringen lässt. Dies ändert sich jedoch, als eine Frau auftaucht, die Paul aus dem Konzept bringt. Es ist seine Jugendliebe Hanna (Christina Athenstädt), die ihn wegen ihrer Depression und einem Burnout um Rat bittet. Und: Ihr Mann Torben, der wenig von Psychologen hält, darf nichts davon wissen. Romantische Erinnerungen an die gemeinsame Zeit - ein Sommer im Liebesrausch - machen es Paul schwer, die gewohnte professionelle Distanz einzunehmen. Dennoch findet er heraus, was die Architektin in ihrem Beruf und bei ihrer Beziehung belastet. Über Paul und Hanna schwebt aber auch heute immer noch die Frage, warum es damals so abrupt zu Ende ging. Die Antwort darauf berührt Paul noch Jahre danach zutiefst.

Paul (Christoph Schechinger) und seine Therapiehündin Käthe können eine besondere Beziehung zu Kindern aufbauen. Als sich Schulleiterin Dr. Madaki (Thelma Buabeng) Sorgen um den zwölfjährigen Faris (Giorgio Valero) macht, schaltet sie den behutsamen Psychologen ein, um nicht gleich den langen Dienstweg gehen zu müssen. Tatsächlich gelingt es Paul mit der Hilfe von Käthe, das Vertrauen von Faris zu gewinnen und sich ein Bild seiner familiären Situation zu machen: Der Junge lebt allein in einer verwahrlosten Wohnung und auf dem Küchentisch liegt bereits die Räumungsklage. Paul weiß, welche Konsequenzen die polizeiliche Fahndung nach der Mutter hätte. Über einen befreundeten Beamten lässt er deshalb unauffällig nach ihr suchen. Von dem Jungen beeindruckt, möchte der Psychologe ermöglichen, dass Faris in seinem Zuhause bleiben kann.

The blind teacher Ina Meyrose is bitten by her guide dog and suffers a double trauma. As a result of the incident, she not only loses trust, but also her four-legged companion. The dog is suffering from a brain tumor, as an examination shows, and has to be euthanized. In order to help Ina, the psychologist Paul Winter relies on therapeutic methods and Käthe's special gift.
