If you are craving an action packed video game...look elsewhere!

A lot of people will give a game such as this a low score as they do not know what they are getting into when they purchase said video game. That is, what one gets is hardly a game at all and is more aptly described as a visual novel. There are a few times you get to do things in this game, but for the most part you are watching and reading, if this does not sound appealing to you, then this game is not for you. Me, I enjoy a game of this type as long as the story is really good and I have to say that the story really was good and sucked me in quite nicely!

The story first starts out showing a blinding light and then an earthquake that devastates the city. Then you see a man in his apartment and he cuts off his own arm seemingly unaware that he is going anything and then a woman singer also dies in a horrible way. A young man named Takuru is interested in these cases dubbed the return of the new generation madness due to them coinciding with fantastical murders that were done on the same dates before the earthquake. He, along with the rest of the newspaper club wish to figure out the case; however, Takuru and his best friend Onoe find themselves caught right up in it when they stumble upon one of the murder scenes!

The game play is very light here. Mainly, you are just scrolling through text and watching scenes play out between the characters. The only things you have control of is to control Takuru's delusions which you can skip, see a positive one and a negative one. This only lasts through a few chapters though and is done. The only other thing is when Takuru goes over the case and you have to remember aspects of it.

So, I enjoyed the story immensely and only gave it a 9 because the ending was such a bummer and to get the true ending you have to see all the other main ones. Kind of a pain, as I really enjoyed the story, but it isn't anything I want to play again right after the first time. Still, the game has great and likable characters, some unexpected twists and turns and is a very compelling and emotional story. If that sounds like something you would like, I say give it a go.
