In the Long Run continues its gentle but uneven run.
Valentine reckons he could play professional soccer for Leyton Orient (although I am sure they were known as Orient in 1985.) The fact that Valentine is 34 years old could be a potential obstacle though. As he trains with Bagpipes, the police stop Valentine. We knew this was going to happen as it was signalled earlier in the episode.
I thought it was not wise bringing up the subject of police brutality against black people when showing footage of the Broadwater Farm riots. Well what would the Sun newspaper say about it? Apparently nothing, this series is made by Sky!
Agnes and Kirsty are concerned about the plight of their elderly neighbours as one of them is discovered dead some days after he died. Agnes proposes to do something about caring for the elderly.
This is a nice enough show but it really decided to bring up odd subject matters for a comedy.
