Great season opener, with the exception of one oversight on the details.
During the briefing, the (operation) site is described as 12 stories high and an
astounding "80 million" square feet.
That's a huge amount of space to cover during an assault and well beyond the size of any oil platform in existence. This would be a platform (if square in design) of 12 floors, each floor approx 1/2 mile squared. Basically, a small-mid sized city on the water.
The Boeing factory in Everett for making 747 airplanes is the largest in the world and "only" 4.3 million square feet.

Welcome back Seal Team!

Warning: Spoilers
I gave this episode a 9 rather than 10 because there is no offshore oil platform in the world that is 80 million square feet. The second i heard that I attempted to un-hear it so I could focus on the action, instead. Also, that drop into the ocean from that height would have been about 200 feet off the water, which would not have been pretty without a flawless landing. And even then, to come up with a smile would have been doubtful. This aside, Seal Team delivers non-stop, heart-pounding action with great pacing, great group dynamics, team movement, and the mix of personalities. Special mention goes out to Sonny Quinn who is an indispensable character in an already lunatic fringe group of adrenaline junkies. awesome show. What entertainment of this genre should be.

Thanks Scriptwriters John Glenn and Spencer Hudnut for finally writing an Episode that depicts what U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s actually do as short duration (measured in hours) Direct Action (D.A.) Missions and Training.
Unlike the other S.E.A.L. Team Episodes that have Bravo Team attempting to do the U.S. Army Special Forces Mission, that require Cultural Anthropology for each Nation in Area of Operations and Area of Responsibility as long term Missions (Deployments "Tours" that can last for Years) including the Covert Operations while attached to the Central Intelligence Agency's Special Activities Directorate ("Division") and or the Central Intelligence Agency's Special Operation Group or as under the Operational Command of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Why only an 8 rating and not a 10? I rarely rate anything that high 10 "Walk on Water", I don't inflate my ratings, just like I do not inflate my Ratings of Subordinate Officers, NCOs, Enlisted The glitch is that U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s are trained at the very start of becoming a U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. to handle explosives as Basic Underwater Demolitions/Sea Air Land (S.E.A.L.) aka BUD/S aka "Buds". The other glitch, is where is the Bravo Team's S.E.A.L. Team Commanding Officer? aka Required Fall Guy held accountable and responsible for any Mission Failures?
"All SEALs are BUD/S graduates; are dive, parachute, and demolitions qualified; and have completed an advanced 15-week SEAL Qualification Training." - U.S. Navy, and the training I survived.

Let the predator sink!

Warning: Spoilers
Hey writers!
In this episode, the lieutenant commander advises that the predator drone isunning out of power) and need to return to base so that it doesn't fall out of the sky. My thinking is LET IT FALL as they have millions and millions of dollars worth of training in these SEALs and EOD specialist on the oil platform so just keep the predator drone circling until it won't fly versus send it back and put one or all the operators at higher risk. We can replace a predator in a few weeks at a factory, but we can't replace a DEVGRU SEAL TEAM in less than 6 years. As DEVGRU members have to be in a regular seal team for at least five years before applying for a DEVGRU spot...
