Cancelled too soon

What a great show! I can't believe they cancelled it. Just when I am vested in all the characters they pulled the rug out from under us. They need to find the funds to continue this show.

What's wrong with DC & WB?
pooya-932-5588932 August 2019
Another good tv series that got canceled on excuses from Warner and DC and state they did the show. Nobody wants to admit and take the blame. Audience are the losers because the show was canceled before it even started. I really hate DC after Nolan's Batmans. Marvel had better plan every time. DC biggest loser of all time. Being first doesn't necessarily means best.

Decent finale to the season/show, I guess.

Warning: Spoilers
Decent season/series finale. The after-credits scene was definitely the peak of the episode solely because of how well done Jason's plant form is/looks as far as practical effects go and whatnot as well as how good he/Kevin Durand looks in that form. I'd go as far as to say that his form looks even better than Swamp Thing does. It's a real shame that the show got canceled.

As expected.

Warning: Spoilers
Though the season 2 is not coming out but the post-credit scene was like a wonderful trailer if what will be the real fight in this Swamp universe. I wish these characters return in some other shows or in season 2. Because the real villian is now out there, who really look like a big fight for Swamp Thing. As expected all the story lines were completed in their own way as all characters approached towards their destiny. May God bless them all😂😂.

Swamp Thing will return.
gautamshub3 August 2019
This finale was good. Swamp Thing finally showed himself as the warrior hero and he also finally sets his mind about what he is going to do next. Abby stands with her saying that they will fight darkness together.

In the end they finally showed the true Jason Woodrue.. aka Floronic Man (and he looked dope).

But now with the finale Swamp Thing is not renewing for any further season (as per the latest news update) but it can cross paths with any different DC show in the future. So it can be said that the show is over but the character...

Swamp Thing will return.

I want more of this show but of course NO.

There are some weak spots of this show , like rushing plots , some questionable CG... But everything else is alright and enjoyable. We already got a lot of super hero (most of them are lame) show/movie there. Why not give a chance for the anti/dark hero for one more chance . Yes, we want batwaman which everybody hating it. Yes, we want more heart less show like GOT. DC you just made another mistake like you movie series mess by canceled this show, meh. Wake up Dear DC, not woke up btw.

I am sure Swamp Thing will return
satyanarayana2 August 2019
Thank you MCU for producing this nice TV series but still angry because you ended it too soon even though it has so much potential..... I hope they change their decision and continue the series after few months.

Edit: I am sure Swamp Thing will return for next season or in another DC comic series at least...But it will return for sure.

Loose Ends

Warning: Spoilers
Monstro do Pântano (2019)

Finished Series #24

Season 1

Episode Ten - Loose Ends

Never has a final episode title like this made so much sense.

The resistance that the people in this series have is incredible, the guy who became Swamp Thing was shot twice in the stomach and still managed to almost escape from the swamp, the sheriff's son crashed his car into the wall and is now walking, the sheriff took stabbed in the back (literally) and managed to wake up and scream in the trunk before (supposedly) drowning.

Nobody dies in this series, everyone is from Krypton.

As bad as I thought it was to watch this series, at least I managed to marathon it in just one day.

Previous Series: Mare of Easttown (2021)

Next Series: O Auto da Compadecida (1999)

Twenty-Fourth Series Completed.

Marathon of this Monstro do Pântano miniseries that started and ended on May 18, 2024.

Episode Rating: 2/10

Series Average: 3.40/10.

Warning: Spoilers
This was a pretty solid season finale, but a terrible series finale.

I understand that this show didn't expect to be cancelled so early on, however the show still had plenty of time between the announcement and the finale to create a proper end to the show. This finale does not do anything to close almost any of the season's story arcs. If anything, the finale opens up more arcs and plotlines than it closes which was a very unwise choice. Keep in mind that almost all of my issues are due to the show's cancellation and shortened season and not so much the episode itself as it does maintain the great quality of the rest of the season.

SPOILER WARNING

The finale did a terrible job approaching the deaths of some of the larger characters such as Matt and Lucilia. Lucilia's death felt as it had no impact on the larger story and neither death even happened on screen! They might not have had the largest roles but they certainly deserved better deaths than were given. As I said earlier the show didn't resolve almost any of its plot lines. There's no resolution truly to the disease in the swamp, there's no resolution with the darkness, there's no resolution with Maria's story, there's no resolution with Avery's story, there's no resolution to Abbey's story. The show did nothing to resolve the plotlines of their story in the series finale! They even went as far as to end the show with a cliffhanger involving Jason's character turning into a creature like Swamp Thing, which at the time of writing this, will never be continued or followed upon. The scene was not even pivotal to the story from the first season as it is a post credit scene and could have easily been taken away from the episode before releasing it.

At the time of writing this review there seems to be no return of this show in sight. Unless DC is working on getting a second season of this show on another channel then they did an awful job on this finale.
