As good as this episode is, the few minutes of Gerald McRaney consoling Mandy Moore at the repast was, for me, the highlight of it. Their interaction was so touching and real.

The details

Just incredible, the episode is very good, once again so well acted, well written, well paced.
Music is on point; and as in the Kate episode, not required at some moments, only these life sounds and the light.
All the scenes have a real meaning for the past, the future as far as in the episode. Everything is impeccable.
And then, after the episode, you start thinking: all the details come to your mind, like the fact that the episode is talking about how jack always knew everything that was gonna happen, and in the beginning of the episode, we clearly saw .. there were only 4 tickets to bruce springsteen concert.
And that moment with Doctor K... the music and his acting, makes you get emotional directly. One thing that intrigated me, was how the camera showed us for a long time that they sat on the bench, him first, then her, and he didn't let her the nearest seat, but let's say, he's old, that's it, huh?
But then you realise it is the same moment as Jack and Doc K: now Rebecca and Doc K on a bench, filmed in angles, the same way, the feelings, how she is lost and requires him to advance. And the ultimate thing, you just start thinking, "oh he e is at jack's place, and he was at rebecca's place on those two bench. See, he is just the guide, the counselor they've needed, when they couldn't have each other.
The details in that show.. makes it incredible, and the show is all about the details in life, the little things.
Why I LOVE this show...

The Car (#2.15)

A nice idea of showing their important moments from a car as well as the memorial. It all shows the love and connections they had with their father. Rebecca talking to Dr K who now helps her just like he did with Jack was also great. We also see Kevin warming up to his brother who is wearing their father's watch. And Kate sure wasn't at fault, neither was the dog. Maybe he would have inhaled that much smoke without saving another life because he was in the hall more than anyone when getting them out. Saving your pet in never a bad idea, I hope this show won't change people's mind, Kate should be happy. But of course she can't because having her father die is too traumatic, to her this will always be a connection with his death and she blames herself for it which resulted in so many problems in her life
Could have been the end of the show

When Rebecca drives across the bridge without Jack that felt like the perfect ending. I enjoyed This Is Us as it progressed in subsequent seasons, but in the terms of the arc this is the true climax of the show.
P. S. Just finished watching the episode called "Miguel." ðŸ˜

Jeep Wagoneer

The writers here are so amazing. They could so easily fall back on tried and true, formulaic plot elements. Jack is dead and his funeral is about to take place. So what do they focus on. The car. It begins when the family is in bad need of a new car. So they go to the dealership. The kids want the Wagoneer but they are very expensive cars. Just when they are headed off to the used car lot, Jack gives a speech that would make Clarence Darrow proud, and manages to get the car. It is still too pricey, but, obviously, it holds up really well. We then are shown various events involving car trips. Some are not fun. When Randall is being taught to drive, Kevin is in the back seat taunting him until he nearly gets in an accident. The two of them walk five miles home. There is a time when Rebecca is waiting for results of an MRI to see whether she has cancer. And, finally, Rebecca drives the kids to the graveside service and the luncheon where Kevin and Randall get into it again. Kate makes a final plea and the boys, hopefully will find a better way.
