This is an excellent satire of feminist screenwriting.

Not comedy, drama or mystery, just a waste of time

This episode lasts only a half hour or so, but it so lacking in basic intelligence, let alone wit, that Showtime should remove it or at least add a warning that it is so terrible that people should view it at their own risk. Great cast, atrocious script. Conan Doyle is depicted as a sexist moron, and I think this is intended as satire. Dorothy L. Sayers and Agatha Christie are supposed to be smarter than he is, but neither one of them comes off all that well either. I can't fault the actors for reciting their lines ably, but anyone associated with the writing, approving, producing and airing of this shoddy episode should atone and do something nice for charity to make up for it.
Oh, Grow Up!

All men are shallow, sexist, delusional, weak, incompetents and philanderers, and every woman will use her intellectual superiority, coolness and efficiency to top the men in the end. How much longer do we have to have put up with commissioning editors choosing our fare based not on narrative or wit but on how well the script meets outdated and childish sexist stereotyping?
