VIsually impressive and meaningful

A quite typical setting yet filled with meaning and countless ways to impress viewers, the concept presented in "You Only Live Once" video seems to echo the insurmountable pressures of life that literally drowns most of us, as shown here with The Strokes slowly sinking deep as loads of tobacco tar are poured onto them as they play the track. Veteran clip director suffocates and stress his audience with such images yet he also brings a great sense of curiosity since we desperatly want to know how the boys are gonna end by the end of the video - similar idea is also used in "Radiohead: No Surprise" which is a very claustrophobic video with Thom Yorke's face showed in a long-take shot where he slowly drowns inside a diving bell. Lyrically, I think the group tries to evoke the feelings of never being good enough or being too critical of oneself whenever you're trying to make his way into the world. Quite meaningful, and the video presentation is simply extraordinary. 9/10.
