The show gets way better in the next episode and the rest to come, but writing here is very frustrating to listen to. All of the girls are stereotyped versions of themselves to start, and Leah's backstory is, in my opinion, the least interesting. After this episode the girls get deeper and the backstories more profound.

So Nine Girls Crash Land And End Up On This Deserted Island....

Alright lets do this.....
10 Girls headed for some kind of therapy session Crash Land in a Plane and live, and end up on Tom Hank's deserted Island From Castaway. Oh okay maybe it's a bit bigger than that. They quickly scour the area for Diet Cokes.... I guess the pilots did not survive.
Oh I guess it's 9 girls that were put there. And one died. The one that died happens to be an 'operative'! Apparently there is a plot behind it all to put these girls in the water and then have them go to this Island.
So it looks like this series is all going to be done by flashbacks. The various girls being questioned by 2 guys in an interview room. Each girl has of course a backstory for their life and then for whatever happened on the Island.
It's an interesting concept. Let's hope it gets more entertaining than the Pilot.

This show is so diverse and representative, shows a variety of girls going through something very dramatic, through ups and downs, we see histories of where they come from, why they're here and how they can evolve from the island. The episode introduces everyone in the way that makes you want to learn more about them all and not just one character! Everyone is so relatable and the story is super interesting.
Gets better after the first episode and that's saying a lot.

One of Amazon's best original shows. Having so many young female leads is one of the most exciting things on television right now. Being filmed in New Zealand and Australia gives it a beautiful backdrop for viewers to watch teenage girls deal with their trauma when left on a deserted island. Give it a watch and cross your fingers another network will pick it up.

This was no a good start to the series. All the characters are vaguely irritating, 1 dimensional, stereotypes. I get that they didn't want to put too much personality into the characters in the first episode when we're going to get to learn about them through their own episodes later on, but it was a close thing as to whether I kept watching long enough to see any of that.
And are we really not going to talk about the whole lying to a guy and tricking him into committing a felony???
The whole story it's like he's the bad guy for ghosting her and the whole time it's because she lied to him and could have got him sent to prison.

I have not stopped a pilot before. I stopped this 3 times, because it just got edgier and edgier. There was not one thing I liked about this episode. You start off by telling the whole plot away. All this time the camera is shaking. Acting doesn´t feel convincing at all. Usually series that are bad, are bad in a funny or in an entertaining way. This was just bad overall. Others that have rated it, say it gets better after this episode, however, this does not justify giving it a higher rating for this episode.
