I have always appreciated DM's humor and intellect, but I have trouble understanding such a narrow view of the US political atmosphere by someone with the ability to see through the BS in so many other situations. I can laugh at jokes aimed at both political poles, but it leaned right by a lot. Somehow he manages to direct his distaste more toward Bill and Hillary than the Administration From Hell in office now. Unbelievable. And it makes me wonder when he last listened to any news outside the views of Fox News or am talk radio. He makes arguments with misinformation to back his points and the audience seems oblivious. I laughed some but it was disappointing overall.

Jokes or an old guy complaining?

Fake News

An actual comedian taking shots across the bow at both sides of the aisle. Any negative comment regarding this show is a representative of too far left liberal that has taken funny out of comedy. Dennis makes cracks that will make both sides wince because he's not mincing words describing today's hysteria. And of course he takes shots at Trump too.
How the mighty have fallen

Boorishly unfunny. Dennis approaches his branded audience with his usual blend of over "thesaurasized" sentence work with a combination of curmudgeon stubbornness that tends to come off as another old white guy barley holding back at yelling at the kids to get off his lawn. His jokes come off lazy, unintelligent, and pandering to a stubborn viewpoint. As it has been for years now his (which has never seemed to improve) his stage presence tends to remind one of an aging manikin, stiff necked and rigged. Even that trademark head wobble of his has seemed to recede back into his shoulders.
But I think my biggest take away is his blasé denigration of people (American citizens by the way) and thinking by saying, "I'm happy for you." is by anyway a joke in and of it self. But by also declaring the ladder statement, yourself are self-forgiven. That is like saying, "Look I know you're invalid as a human being but I'm happy for you." It's quite disgusting. I don't see any humor in any of it. Sarcastic, yes. But sarcasm without kindness is just ridicule. As goes for irony and hubris.

Dennis Miller Skewers Emotional Hemophiliacs
mekjd16 April 2019
Miller spares no one his laser accuracy for hypocrisy, weakness, and just downright stupidity. Refreshing. And in our time, when comics are afraid to do anything other than "Orange Man Bad," Miller is unflinching in recognizing Trump Derangement Syndrome when he sees it. And he sees it everywhere.
Laughed until tears were streaming down my face. Am quite sure I would laugh just as hard on a second viewing.

Sadly Unfunny

I always liked Dennis Miller going way back to his SNL days and his subsequent comedy specials, which is why this latest effort fell particularly flat for me. The irreverence seems to have been replaced with a snarky bitterness that just didn't deliver on the humour I've come to expect from him. It has nothing to do with politics or what side of the fence I'm on. Not funny is simply not funny. I quit trying about halfway through.
Almost excellent

Old and Lazy?!?
nandohahndo17 April 2019
I liked Dennis on SNL for his right of center approach to Weekend Update. I was expecting that, in some form. What I got was about 20 min. (couldn't finish it) of a regurgitated diatribe about outdated FOX NEWS culture in joke form. Complaining like an old rural grandpa about things he is actually still understands as he applies his take. This poor guy's comedy shtick did not age well, I think it died on the SNL set, to be honest.
Great intellectual comedy

Just make him stop
softwynd25 May 2019
It is something unique where someone has name recognition but has lost their edge or exhausted their big idea and they just don't understand that they are no longer relevant. Lazy stabs at humor with a blunt instrument. Please stop the pain and just go away and perhaps retain some dignity.
Miller Nailed It!
jennymcintire5526 May 2019
Miller is as brilliantly clever as he's always been. Any of the the negative reviews are clearly liberals howling at the moon. Dennis gives an outstanding performance and calls it like it is. His assessment of current events is spot on; he's one of the best. If you're a Miller fan this is a much see!
Hilarious and Thinking Comedy

Reading the low star reviews shows where one leans. Just watch it and find for yourself. Dennis once again makes jokes about everything we are already thinking and it is hilarious. His jokes are witty and aren't for the uninformed.
outraged at the 5.8 imdb

The negative reviews and scores on this more than excellent stand up speak perfectly for themselves. Tell us the truth in this ludicrous age of PC sheep and we, the sheep, will punish you. This result literally belongs IN the act. So I called Dennis up to get his reaction and he said: "It's like the teacher lecturing about illiteracy who subsequently receives misspelled death threats."
